It was just over 10 years ago that I contracted Lon Smith Roofing to replace the roof on our small 3/2 house. I had heard that Lon Smith Roofing is a good company that does good work. However, it must have been a busy time of year because the job was subcontracted to another roofer crew. This other roofer crew was not the best group of characters. They did not do a quality job & they used a low quality shingle that is already in need of replacing. Flashing in the roof valley was not installed properly and has caused a leak above the garage that has will require addition repairs. And the roof decking is warped in areas from water being able to get under the shingles. I am now faced with a major roof replacement due to the poor quality products & workmanship.

I thought my roof was damaged in the recent storm. Mitch Branick from Lon Smith came out and inspected. Found the problem, no roof replacement needed. I have dealt with this company before and have found them to be honest and do good work. Would highly recommend.

We had a contract with Lon Smith Roofing to put on a new construction roof - they partially did the job (applied some tar paper) and then canceled the contract because they didn't measure the roof correctly!! They said they underbid it - it was their fault!! Now this will be delaying the rest of the construction on the house as we have to find a new roofer and wait for their availability. We will NEVER use them again. A good company would stand behind their legally binding contract and stick to their word! Horrible, horrible, horrible!!

We had a great experience using Lon Smith to replace our roof after a hail storm. We initially had another company come out and look at our roof and once we filed our claim they would not provide us with a quote unless we told them how much the insurance company was going to give us. I thought this was very shady and decided to try another roofing company ""Lon Smith"" that was recommended by a friend.

Trent came out for the initial inspection of the roof and he spent a solid hour to write everything up to make sure it was all documented.

Once the insurance company came out and told us how much they would pay for the roof replacement, Lon Smith worked on my behalf to negotiating with the insurance company on why the replacement of the roof was more then originally quoted by the insurance company. It was nice to not have to do this part on my own.

Trent did let us know that our roof did not have adequate ventilation according to today's standards/code. At no cost to us, they installed more ventilation and also upgrade the previous ventilation that was used.

The actual replacement of the roof went as well as I would think a roof replacement could go. They showed up right on time in the morning, and began bright and early. I went to work, while my wife stayed home during the installation, and by the time I returned from work at 5 they were completely done. They did a wonderful job laying out tarps to catch nails and debris. They also performed a thorough cleanup.

One thing that separated Lon Smith from the rest besides everything that I previously mentioned was, they have an employee come by a few days later to inspect the work that was completed to make sure everything was installed correctly. They also asked if we had any concerns, which we mentioned a few minor things like we could see some finger prints on the siding of the house, which he took care of.

So to sum it up, I would say it was a pleasure to work with Lon Smith, and they really did a great job on our roof.

I used Lon Smith because it was recommended by my insurance agent. I was a little leery of that. But I'll tell you they did a fantastic job did what they said they were going to do and did a fantastic job I would recommend them to anyone

I have had my share of bad experiences with a different roofing company but Lon Smith did come through. Initially my wife met with Mr. Lackey and she said he was professional and very knowledgeable. After getting the 3 quotes from 3 different roofers we went with Lon Smith. Although no one company is perfect this one got darn close.
Pros - Good quote and documentation
- call there office you get to talk to a human
- Lois is awesome, she gets you an answer
for anything
-Got the job done in one day
-clean up was good, hey it's a big mess and
considering the mess it was a good job

Cons - they are not all inclusive, this company is
strictly roofing, you'll have to find a gutter
Guy/Gal for that and other work, on the plus
side Chris Lackey did provide me with a list
of other companies for everything else

I want to take a minute to write a review for Lon Smith roofing. I recently had them replace my roof and I couldn't be MORE PLEASED from start to finish I felt like they really cared and they did an excellent job!

Had my roof installed in April. There were some issues on my end with the contract, but Lon Smith has been wonderful working with me to resolve my concerns. NO LEAKS since the install and we have had hail, wind, and rain. I would use them again and highly recommend them. Had my shingles upgraded and even with the issues, didn't get any discounts, so I didn't get a $$$ break through it all, I am pleased with the overall end result. The customer service is far superior to what I have experienced with past companies and the quality of workmanship is better than the company we used prior to them.

We just had our roof installed by Lon Smith Roofing and I couldn't be happier. If you need a new roof, call Matt at LSR, he's great to work with and helped us out so much with getting info for our insurance company.
Matt's crew arrived at 8am and hit the roof like a hurricane. It took them about an hour to completely remove all the old shingles. It was amazing to watch them work.
I really cannot recommend these guys enough. The best part of the whole experience was they replaced my whole roof in 1 day!

We had problems with Lon Smith Roofing throughout the whole process--from delivering the wrong shingles to communication to breaking the gas water heater vent stack attachment. Garland now requires building inspection after a company gets a city work permit. The inspector was just here. Lon Smith Roofing failed to properly and safely set the roof stacks for both our gas furnace & gas water heater. Both things could pose a threat to our well-being. I just emailed them with a copy of the failed inspection report. I expect fast repair, but that is beside the point. They should have done the job right in the first place. 11-28-2016 Follow-Up. So Lon Smith sent someone out to set the vent stacks properly--the day after I notified them, in fact. Building inspector came out next day, approved the work and passed the vent stack. This morning it rained. The vent over the furnace leaked. I was not a happy camper. I called LS first thing this morning. They did send a crew out and supposedly fixed it. Of course, no one called before sending out the crew as requested. I would not use this company again. All in all we had far too many problems with them, and the salesman who we dealt with starting having an attitude after we started having problems.
