Recommended Customer Reviews

We've been researching solar companies in the area, and so glad we found LA Green Development. Awesome company, super excited to have solar as a part of our main source of power. We researched five solar companies and finally selected LA Green Development due to their price, technical knowledge, and helpful approach. Our project leader, Liroy, did a fantastic job from start to finish and made it all an easy process. They organized everything, it was so nice not having to worry if things were moving - getting the HOA approval, and final approvals. The installation was completed in less than 8 hours. (29 panels) We are so happy with our system, and look forward to many years of energy savings. I highly recommend going with them, because they truly care about their clients - and will do anything to get the job done. Thank you - for your hard work LA Green Development.

Our estimator, Liroy, was very honest and complete with his estimate, even saying that we really could wait 2-3 years to replace our existing roof. A few days after we signed the contract we were contacted by the scheduler. Our roof was installed a week later. The crew of 14 started working at 7:00 am. They tore off the old roof, and had the new one installed, and all the debris cleaned up 9 hours later. We are very satisfied.

Michael from LA Green personally handled coordinating the repairs to my fathers room. He kept his shcedule and communicated throughout every phase of the entire process. The crew he selected was outstanding, clean, professionals, who did an amazing job. They did an outstanding job of removing the popcorn ceiling and repainting the entire room. Special thanks to David and MIchael at LA Green for personally seeing to this repair. It far exceeded me and my dad's expectations. Thanks LA Green you guys are the best. Definately recomend these professionals.

Loved the work done by LA Green Development. They installed a new roof before the solar panel and a new HVAC system that is keeping my house super cool. David Cohen oversaw the whole project and was available for any questions or concerns. David's assistant, Vania is a real doll, always following up to make sure I was taken care of. A Team! The workers all did an amazing job and finished in record time. I was skeptical of solar companies but in so glad I trusted David and Vania. I have no regrets and am enjoying the benefits of the work done in my houses.

My husband and I are delighted with our 6.4 kW pv solar system designed and installed by LA Green Development. We're grateful to a friend of ours from who recommended them. Contacting LA Green Development was one of the smartest moves we've ever made. Liroy showed me he's the perfect point-man for their company as he endured my countless questions with great patience, a friendly demeanor and spot on advice. He handled all the various and necessary permits and coordinated with CA Power to set up our operating agreement. All flawlessly done. I met Liroy on installation day and was struck by his competence and dedication as he led his team to complete our 200 amp service upgrade and the solar system install in just over one day. Everything planned out to the last detail. No wasted motion. They cleaned up every bit of scrap and before leaving Liroy did a nice job explaining how our monitoring system works and how to access it. He also gave me some good, practical advice about a battery backup system. Being able to produce energy and receive credit from the power company for the excess is a very good thing. Being able to produce, store and use that energy whenever the grid is down may be priceless. Peace of mind, at the very least. It is our next goal and one we're confident LA Green Development will be able to help us with. Since then our system has been operating well above expectations. We've produced just over 6% of our average annual consumption in 12 1/2 days. It looks great up on our roof and we could not be more pleased. Thank you!

You tell me - but I will tell you how it all went down and you can decide if you like my review or not. This will feel like a Quentin Tarantino film with back and forths: A knock on the door - met with ""David"" from LA Green Development. My fiance wasn't home, but I wanted to hear what David had to say about the type of green programs LA Green Development had to offer. As I was aware of the rebate(s) being offered on solar, as this was my 3rd attempt to find a reasonable price. But, then we got to talking about other things I did want to have done too like landscaping, roof repair, a pool pump and updated main panel and moving that to its appropriate location. All this can have a 26% rebate! Or is that right?....
I had my fiance meet David too. Then we talked about the company, its history and the options that they could provide. We've never done this before so of course we're always apprehensive and we are DIY'ers. So he explained where the company has been in business for 17 years. But didn't separate the two. To clarify, the construction company has been in business for this long, not the Solar portion of the business. Solar has been in business much less than the construction side. Okay keep going...we talked and got comfortable with David, very nice young man. Super charming.
Now we meet him again to talk more about what wasn't talked about in our first meeting. My fiance said, hey David wants to come in so he can do some paper work. I was like what? We didn't think it was going to happen so fast. Next thing we know we're running hard pulled credit through PACE Funding. We are signing papers that look like they are quotes and reminders. Looking at everything afterwards - nope its a real contract, mixed among nonsense pages! And, we are looking at a scope of work for $105,000.00 for solar, roofing, landscaping, a main panel upgrade and a pool pump. After we signed and realized what just happened, we called our brother in AZ (yes its less expensive there) But, he explained to us basic costs and broke down the energy calculations like David did and the panel prices and quality, longevity of panels, we never asked about the longevity of the inverter that our brother in AZ talked about - that has a different life expectancy than the panels. Did you know that?
As a second measure we had our brother in AZ talk to ""David"" at LA Green Development over the phone. We knew we had a 3 day right to cancel. So our brother talks to David and David was able to answer a marginal amount of questions and didn't know some stuff.
After the call with David was over our brother in AZ called us back. Then we went over the costs with our brother in AZ, okay solar $40k, pump $1,200.00, roof repair $20k, landscaping $11k, cushion $5-10k = $77,200 - 82,200.00 why is it $105,000.00? Oh thats right, David told our brother in AZ, that ""they are getting back 26%!"" (So inflated the price to get my 26% rebate?) And, brother in AZ stated, ""Dude if the government audits that rebate and sees that you rebated the landscaping, you're in big trouble man. You cant do that."" Good gawd, last thing we want is that type of trouble. The truth is that the rebates can come from different entities. You have to figure all that out and you might not get it all in one tax year.
Mind you right after we signed at 9:45pm - David from LA Green Development said ""We start tomorrow morning. Permits every thing is online so its easy. And the engineer (site inspector) will be out in the early morning.""
David left and my fiance and I got to talking. We never got a picture showing us how the panels would go on. Or info on the panels, just verbal, nothing written. We didnt know about asking about the inverters.
My fiance got really nervous. ""Babe, they start tomorrow morning. Why so fast? Not even any time. And next morning that is so they can put us immediately on the hook for the $105,000 for 25 years."" I said ""...lets keep reading the contract hunny and see what it says. Ummm okay we're canceling!"" The contract is interesting. It makes sure it tells you about all the unforeseen charges that can come up aside from the $105,000.00 contract price - that of course is already a bit inflated, imo. Then the contract can change again based on this or these findings.
After our brother got off the phone with David, he called us back and said ""Look, I know Calif is much more expensive than it is here in AZ. But, breaking everything down, like they didn't - it was a flat price of 105,000.00 - you're overpaying."" he said. We decided to use our right to cancel and within 2 hours later I canceled, by email, text, voice mail and then email again. Making sure to email a copy of the right to cancel too.
I got confirmation this morning that it was canceled from Liroy.
Best practice?: Best not to answer knocks on doors. Live and learn moment. And I am sharing it with you to make your own determination on the situation.
If its too good to be true, it isn't real.

Matthew was great initially but now he is no longer with the company and I am left with a total landscaping mess! I don't know where everyone else got such great service but they have not provided me with ANYTHING CLOSE. Do NOT use this company! I paid tens of thousands of dollars for a project but the landscaping they claim to do so well is a total NIGHTMARE!!! There were 2 different crews that came because the first team was so horrible they got fired midway through the job. Another group came to ""fix"" what was left but they fixed nothing! They only picked up the mess the other crew left. Huge nails everywhere, equipment, turf scraps, etc. NOW, 2 1/2 months after the ""completion"" of my house, THIS is what my landscaping looks like. Drip system coming up, edges of turf installed is buckling and the rocks that are supposed to accent the yard is FULL OF WEEDS . All because NONE of the work was done correctly from the very beginning! I am livid! After multiple attempts of contacting them to see if they will stand behind their landscaper's work and fix this horrible nonsense, I can not get the courtesy of a return call. They have my money and now they are on to the next person. Obviously they only care if certain customers are 100% satisfied. I am surely NOT! The solar and other work was good , just good. But the mess they left in my attic (which I didn't even go into) and the horrible workmanship and lack of accountability for the landscaping will not allow me to recall anything other than this mess they left me with that is just going to destroy the curb appeal of my home or cost me more money to have fixed. Look at the pictures for yourself. Would you be happy after paying tens of thousands of dollars for landscaping that looked like mine after 2 1/2 months??? I doubt it seriously.

LA Green Development installed my home's solar array in 2020. I'm so happy to have made this choice out of the five or six regional businesses from whom i received quotes, and I have the following comments for LA Green and any prospective or potential customers:
1. My point of contact was their sales rep, Liroy. Liroy is also the engineer that designed the array, an installer who carried the panels up the ladder and attached them to the scaffolding, the team leader that coordinated the subcontracting electrician and roofer, administrator who coordinated documentation with the city and power company, and teacher who helped me to understand the contracts, physics, and utility of the panels and the monitoring app. It was my first solar project and i felt comfortable the entire time. He went out of his way to make sure i understood answers to the questions i had. This guy is worth his weight in gold.
2. The 16-panel install took 3 hours from arrival to departure. Beautiful coordination.
3. The App they use is user friendly and provides a high degree of visibility. This plus the fact that their systems use one microinverter per panel (which allows you to look at production for each panel individually) gives a really good sense of ownership and security.
4. The software used to estimate sunlight, which in turn is used to estimate the required surface area for the array to generate enough electricity to substitute what i use, has been spot on. I'm grid tied and this has worked out nicely.

What a jerk he is. Overcharged and did not complete work or do it properly. To top it off, his lousy, sloppy workers left a mess in our yard. Lots of roofing nails and pieces and scraps from the previous roof. He seems to pride himself on all the good reviews he receives, not realizing that customer service along with being neat and tidy counts, whether it is a messy type of job or not. I would certainly not recommend this company. I also decided against the quote for landscaping.

I am selling my home and the home inspector said the flashing on my gutters wasn't properly install and the buyers requested I get the roof inspected. I got on to google to find a roofing company to call and LA Green Development up. I called and spoke to a very nice woman on the phone who was willing to try to understand what I was describing and try to help. She recommended having one of there guys come out a do a free roof inspection. Liroy came out the next day ( he was 10 minutes late but he apologise) and was super friendly and inspected my roof. You would expect a company that gives free inspections to come out and try to find something or even make something up to make it worth their while. Liroy did not do that he told me my roof was in great shape, wrote up an inspection form I could give to the buyers to say the roof was in great shape and even offered to come back out and meet with the inspector if that's what the buyers wanted. He was extremely professional and helpful. Liroy is the company I would call again if I need anything in the future.
