Company Overview

LGT Restoration Services, Inc. specializes in truss mitigation and retrofit services involving the 3rd nail for homeowners.

We’ve supported many clients reduce their insurance premiums by 25% to 35% through our offerings.

Prices for typical single-level homes begin at:

$950 for homes in West Coast Counties

$950 in East Coast Counties

Our prices depend on the ability to mitigate the straps from the attic.

Additionally, we provide mitigation services for multi-family residences, condo associations, and HOA groups. We cover Citrus County to St. Johns.

We were referred to LGT by a family friend when we found out that insurers are now asking for the installation of a third nail in roof-to-wall connectors for enhanced security against strong winds. Purchasing a home can be stressful, so this new roofing requirement seemed intimidating. LGT made everything in a straightforward manner.

If your home was built before 2002, it’s wise to invest in an OIR-B1-1802 Wind Mitigation Inspection. Homes built under the previous Florida Building Code where there were no mandated nail counts in truss straps. You may be able to decrease your insurance premiums by 20% to 50% with our retrofit solutions. We can connect you with an inspector near you upon request.

Your trusses are mitigated from within the attic or through the soffit. Get in touch with us! (844) 990-9797.

We used LGT/""Third Nail Guy"" to add hurricane clips to our home. All communication was done by email prior to the service. No one came to the house to inspect prior to quoting. We were provided a quote for our house, which we accepted. The technician arrived and completed the work, however it was very unclear whether he needed to do the entire house; after his initial inspection he said he only needed to do two sides. The supervisor who quoted the job said it was just a language barrier thing. We are unsure exactly how much work was actually done, albeit the wind mit inspector signed off and we were able to submit to our insurance.

Beware! The biggest issue we had is the technician damaged our 8-month old impact-rated garage door by closing it manually rather than using the keypad as he was instructed. His dirty handprints were all over the soffits and stucco on the front of our house (where he could not access via the attic due to a vaulted ceiling) and on the inside of our garage door. LGT initially took responsibly and a field supervisor came out to repair the door. Once the supervisor arrived, he determined he was unable to repair it himself, because it is an impact door, the dent was in between two panels, and it would potentially void our warranty. The supervisor said he had talked to the tech and the tech ""didn't deny"" causing the damage. The supervisor agreed that the best course of action was to have the original installer come access the damage and provide an estimate for repair. The repair estimate was over $1500 because both damaged panels have to be replaced. Once LGT/Third Nail Guy received the repair estimate their management's story changed to ""the tech did even touch our door""; they tried to blame our roofers (who didn't even start work until 3 days after the Third Nail tech was there); and said, ""without a video"" they were not willing to stand behind their work. I suggested they come do fingerprint analysis because his dirty handprints are still on the inside of our garage door!

We offered to share all the voicemails and emails from the supervisors who initially took responsibility, photos of the tech's handprints all over, and not once did LGT/Third Nail Guy management review any of that. Unfortunately, we're going to have to take them to small claims.

LGT was recommended to us from a family friend after we learned that home insurance companies now want to see an additional third nail in the roof-to-wall connectors for more security against heavy winds. Purchasing a home is already a stressful process, so this new roof thing we needed to do was daunting.

LGT made the process SO easy, painless, and convenient. The team was super responsive, communicating mainly via email to keep things organized and in writing. I knew what to expect when the team arrived, and the team was very communicative with me before, during, and after the service. LOVE that a wind mitigation inspection was included in the price--very convenient!

Thank you, LGT, for a great experience!

I had them install a second hurricane roof strap to the trusses. They were friendly and on time. The work was done properly and passed inspection. While it was a bit more expensive than I thought it would be as they had to go through the soffits and around a tricky roll down shutter, they did offer a nice 5% discount for cash payment. Payment was made on Oct. 1st but my new wind mitigation report was not released until the 12th. as the inspector was not yet paid. A phone call sorted this out and the report was released. I would use them again.

I was one nail shy in all of the struts in my attic and needed third nail to complete the nailing. LGT Restoration aka THIRD NAIL GUY, did the job as promised and paid for the re-inspection for my insurance. The price for an attic only nail service (in other words, they did not have to go thru the soffit) was $950. I was surprised that the entire job was done in an hour and a half. On the other hand, crawling on your belly in an hot attic is not my idea of an easy job. There was a problem that arose out of the inspection but the President, Richard Berge, made sure it was fixed and satisfied all of my concerns. I would use them again.

Unprofessional, dishonest, and manipulative. All the components to a company you should NOT do business with.

The experience I had with this company was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I spoke to them in April/May. I was in the process of finalizing a purchase. They quoted me prices for the retrofitting but at the time we never moved forward as we needed a bit more time to finalize the purchase. They had already been provided inspection/mitigation documents and photos during our initial discussion. I sent an email to resume the contact. No return email nor call came from the company for a week and the when they finally did reach out they responded saying someone would be at my house to do the retrofitting the following morning. No call to confirm I saw the email. I emailed back prior to job they scheduled (which I never agreed to I simply was asking what there availability and asked about pricing). I had replied to the email saying I believe they had me mixed up with another customer as I never formally scheduled anyone to come to my house. Then at 6 AM the day following the email, I receive a call from one of their workers saying they were on their way to my house. I explained to their worker my belief that they had mixed me up with another customer and told him I never asked/scheduled him to come to my house. He pleaded with me to let him come as he was already on his way. I told him I work overnights and expressed I really was not expecting his visit, typically I would be asleep by 8:40am which is the time he said to expect him. I reluctantly agreed to let him come and look at the house. He said he would be there at 8:40am on the dot. He arrived at 9:30am. He took a moment to inspect the house, mentioning that it would be difficult to do the job through the attic and he may have to go through the soffit. I had already anticipated this being the case. Then he kept stressing that it would be more costly to go that avenue stating that because it is a smaller house it would be around 2250. At this time I pulled up my old communication through email with Jason (I believe he is the owner). He had quoted me 950 through the attic and 1450 through the soffit back in May. I show the worker these emails. He seemed caught off guard and called Jason. He made sure to walk to his car and have a 20 min call with him. After this call he says that it is not a job they can do either route. He claimed it was not possible to do the work period on my house. Oddly this was never even a possibility of being an impossible house to retrofit until I showed him that his boss had quoted me a significantly lower price only a few months prior. So this company lied to me to get their foot in the door. Pressured me to keep an appointment I never even made. And then refused to honor a previously discussed price by lying and saying they are unable to retrofit my house. Take your business elsewhere. If this how they conduct themselves how sure are you of the work they are actually doing for you.

LGT came out and did wind mitigation to my roof. This strengthened my roof to help it withstand very strong winds. It also lowered my insurance rates several hundred dollars a year!
Jeff was out in the morning and crawled through my attic for several hours getting this job done.
He is a very hard worker, very polite and kept his work area clean.
