Wish I could give this place zero stars if I could. Where do I begin...we gave the job to Long Beach Roofing because Mike said he had worked with his crews for a long time and they were a local business. The demo crew and plywood crew seemed to be subcontracted by subcontractors and didn't know who Mike was. They left a mess of nails and wood shards everywhere, which I'm still picking up, left utility blades and tools after they left for the day in my front yard, took a dog statue that I had on my front porch and put it on the chimney, left big gaps between the plywood sheets, and left a tall can and bottle caps on my roof. Drinking is a huge OSHA violation. My husband would go up to inspect everyday once he got home so we have videos of all this thank goodness. Told the supervisor about the drinking and everything else and his response was, after he asked them about it was that they were drinking after they had finished but they shouldn't leave their mess. I was shocked at his response. The next day three guys from the demo/plywood crew come unannounced a little before 5pm a little upset. My husband asked why they were there, they said because someone had told them they hadn't cleaned up. Miguel, the supervisor was by earlier that day cleaning up, not too well I might add, and had left. As they were talking to my husband they said they had been fired and weren't gonna get paid because the homeowners had ratted them out about the drinking and gaps on the roof. My husband showed the guy the pictures and videos we had and all he could say is he had a new crew. All this time my husband is upset, and my daughter's and I are scared because these guys know we were the reason they were fired. Also, these guys had used and taken one of my shovels and we had to ask for it back, it not they would have just kept it. The shingle guys did a pretty good job, but I didn't think it was professional that they used my bathroom on the first day, that is a safety issue. Miguel also put a hole in our plaster ceiling which left cracks going in 5 different directions. He sent someone to fix it, it wasn't fixed correctly and they thought it was ok to leave the cracks. My ceiling was not like thus before you put your foot through. No word on when they are gonna send someone to fix it correctly. So all in all, stay away from these guys at all costs and save yourselves from a big headache. I will be reporting them to the California Contractors Licensing Board.
so far so good. when ever i call the phone is answered. got the estimate the same day roof was viewed, actually it was a contract. they are not cheap but not the most expensive. mike called to make sure i understood the process or had questions. i signed the contract and dont know how to put it back in computer to resend. the project manager/foreman came by my house to pick it up. i just love when i dont have to go out into the world. i dont have to pay any thing till job is complete, the best way to go for me. will let everyone know how the work compeltion went when done. i have taken care of apartment buildings for 28 years and it is hard to find fair, reliable, knowledgeable workers. i hope for the best, all my dependable labors, plumbers, construction and electracal people have worked for me so long they are retiring. hard to replace.
Mike has done a ton of work for our company, he is always on top of it and provides timely estimates and work scheduling. The work he does is excellent. On the several properties he has completed work at, he has done an exceptional job. I highly recommend Long Beach Roofing for any of your roofing needs.
Jude R.Totally different company than the one I originally reviewed, and not for the better.
Bought by some company from out of state, most of the skill left, now they don't even answer the phone. How would they guarantee a roof when they don't even return calls.
I spoke with one of their guys and he said the place had gone downhill. Quality has suffered and he confirmed everyone I knew for years is gone.
Don't use this company.
Nadine H.I don't ever like leaving negative reviews and typically will just leave it alone. ( I took a line from one of your other customers!!) However: this is really got me upset. I had a new flat roof installed in March of 2017, over my patio, and it was not cheap...It rained the next month and my new roof leaked. I made a service call and I believe it was Mike that came out and the leak was fixed the next week. I am not sure how many times in 2017 it rained but the fix was acceptable.
Now it is 2 years later and once again it rained and once again the roof is leaking only this time the water has crept under the roofing material and has damages 3 longboards where the water has come in, and it is in the same place as last year. I made a service call and someone was supposed to come and look at it, but they never showed up. Made a second call and this time I am told that it is no longer under warranty and that someone will come and give an estimate of how much the repairs will cost, however: it will take at least 6 (SIX) months for them to come out and make repairs at my expense. So we all know what will happen to the roof when it rains again. This company does not do very good work nor do they care about their customers. Ps....one never knows if a foof is leaking until it rains!!! :-(
We met Lucas over a month ago to give us an estimate. I have made several phone calls to find out why we haven't received an estimate. This past week I got a phone call from another employee saying he was given my number to come out and repair my bedroom leak. I told him that I had called and left another message for Lucas to call regarding my estimate. He said that he would speak with Lucas and have him call me back. That was a week ago and Lucas still hasn't called me back. Based on this experience, I wouldn't use this company. No follow through and they appear to be very unorganized. I never write reviews but I had to for this company.
I don't ever like leaving negative reviews and typically will just leave it alone. However when it comes to something as big as your home, I can't let this one slide. I'll break it down into pros and cons and then decide for yourself.
Pros - our roof looks really nice and it appears as they have done a good job (it has rained once and so far so good).
Cons - the same week we received the bill from the company (and I don't mean a ""second"" bill, I mean the first and only), we also received a certified letter stating a lien would be placed on our house if they ""one of their suppliers"" were not paid. Within a few days we received another certified letter from another supplier.
I typically read reviews and do extensive background work before hiring someone for any type of work. MY BAD. For whatever reason I went on my neighbors recommendation as she had just had her roof replaced and stated she also used them about 20 years ago. Her roof looks good too btw.
You should know that when we received our bill, it was from another name out of Oregon...not sure about the logistics of it all.
I waited until today to write this review because I FINALLY received an email with all of the lien releases.
Billy B.Tell your driver (license plate 86043X1 on 12/5 at 2:30 pm) to use his f*cking turn signals when he's cutting people off on the freeway. Almost caused two crashes
Zach P.I have used these guys twice now and have been very happy with their work. Mike was easy to work with and provided excellent communication from the estimate, material selection to the completion of work.
The quality of work has been exceptional and their prices are very reasonable. They were the lowest bid on both projects they worked on.
They now require customers to pay their supplier direct, apparently due to issues they have had in the past.. It's a win, win for everyone.
Oh my goodness! For people relying on Yelp for an informed decision, please read between the lines to see if its the quality of the job or their imagined ""inconvenience"".
Honestly, I have had nothing but GOOD interactions with this company and its staff! In fact, I had taken the free estimate from Mike, and bless his heart, he not only came when he was newly recovered from an illness, BUT, he stayed and patiently answered all of my questions so thoroughly, that I was deeply impressed by his professionalism and knowledge! He even went back up on the roof a second time just to make sure of something that I wanted to know. I think he stayed close to an hour, if not over. I totally trust this company, trust Mike and am eager to do business with them. I am scheduled for work this coming week and will be writing another review to comment on that aspect of my experience with this company.
BTW, I was educated about what happened with those liens. Apparently, another company did not pay Long Beach Roofing, so, in true dominoes fashion, other companies piled on and unfairly penalized homeowners for the roofing materials. I don't know how they can do that, but, apparently, they can.
Also, the young lady who so sweetly answers the phone is new. Whoever Lynn was, apparently she was not representative of this fine company and is now gone. I have only had good interactions with their present office manager.
