Michelle E.We had a great experience working with Kidd Roofing from start to finish and would recommend them to others! Their work was high quality and their flexibility was greatly appreciated.
Our roof was over 25 years old and needed to be replaced but we kept kicking the can down the road until we sustained some hail damage during a storm. We didn't realize it immediately but the damage ended up causing a leak after another big thunderstorm which lead to our ceiling in an upstairs bedroom falling through from the water damage.
After seeing the first signs of the leak, we called Kidd Roofing and Casey came out within a few hours to temporarily repair the part of the roof that was damaged since more rain was forecasted for that afternoon. They were truly lifesavers coming out with no advanced notice and they didn't charge us for this repair.
They quoted us for a full roof replacement and were willing to work with us paying out of pocket rather than working directly with our insurance because our insurance had already provided us with a set amount for the damage. We got on the schedule for a few weeks out (the temporary repair they had done worked perfectly in the meantime) and the materials were delivered to our driveway a couple of days in advance.
The entire roof was replaced in a single day... the crew arrived in the morning and immediately got to work stripping the existing roof. The job was completed efficiently, the crew cleaned the area around our house well, and the end result was exactly what we wanted! The project manager came by the next day to do a walk around and double check everything.
HIGHLIGHTS:
* Responded to our initial inquiry and did a temporary repair within a few hours (no advanced notice)
* Got us a quote for a full roof replacement quickly
* Fair and reasonable pricing
* Communicated a start time through text and arrived on time
* Worked efficiently to get the job done in a single day
* Cleaned up the yard after the job was done so there were no materials or scraps left behind
* Beautiful work... I'm not a roofing expert but it looks fantastic and there haven't been any issues so far
* Final cost matched the initial quote
Honestly, I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about the experience and would highly recommend Kidd Roofing to others in the Austin area!
Rick L.Kidd Roofing and Matt Boyles are first class. Not only was response and communication excellent, Matt's solution to fully resolve our roof vent and flashing leaks was spot on. Project scope, pricing, and most important the results are first rate at the time and now months and months later. Thank you Matt and Kidd Roofing. Highly recommended!
we had a roof installed on two properties August 2023, and July 2023. I personally reside in one of the properties and the roof on this house has been an issue since day one so since the first week of September, I have been making contacts and pictures and the representative Alex Morgan would come out and look around and say there was nothing or I got an excuse that sideways rain, the inspector came back out just to see what the story was and he went up on the roof and found a tree limb underneath the shingles fasten under the shingles, and Mr. Morgan's response was the storm that we just recently had blew it under there being that our roof has been not even installed for a six month period of time. I have major continuing damage to the wall in the ceiling in my restroom now as far too, it is in the floor cause it's continuing to drip even though it's been fixed Mr. Morgan was very direct and specific on the methods he was going to use to repair and he has not stuck to his word the things that he said have not been done and he's actually applying sealant to other areas that have no buried on the actual leak in the back , and since it has been raining consistently for the last four days, I now have moist ceiling and it's brand new drywall. Alex decided to take responsibility for the leak that was in the front. That's where he told me that sideways rain was coming in a very very small space on the side of my house underneath the eve and it was traveling basically 9 feet down the front of the house and then turn left 2 feet in where the leak continued to say, the ceiling was torn out and the gentleman by the name of Charlie came to install tape and float paint and texture the ceiling and they left my front room completely open on the coldest day of the year, but when they did put the drywall up it bowing down in the same exact area. The leak was almost going to break through, and Mr. Morgan again tells me that oh well, that's because the frame the framing is bent, which its not. I reached out to Mr. Morgan yesterday upon discovering that there was water underneath my floor due to his lack of somebody lying a fire under his butt to get this done and so my repair tally keeps growing and growing but he had no common courtesy to even return my phone call or text message yesterday after I let him know that his repairs had failed he had told us that he was going to get in touch with his boss and he was going to have his boss come out here and look and his boss was going to put together a specialized team and the only people that I've ever seen out here are Alex Esteban, Charlie and supposedly Charlie supervisor, Rene my faith that humanity still exists at this point, lingers via thread, and the fact that Mr. Morgan always decided to downplay my concerns for the leaks in my house after they just replaced my roof when your walls are pliable and you can push them and they give that as a huge issue I got pushback. Apparently he thinks because I'm a woman I don't know but that's a very not OK number two woman heavily offended but when his crew did get up on the roof after that, you know he told me that it was sideways rain it was making the front of my house leak, and the crew waved them up onto the roof to show him that there was a legitimately an issue and at that point they became the flash team they literally did so many repairs with just flashing but in the long run the repairs that need to be done have been skirted around. I've been given Miss information I've been let straight by Mr. Morgan and if I have to say anything at all I mean, I'm sure that kidd roofing is a wonderful company outside of this individual situation but Mr. Morgan's representation of such leaves. A very very bad taste in my mouth , I would tell you to run in the absolute opposite direction away from kidd roofing to avoid becoming a victim of that matter victim of his stories, victim of his promises, that noone becomes a casualty of his bad business skills and misrepresenting the facts of title and knowledge
Kidd Roofing replaced our roof in 2013. We recently filed a claim with our insurance company due to possible damage from the June 2023 hailstorm. After the independent adjuster climbed down from inspecting our roof he repeatedly commented on what a great roof we have! He compared it to other roofs he'd inspected and talked about the attention to detail on the ridge vent... I probably started yawning, but he was really enthusiastic about the workmanship! He said it would be a ""coin toss"" as to whether our insurance company approved any repairs or replacement at this time. (Strikes were visible but not anything bad enough to cause leaks.) After commenting on what a great roof we have, the desk adjuster did approve us for a new roof, and we will for sure be using Kidd Roofing again!
I work for a national builder and Gilbert with Kidd Roofing has always gone above and beyond. As a company, their professionalism and quality workmanship is superior to other roofing companies we have used in the Austin market.
They did a great job replacing my roof. Pricing is fair and they put a lot of effort into protecting and cleaning the property after the roof was done.
Nice and polite sales people. That's the only high in my dealings with Kidd. They promised to manage the whole project and ended up having me contact and manage contractors to get the work done. They promised to deal with my insurance but never did. I had to work with the insurance to get the paperwork submitted, get checks, get depreciation etc. I even had to correct wrong estimates - fortunately the insurance was ok to approve new amounts for the 3rd. time for the same item. They offered additional services which were not part of the scope which I didn't agree to hire. They simply did not perform services that WERE part of the scope claiming the extra was required for them to deliver what was already on their estimate. The project included replacing the gutters. It's been weeks and the gutters are leaking in different spots whenever there's a small amount of rain. They promised SEVERAL times to come check it. They did come back once after some insistence, looked at it but the problem has never been resolved.
They don't read emails or texts. They don't reply and sometimes even ask questions that have already been discussed previously showing they don't really manage each customer individually.
But... they are pretty quick to submit invoices...
Josh O.After insurance approved payment for a full roof replacement after a windstorm, I was thankful my insurance company was able to provide a list of roofers. After doing A LOT of research, Kidd Roofing rose to the top, and thankfully my research would soon prove why.
In what seemed like minutes of sending a request to have someone contact me, my phone rang. Paul Lester with Kidd Roofer answered all my questions (I have never needed to engage a contractor before) and set an appointment to assess the roof. Paul Lester arrived on time and applied some temporary patches/fixes on the most exposed areas. Paul Lester had a quote sent on time, and based on my research, talking with the insurance company and others, the quote was reasonable and competitive for what a quality repair job for the size roof I have would be expected to cost. With the quote approved, a time for installation was set.
Paul Lester's crew arrived on time and did an excellent job. They took care and time to do a thorough clean-up job. In fact, besides the great-looking new roof, one wouldn't know major work had occurred earlier in the day. Even better, they arrived on time and finished ahead of schedule! Afterward, Paul Lester was very patient and helpful as a combination of holidays and COVID caused some insurance slowdowns. Paul Lester remained very helpful, patient, and accommodating, despite all these hassles (on my and the insurance company's end).
I cannot recommend Kidd Roofing and thank Paul Lester enough. If you have a project that requires a friendly-professional, timely, competent, and competitive contractor/roofer, my advice? Give Kidd Roofing a call.
Stefanie B.Mr. Davis Grant came and looked at the home damage and sent us the estimate. He told us the job would take about one and a half days to complete. The estimate was not an itemized estimate but we accepted the estimate because he promised it would be done correctly supervised by himself and done efficiently and expeditiously.
The work took close to a month to be completed. Mr. Davis Grant did not communicate with us on when he would send his crew. He did not give us any advance notice We would sit and wait for the crew to show up. He did not arrive with his crew and did not supervise his crew. When the crew showed up to install gutters they brought the wrong color. We told them it was wrong. They argued with us. We called Mr Grant and he said he would look into the matter later. The crew reluctantly left. Yet again no communication from Mr. Grant. We kept calling him.
When finally he sent his crew with the correct color gutter the crew started installing the gutter wrong. My stepdad had to supervise the crew. We called Mr. Grant to inform him that the installation was incorrect. He told us he does not have the time to be down south. We reminded him they it's his job to supervise his crews.
Two pieces of the gutter were still the wrong color and another piece was scratched and damaged by the machine and/or the crew. They had to come back another day to repaint.
We expressed our disappointment and dissatisfaction with the lack of communication and lack of workmanship and quality of the job. We asked for a discount. Mr. Grant was less than professional and cooperative or courteous. He repeatedly had said he left messages with us or our parents when in reality he hadn't. He originally told us he would discount the cost to 2300 for all the mistakes and lack of quality. Then he refused. Additionally, he refused to do business with me and would only contact and speak with the man of the house, AKA my husband. I was left off all emails and my calls went unanswered time and again. But when my husband called or emailed, it was responded to. Misogyny and terrible service? Uh uh.
I would not recommend this company to anyone unless you are looking to punish yourself.
Over the summer, I had a review from Kidd Gutters, a subsidiary of Kidd Roofing. I turned away other providers and notified the Kidd sales guy that he had my business and sent over an accepted proposal. They waffled about supply chains and weeks went by. I called again and my sales guy was leaving the business and he promised another sales guy would get to me. Weeks. When I called and got that guy he claimed he was digging out from the last guy's backlog but would get back to me. Never did. Now their office says he's ""retiring"" and well, I guess I'm SOL.
Cut to today. Over the weekend I sent an e-mail to the Kidd Roofing page and I got a call today (credit where it's due) and they informed me that they are dissolving their gutter business and wouldn't honor a quote that wasn't finalized into a contract.
So now I'm stuck looking for someone to do the work. I won't work with anything Kidd in the future. I wouldn't recommend you do.
