I signed a contract to have a new roof August 25 2023 & was told that I could have a barrel roof done in 6 or 7 weeks.it's now Dec 23 2023 & all they did was took off old roof & put up liner.they continuously lied to me & were so rude especially the mngr ( Christene).the owner has stopped answering vm & text messages for the past 10 days.they must b out spending my 50% deposit I paid buying Christmas presents. they didn't even provide a portal for there workers & I didn't have running water .the owner told me they were driving 3 miles to use bathroom & I asked him if would like to buy a bridge in Brooklyn if he believed.just an absolute nightmare especially since I'm trying to sell my house with no approximate date of when job will b completed.

Customer service is one of their down falls.
Irresponsible workmen.
There workmen placed incorrect colored tiles in place toward the end of the install. They apperently ran out and just finished the job off to get done as the tiles were a whole different color from the rest of the roof.
Irresponsble inspection
When picking up the final payment, I was told the tile just needed to be wash ed off with rain. It Rained and I called ""BS"" on Robert's excuse after he received the check.
Irresponsible management
After 5 notices, and 2 phone calls, they sent their Crown Tile rep to inspect, and it was definately not just discolored, plainly incorrect tile. In my follow up they maintained they had sent their own management inspection (who never made it known to me he was there). We are now past three months of the hideous looking mistake that could have / should have been corrected in March.
This business model of ignoring and lying about call-back promises to a Customer, is not one that can be recommended to future Sun City Center residents. My patience has run out. I contracted in Oct'22, Tear-off and install Feb-Mar'23, and as of Jul 20, still no contact back to me even acknowedging the mistake, let alone any hope of correcting it.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, dont you agree?

Kennedy did a good job on our roof about seven or eight years ago. When our roof leaked after hurricane Ian, I called them to check on it. It took a few calls to get them out, but they came on December 21. They said that we needed a new chimney cap and charged us a high price. I thought that we would get good service since we paid good money. After six weeks with no word, I called them. Since then my husband and I have repeatedly called them and all we get is lip service. Four weeks ago they said that the cap was about ready, but they wouldn't set a date to complete the repair, nor would they issue a refund. On Feb 27 someone called to see if we were happy with the install...which hasn't yet happened. Here it is ten weeks later and we have no refund and no cap. And another storm is heading our way. P.S. The company in town which specializes in fireplace caps would have done it in three weeks for half of the cost. Go elsewhere.

Let's do this.

In January 2022 we signed an agreement for Kennedy Roofing to redo our flat roof after it collapsed. When they came out and took the first of three $1,000 payments, we asked them to also look at the shingle roof. Since we weren't sure what caused the screen room roof to collapse we wanted to ensure it wasn't an issue with the shingle roof.
They assured us the shingle roof was fine, with at least another 5-8 years.

After a few months they finally got around to doing the job. Busy busy- but they had our money. Get on it.

One of the things we had added was called a ""taper system"", which basically angles the flat roof a bit so water doesn't pool and become a mosquito fest or cause the roof to collapse from water weight. That was backordered, which was why they claim it took them several months to actually do the job.

Once the job was completed we thought everything was fine. A few months ago- keep in mind this roof is less than a year old, the brand new ceiling started to crack and water began to drip. We called them, as it is their roof which is leaking. After numerous calls with no results, we informed the office we'd have no choice but to contact the BBB.

They called back within 2 minutes.
Had someone out the next day.
Amazing.

The young man who came out sealed some valleys and said it wasn't done properly. He also insinuated that we DO NOT HAVE A TAPER SYSTEM. He left and said they would be in touch.

Do you think they called us to resolve? Nope. We had to call, finally being put through to Robert, the operations manager (?). He informed us that a leaking roof isn't their problem, too bad so sad.

The contract we have is quite clear, line 15, that they are to seal eaves, valleys, anything that can cause a leak.

We have tried to work with them, we really did. The lady who is ""in charge"", Christine, is never able to be found unless it's regarding the ""sullying of the company name"".

Hey man, if you don't want a bad name don't do a crap job and then refuse to fix it.

TL/DR- they lied and won't fix their mistakes. Refuse to honor contract.

Avoid them unless you want to throw money away and have a tremendous headache by being told it's not their problem.

As an asides, if it was the shingle roof leaking, that still should not affect the flat roof. They are 2 separate things.

Don't use them. Save yourself.

-neat thing on the back of their contract says we can't sue but we can arbitrate, which should have been our first warning to run.

I recommend Kennedy Construction for a roof replacement. They were courteous, and the workers seemed to be highly skilled and efficient. The process went pretty smoothly and didn't disrupt my life at all. They all worked very hard and the roof looks beautiful. The office was responsive and worked well with me, despite all the issues with delays in materials delivery and scheduling, which I believe was due to the supply chain and labor problems, and other things outside their control. I had some issues with clean-up, but in general, I am very satisfied with my beautiful new roof.

So I said I would change my initial review and I will. It would have gone from a 1 star to a 5 star, but the communication leaves something to be desired. Found only one nail , and picked up just a little pink paper from the backyard. Our pool cleaners did compliment the crew for not messing up the pool. Thank you for a beautiful roof. Just waiting for the mitigation report, no one told us about that either

I comparison shopped when I needed my roof replaced. This company stood out and had a very competitive price. They scheduled my job in faster than it took me to comparison shop, were prompt and beat the rains. They also cleaned up extremely well afterwards and disposed of the old shingles. After discussing the job with some other contractors, I was getting concerned that some do not even listen or even check out the roof well before preparing an estimate. Kennedy Construction Group Listened, prepared a thorough estimate and exceeded my expectations.

I had an appointment today for a quote to get some reconstruction done on our roof, as well as a new roof altogether. The entire 2nd half of the day was planned around this appointment. It was only a couple minutes after the scheduled time but I thought I would call to see if there was an ETA so I could continue/adjust my plans for the evening. Upon answering, I was given the reasons that they had gotten busy that day and might be able to make it out later. Due to already made plans, that wouldn't work for me so we had to cancel altogether. If this company can't even remember when appointments are nor contact people to let them know there's an issue with the original schedule, I'm not sure we can trust them to fully complete a job in a timely manner. We choose to take our business elsewhere because of this.

I received 2 estimates for a roof leak. Bob Stephens of KCG came out to provide the estimate. He did not get on the roof or go into the attic & quoted $1,500 to repair the roof leak. The 1st contractor did go into the attic & onto the roof & quoted $3,000. I wanted to go with the more expensive quote but the home warranty would not cover it. After dealing with the warranty company I decided to go with KCG but the quote expired & I scheduled Bob to come back out. The scheduled time was 2-4p. At 4:05p I called to see when I could expect Bob. The receptionist stated that Bob was delayed at his previous stop & would call me in an hour to let me know when he would arrive. I said to cancel the whole repair. Bob immediately called & stated that KCG would honor the previous quote. I accepted the $1,500 quote & submitted this to the warranty company which was approved. After the repair was complete I checked the attic during a storm & the roof was leaking in the exact same spot prior to the repair. I called KCG & they stated that there are additional leaks that need repaired for additional cost. I complained that these additional leaks should have been included in the original quote (which I assume is what the other contractor's quote included & is why the quote was higher). I explained that the warranty company is very difficult & now I have to submit a claim for the same leak. KCG stated that they will help deal with the warranty company. So I scheduled someone to come out to provide a second quote to submit to the warranty company. The scheduled time was 9-11a. At 10:30a I called KCG to get an update on when I can expect the technician since I previously had an issue with timeliness. The receptionist said she would call the tech & call me back with an update. At 11:05a I did not hear back so I called KCG again. I was informed that the technician called out sick & that I need to reschedule the appointment. I complained that if I did not call about an update I would never have known that the tech was not coming & this is the 2nd time this has happened. KCG said that they cannot control when people get sick & that the roofing industry is busy & that people can't always be on time.
