I was having a problem with my Solar edge inverter so I reached out to liberty bay solar. Chad got back to me the same day and he was actually able to see me the next day (very rare).
After taking a few minutes to familiarize himself with my system he clearly explained what the different lights and signals meant on my inverter. He then went to work identifying the issue and discovered that it was actually not my inverter that had an issue but rather my battery.
After a few firmware updates and a flip of a switch my solar was back up and running!
Chad was incredibly friendly and a pleasure to speak with. If I ever want to update or expand my solar footprint I know where I'm going.
I highly recommend him for anyone needing help with their solar or looking to move to solar.

We solicited solar quotes from several companies, but chose Liberty Solar and we're so glad we did!
Chad is a total pro. During the quote, he was the only solar rep to actually inspect our electrical panel and assess our electricity usage by looking at the PG&E meter on the side of our house. Chad was low pressure and never gave a ""sales pitch"". Instead, he informed us about our options, made recommendations based on our specific needs, answered all of my endless questions in a concise and understandable manner, and quoted us a *very* competitive price.
After agreeing to work with Liberty Solar, Chad made scheduling, the permit process, and installation a breeze! I feel like a solar aficionado now!
This a great company with exceptional customer support. Highly, highly recommended.

The previous owners of my house had solar installed, and I hadn't given it a ton of thought up until seeing my PG&E statement showed I wasn't getting much energy from my system all of a sudden. I realized the inverter, from solaredge, wasn't functioning properly anymore, so dug up info on the system installer to try to get them to fix the issue. Much to my dismay, the installer had gone out of business, so I tried contacting the ""preferred installers"" that solaredge lists in the area. Both of them told me they only do work on systems they installed (I guess it is more lucrative to be installing new systems, so they only do maintenance/repair if obligated to do so). Finally I made my way to yelp, where I found Liberty Bay Solar and Chad, and I'm very glad I did.
Based on what I shared with Chad, he was pretty confident that the inverter failure would be covered by the solaredge warranty. They require a site visit though and stepping through a convoluted process to verify system failure. He tried to squeeze a visit in just a couple of days after I called, but wound up running long on another job, but let me know that he wouldn't be able to make it that day as hoped. In the meantime though, he went ahead and opened a case with solaredge. When he was able to come early the next week, he spent a couple of hours on the phone with them stepping through the procedure for verifying it was dead and getting an RMA, so they'd ship a replacement at no cost.
When the new inverter arrived a week and a half later, he came out and got it all working. He also shared more information with me about the inverter and the solaredge monitoring platform. He even cleaned the panels while he was here, and gave tips on equipment so I could clean the panels myself!

I called and spoke with someone who sounded very helpful. He said he would call me back to schedule. Never called, never responded to texts (including a text just asking if he could let me know that he couldn't get me scheduled). Totally ghosted. I would not want to do business with a company so unreliable.

My previous solar contractor skipped town before completing the interconnect paperwork with PG&E. I was producing a lot of electricity from the panels, but I was not yet receiving credits for putting that energy on the grid. Chad was extremely helpful in assisting with this tedious process with PG&E. I highly recommend him, and I will certainly use him for my future solar and battery needs.

My solar project started in late 2020 and I was hoping to have my system installed by end of 2020. I got Chad contact from a friend of mine who used them and he was highly recommended. Chad's response had been great. He responded within a day always either by text or personal call. I told him what system that I was looking for. Chad was so patient to explain every detail about Solar on the phone number. He gave me suggestion that would work best in terms of price and performance but he also went with what I preferred. At the time, I also talked with multiple installers. Liberty Solar pricing is very competitive. Chad was the one that committed to install by end of 2020 despite the holiday season. I decided to use Liberty Solar because they are roofer too. Chad had his engineer inspected my roof and designed the system plan within a week. Chad's crew were great. Everybody was wearing mask the whole time. They were very courteous. Installation was finished in one day even it was short winter day. Chad's crew made sure no debris left on the ground before they left. Due to the pandemic, wait time for city inspection and final PG&E approval was longer than expected. It took almost 3 months. Chad always kept me in the loop as where we were at in the process. I am very happy I found Liberty Solar especially Chad. He is very patient, very efficient, very responsive. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Chad came by for an estimate on adding batteries to my solar system and was not only very knowledgeable but also very honest with me about the cost/benefit of doing this, recommending that it may not be the best investment for my situation, and offering cheaper alternatives. It's not often that you get that kind of honesty from someone selling their service. Will definitely contact him again in the future for Solar projects!

Chad Garnon of Liberty Bay Solar and his crew were awesome. He put in a solar system with back up batteries that makes me completely independent from the PG&E grid (also excess energy I create is sold back to PG&E). I just got the city inspection approval today, and my system is fully operational.
The install was more complicated because I have a metal roof (many installers won't install on a metal roof). Chad is a fully licensed electrician and roofer. He is the most qualified person I found to install my system, and the cost was reasonable based on what I had installed.
My system is 2.5 times more expensive than a solar system with no back up batteries, but it's the batteries that allow me to be independent from the PG&E grid. If you don't have the batteries, you will have no electricity if PG&E's grid shuts down,. This system is way too expensive to make sense if you just want to have electricity on power safety shutoff days, but I'm thinking way more about The Big One. If my house and i survive, I will have electricity for the potential months that the grid could be shut down. Also, I'm more green, although the batteries will eventually need to be disposed of. Everything has its downside.
If you are looking to install any type of solar energy system in your home, talk to Chad Garnon about your needs and goals and get a bid from him. He will spend the time to explain everything to you, even if you are like me and know zero about solar energy. He is patient, professional, does excellent efficient work, and I recommend Chad to everyone.

Just finished our install and have to say that we were very impressed. Chad , the owner, was onsite the entire time and made sure everything went smoothly. His electrician went above and beyond to make sure that the conduit was the least intrusive as possible. Very impressed with the whole process. Thanks Chad. Sorry but had to throw in a picture of our Granddaughter.

We used Liberty Bay Solar with Chad Garnon. They did our roof, too. Very nice to work with and they did a great job. We just had the panels installed before the day of darkness. Chad even came over today to clean the ashes off for us. We highly recommend them!!
