Yes, Kayco installed a roof. Yes, they referred us to an amazing adjuster who helped us navigate homeowners insurance. Everything else about our experience was subpar to say the least. We cannot recommend Kayco Roofing, especially for insurance work.

During our roof install there were 4 damages done to the house: a piece of rotten wood was missed on the patio, water leaked onto the office ceiling, someone fell through the ceiling in our pantry, and the gutters on our house were detached and were not reattached. We were not notified of any of these damages prior to returning home and finding them ourselves. I notified Kayco promptly about the first 3 issues and they have been resolved, although my husband had to lose wages to be home for the drywall repair. While I understand that accidents happen, many of these damages would have been avoidable with careful work and verifying repairs before leaving a worksite.

When a hurricane hit, we noticed the gutters flopping around. We called out a gutter company to do the repair. Upon arrival, they found that the gutters were not attached to our house and some of the hardware was still sitting inside the gutters (which was detached during our roof install.) Clark was informed of these damages a few weeks ago and agreed via text message to reimburse us for the $150 gutter repair within a week. Funds have not yet been received 3 weeks later.

We were completing this project through homeowners insurance. The first check was submitted when we received it. There was a delay in us receiving our second check because the county took 3 weeks to inspect the roof. We were never told that final payment would be due within 60 days of install regardless of the status of our insurance check until we were threatened with a lien. We had to scramble to front the money to cover the remaining cost of our insurance work. Kayco was in direct contact with the adjuster (who they recommended) and were well aware of the pending status of our check.

On October 18th, I was blindsided with the threat of a lien over insurance work and obviously my initial reaction was not pleasant. Clark was also not kind in his responses. Stating things like, ""We don't run business like that. If I would have known you didn't have money to pay your bill, I wouldn't have replaced your roof.""

On October 19th, I called Clark back when I was calm hoping we could talk through all of this. I fully admitted that my initial reaction wasn't kind, but he had no remorse for his. I tried to give him feedback as a consumer but he cut me off, got defensive, and made rude comments such as: ""I've been in business 15 years, I don't need your feedback."" ""It doesn't take 60 days to get an insurance check."" ""To be honest, I don't want to talk to you anymore because we aren't getting anywhere."" He also kept sarcastically stating ""enjoy the free roof."" He got me upset and I ended up hanging up on him because he wouldn't let me get a word in and I didn't want to over-speak or react emotionally.

A little while later, my husband text Clark and let him know that we managed to pull together the money to front the final payment, but we would be leaving honest reviews based on our experience. Clark then mouthed off to my husband via text message, continuing to gaslight us.

In conclusion, the quality of the roof seems to be satisfactory. The salesman was nice. The reference to the adjuster was great.

Everything else about the transaction was subpar: the avoidable damages, scheduling repairs of those errors, loss of wages to be home for repairs, snarky comments from the owners, and manipulative business practices by demanding that we front money for a job paid for by insurance.

As of November 9th, we have yet to receive our $150 reimbursement check. I waited 3 weeks, giving Kayco the benefit of the doubt prior to writing this review and filing a complaint with the BBB.

Thank you, Kevin, for the great new roof! Love it!

I very much appreciated your diligent and effective communication throughout (answering all of my questions, along with providing wonderful insight and advice). The roofing crew worked hard and fast, cleaning up each day before they left. Office staff, especially the Manager, were extremely helpful. In addition to all of the above, competitive pricing was key. The wind mitigation recommendation was very beneficial.

THANK YOU!!

Kayco Roofing came highly recommended by my neighbor next door. They realized that I needed assistance quickly and arranged to replace my storm damaged roof. Kayco Roofing did indeed replace it. My old roof couldn't have made it through another hurricane season. Kevin was very professional and likable. His crew was also professional as well. They were friendly and courteous and my roof was completed in record time. It looks so good. I'm very pleased with Kayco's office staff as well. They expedited and worked me into their extremely busy schedule faster than any competitor offered. Clean up was thoroughly done and everyone was so respectful and kind. Thank y'all for taking such great care of a very discerning senior citizen who usually isn't easily pleased or satisfied with most. If only more folks were as nice as Kayco people? Thanks Again! I too will highly recommend y'all to as many people as I can. I'm Scampi Oni in Middleburg, Fl.

KayCo damaged my porch roof while installing a new roof on my home. The porch was not included in the project, and the project manager said he would have it repaired since it was their fault 100%
I've been getting the runaround ever since with one excuse after another. It's now going on over a year. The owner Clark Briggs won't take my calls, return my calls or authorize the work to be finished.
Yet this is what he says about himself on his website:
""Owner, Clark Briggs, has built KayCo Roofing on the principle of exceeding customer expectations.""
That's not true, and I would NOT use this company.

Kayco Roofing is the best roofing company in North Florida. They showed up to our initial appointment which I can not say that about other local companies. I got my estimate before they left which again can not be said about other companies. Their price was competitive and they use the best materials. A++ experience!

Did a repair for me 3 years ago and was really impressed so they were the only roofer I called when it was time to replace and I was beyond pleased. Top notch from the sales presentation to the final clean up. Thanks Kayco team.

After contacting 3 different roofing companies I decided on KayCo. From the beginning Mike and Cory kept me informed with everything from scheduling, trailer / material drop off to installation. Eric was also readily available to answer any questions or concerns I had. I opted for architectural shingles but with what I ll refer to as peel n stick underlayment in the event I decide down the road to have solar installed. I not only had the roof on the main house done but also on the two pumphouses / outbuildings as well. The only request I had was to keep as much of the integrity of the house as possible given that my father built it 50 years ago. Everyone at KayCo, respected my request, and put up with my stories and my memories of the original construction process. They even ensured cedar was used on the second pumphouse that my Father never was able to finish, to match to other one and the main house. Even after the roofs were completed and everything was said and done, Mike still made it a point to come back and run the magnet around every building. I never asked for this, never called with an issue of finding simplex / roofing nails or screws because they put tarps down 10 to 15ft wide around the building. He just took it upon himself to call and come by to run the magnet again taking that extra step. A huge thanks to everyone at KayCo! When it's time to replace the roof on the barn I ll definitely be calling them!

Had this company put a standard roof and gutters on our house a few years ago! They did a excellent job and if that's what you need, by all means hire them. We thought we would use them to reroof our screened in porch on the back of the house. The roof also doubles as a balcony off of our master bedroom. We contracted with them to do a Gaco roof system which is a paint on system. They stripped the old roof off and changed a few sheets of plywood. They sent us a video of how the install should go. I watched the video and then watched there people prepare the surface. (Not the same prep) they then applied the paint ( 2 coats) and it looked like crap. You could see every little seam and nail sticking up! The seams should have been sanded and made smooth, the nails hammered down and sealed over. When I texted their representative to tell him how bad it looked, he came out and assured my wife that another coat on the surface would take care of the problem. It didn't! I texted him again and told him it still looked bad and told him he didn't make enough money for the amount of complaining I was going to do if they didn't make this right. To have his supervisor call me. Well this idiot ( Supervisor) told me I was one of those types that always complains and that the job looks just fine! ( this dummy never even came out to see the job!) so they put another coat (3rd) on and then ran short of material so they couldn't finish. Waited 20 days for them to come back and put a 4th coat on and it still looks like crap! Don't use this company for anything but a standard roofing job. Their customer service skills suck and they don't communicate with you at all. Outside of the first time when they started the job, we didn't get any notice that their people were coming out to do any work. Can't blame this one on someone else.... they did all the work or lack of it themselves! Buyers Beware!

Estimate given on February 18 with 2 week lead time. Notified them to call me before coming because of dog. Subcontractor showed up without materials to finish, and did not bother calling beforehand which could have turned out really badly had the dog (Dogo Argentino) been out in the yard.

Rescheduled for Saturday March 12 with no show or call to say that they were not coming. They rescheduled again to drop off materials by mid day yesterday and they did not show until well after 4 pm. They again scheduled to be here between 9 and 10 am today, then moved to after lunch, then moved to around 3 pm, and as of time of this writing 4:45 pm on March 16, they still have not shown up to finish work.

Not sure how the quality of their work will hold up but the timliness and service have been nothing less than ABYSMAL. All of the people who gave this business high accolades should have their consciences checked. 3 whole days wasted because of these clowns and less than 8 days to have roof fixed and pack out before settlement on the 24th. Spoke with owner who did not seem to have a care in the world about the service performed, but cared that after 3 days of no show, that I started using bad language to describe the situation.

And if all of this isn't bad enough, they have managed to gain the detest of several of the local realtors here already (it will be all of them by end of week) and we all know how word travels in a small town don't we kids?

And if you are reading this Clark (owner of KayCo), your business and reputation has been effectively ruined for Keystone Heights, Melrose, and the surrounding areas which has tripled in population over the last 5 years and is still growing by leaps and bounds.

Good job buddy!

I would never ever use this company. Their customer service is terrible. They came and assessed our roof for a possible leak and couldn't find an active leak. We asked to send us their assessment in written form as we are selling our home and we needed it for the inspection. They refused to provide us a written assessment saying the manager told the roofer that it was against their policy?? They dont want to do it because they weren't getting paid work for this. Bad Bad business ethics.
