First the good, that is, why they get two stars instead of one.

Their price is fair. And they told me they could go in through my sub-panel instead of having to go through my main, which would have required extensive trenching. The techs know what they're doing. And most everyone at the company I've spoken with has been nice.

So why only two stars?

As you may have seen from other posts here, their client communication skills are lacking. And they're disorganized. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

I live in a co-op, like a condo. First one here to put in solar. So I had to get approval, which I did. I was sold on a system which didn't perforate the roof. Then, when they came out, all the hammering, and drilling, sure enough, a roof penetrating system. I don't care. But I didn't get approval for it. So I had to go back to the board, which said no. I'll call that strike one.

Then, the place they were going to put the disconnect, outside my bathroom window couldn't happen because it's on the second floor. So I had to go back to the board to approve the new location. 'Only' problem is that the okay they got from the DWP was for a third location. So they had to come out again. Strike two.

Okay, DWP approved. Now, how to schedule them to do the work. It was like they went on holiday. I'd call and call and email and text, and nothing. So, finally, I threatened to contact the State Contractors Licensing Board. That got me some action. Ara, the owner, got involved. He talked the board into the roof penetrating system. We set up a time for installation and that happened. Still, having to resort to threats? Strike three. And if I hadn't already paid them something I'd have walked away already.

During installation I get a call from them saying they've set up inspection for the following day. I ask, shouldn't we wait till the installation is done? No problem. Do I need to be there? No. That night, around 6 they call again. The inspector will need access to my garage. I don't have a garage. They need to check to make sure. Ok, so where's my meter? They didn't connect through my meter. If you've followed along so far, and I should offer awards for that, they went through my sub-panel. It's inside my house. I do need to be home. So we reschedule the inspection. I wait around. They show up to put stickers on things. When the inspector shows up he leaves. A co-op is considered a commercial property. He only does residential. So now I'm on hold, again, while they resubmit plans to get a permit for work which has already been done so that we can get an inspection. Should take a week. I've been to the department of building and safety. In and out in an hour or two. I get that they don't have the manpower to send someone to the permit place just for me. I mean, the sticker guy is a specialist. But a week? I'm not holding my breath.

We had our site inspection today. Joseph was our site evaluator. He's great! Very polite, professional and explained everything in detail. He has definitely made a great impression and we are looking forward to continuing our process.

I got solar and luckily was referred by a friend to LA solar. The people I worked with were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. If they didn't know an answer, it was quickly escalated and answered. The process was fast and took around 2 months. I had to push back my install date because I had a new roof installed right before and had to coordinate that effort. The city and LADWP approvals were very quick and all handled by LA solar. Before I knew it, we had our new meter and PTO to go live. Highly recommended. Many payment options, and very friendly staff, even when i called the office. Also monitoring was setup quickly I can always open a ticket for any questions. Shout out to Austin, Will and Dapo.

This is specifically for the Installation of the solar panels themselves. Levi, Denis and team did an amazing job and even cleaned my gutters for me, without me asking. And that was a serious job that would have cost me hundreds otherwise. I'm waiting for the final approval from the city and then we are good to go!

I keep getting private messages and getting harassed from Ara saying that Iam not a real person and that this is a fake Review to mess up their reputation , which to me show how low and shady their business, Iam so glad Iam using somebody else , stay away from this company

This company will not come to see your home in order to give you a quote. They will only give you an estimate by phone, and IF you sign with them, then they'll come and check your roof. Super shady.

LA Solar Group is one of the top companies you can always count on when service or repair is warranted. As part of their service that I appreciate so much is the monitoring of the solar system. For example last month in October when our inverter went out again (defective inverter), they immediately emailed me to try to restart the inverter. However, when the system failed to restart, a technician was scheduled which he arrived a couple of days later and when he also could not restart the inverter, with no question asked, they immediately ordered a replacement. And to my surprise, the new inverter arrived the next day with a technician who replaced the defective inverter with the latest inverter. Now that is what I call customer service, a company that takes pride on their excellent service. Yes, I would definitely recommend them as your solar company.

Hi, LA Solar did a really good job on my 13 panel system. I did quite a bit of searching around and getting quotes before I decided to go with them, and I'm glad I did. Their pricing was better, they provided in my opinion better LG panels than the competition was offering. It's been 3 months now, the installation went smoothly and I've had no problems with the system at all. I'm glad I went with LA Solar, and I'm glad I decided to get solar. Nicholai was very helpful and answered all the questions I had, and always got back to me right away and they kept me updated on what was happening. Good job! My home and Tesla are now powered by clean solar power and saving me money as well in the long run...

I have been waiting for months, but this company still has not delivered the project to its completion. Nicholai was very helpful, but as soon as the project transition from sales into project execution, everything turned upside down. I escalated my problems to Gary, Nicholai's boss, which I thought would make things easier. But it did not change anything. It just moved from one promise to another. I never wrote review but I'm 'forced' to write this review as I expect the company to fulfill its obligations.

I worked with Duke (project manager) to get solar installed earlier this year.

I had tons of questions, and could only correspond over email, so Duke got dozens of emails full of questions from me. He was always responsive, patient, and full of information. I kept worrying my constant correspondence was going to get annoying, but he never made me feel that way if it did.

He made sure our inspection with dwp went smoothly. Our installers were professional, and there was a quality specialist follow up visit that ensured they got everything right, and left the work area tidy.

As far as the solar panel I'm super happy. We switched to time of use billing and had some surplus credit heading into summer. Then basically $0 for electric all summer compared to super expensive last year. The inverter is also Tesla Powerwall compatible, so if we decide to add that later there is no additional fees or upgrades needed.

LA Solar (and Duke in particular) guided us every step of the way. I worry about everything, even if the yelp coupon will still be honored etc... and hey always calmed my worries and gave me all the info i needed to feel in control. Duke even came by in person to check in after we completed everything. He didn't have to do that, and you know how traffic in LA is. Just like every other step along the way he went above and beyond in taking care of us.

I'm happy with LA Solar Group, and would recommend them with zero hesitation.
