**Editing* . they asked us to remove the review - said they are and have been working with the owner of the company.

I echo the sentiment of other reviewers. I used j and s based on Google reviews. Every time the owner came out he talked a good talk. But, the reality was subbed labor and 1/2 repaired work. I finally paid someone else to do the repair and it was done right the first time. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

James Shoffner and his team repaired our roof as well as the extensive interior damage from the leak. They arrived on time and completed the repairs--drywall, painting, etc.--in a thoroughly professional manner. Their bid was reasonable and they stuck to it. After receiving 2 other outrageously high bids, it was a pleasure to work with J&S. We were extremely pleased with their work!

I hired J&S roofing to replace the roof on my house. I met with James to look at the roof, and decide on what I wanted for the new roof. The owner seemed like a reasonable genuine person at first, but once into the process it was easy to see, I wasn't going to get my money's worth for this project. After the guys finally came out to replace the roof, I realized the owner of J&S had subcontracted my roof out. Clearly seen when one of the guys working had no idea who the owner was. On top of that the guys were very unprofessional. The owner assured me he would be out there to monitor the guys and insure everything went as planned. Instead, he only showed up three days for a few minutes. The guys that did the roof seemed as if they had done one before, but there is not a single straight cut on my roof. It looks poorly done. Every cut is at a different angle and the metal does not even extend to the edge of the roof. It should extend 2in over. The initial time frame for the roof was extended to over double the original time frame. At this point we had already had to have one leak fixed on our brand new roof. Next came the gutters, another subcontracted company came out and did the gutters. After seeing the finished product, the drops on the gutters were no where close to correct, on one end of the house the gutter dropped 4in, on the other about an inch. The correct fittings were not used for the down spouts either. So the company came back out and redid the gutters seeing they had made mistakes. This time they looked good until after the first rain storm and we realized the water from the roof ran behind the gutters instead of in them. The problem was reported to The owner on multiple occasions. On our six month inspection the problem was finally addressed, a new guy came out with the owner of J&S to look at the gutters. He said it was an easy fix and arranged to fix it 3 weeks later. The owner did no inspecting of the roof, it was more of a social event. At this time there was also another leak which the owner of said he would have to go and get a part to fix the leak and would be out the next day, we still have not had it fixed or heard from the owner of J&S even after trying to call him. The gutter issue was still not resolved. The company that did them this time left tools and garbage scattered around the house and nails still in to roof. I spoke with the guy about this and he said he lived to far away to justify coming back but when he realized he left a $28 caulk gun he assured he would be coming back, he never showed up. We have had to hire another company to fix the gutter issues tracing the problem down to the roof not extending to over the edge as it is supposed to along with all of the angled cuts. We also had to have this company fix the leak. Even though we were assured by the owner we have a 15 year guarantee. The owner is a very social person who prefers to socialize rather than work, he fails to follow through with so called promises and the 15 year guarantee.

I wish there was a zero star or negative
I would encourage homeowners to stay away from this company.
One star is definitely too much to rate this company.
After paying another company to fix a small section of my driveway / May 2015/ total $3000, James of J&S roofing, who was hired to repair my roof, advised me that the driveway contractor was ripping me off, was incorrectly doing the repairs, had cheap concrete, and that he James was a Cobb County inspector and was going to 'pull the other contractors license for the 'not to code ' job. He and the other contractor had a huge fight in my front yard, attracting passers-by, which was quite embarrassing. James said ultimately my driveway would sink again, crack and fail.
I believed James, fired the guy and got no refund, but was more concerned that the job was inferior, so hired James to do the job. James made a big issue that I was a single woman, he wouldn't take advantage of me and that he could do the job much more efficiently, up to code, at half the price. Well all that was a lie. James more than doubled the agreed upon price, did a horrific job on my driveway and now after 7000, my driveway is cracked, broken and sinking, not straight, not lined up with the rest of the driveway, has cement splashes throughout the older section of my driveway and James has failed/refused to fix it claiming that a truck drove on my driveway
James has missed several appointments to repair the driveway, and when he did come out, he came with another guy, I suppose to intimidate me, claiming he was a police officer and was going to take pictures to report to his insurance company that it was my fault why the repaired part of the driveway is cracked, raised in one section, sinking in the other etc.
Everything , plus more, that James said the other contractor was doing wrong, is what James did wrong.
James has a very short, brash temper and has told me off, insulted me and called me a liar on several occasions. His constant assertions to the fact that I am a single woman have made it clear that he has taken advantage of me because of that. It has been a total nightmare to deal with him.
The company 'Homeadvisor.com' is where I found J & S roofing. They have been unable to get James to fix his mistakes, and have had little communication with me regarding fixing the problem and therefore would recommend you stay far from using that service

J&S Roofing in Douglasville, GA. Still waiting on covered warranty roof and other repairs since November 2013 it is now 3/21/2014. Also hired to do repairs is laundry room due to water damage and to remove a fireplace on a outside load bearing wall got three estimates went with him, needed two joist repaired, sub floor, tile & new water heater in laundry room. Noticed new tile cracking and floor not level just like before I had repairs done. I got under house and rotten joist sistered with 2x4s laundry room floor buckling up same as before. Since he did not do the repairs when he had the floor open I had to rip everything out and start over. He was going to repair it and reframe walls etc I had to supply materials which I would not have had to if he would have did correctly when he had the floor open. This was also Nov. and why I noticed the roof damage having to get in attic to see where electrical was before I started working. Call him he's always going to get someone out next week or call you back, never does. Called him again I say I have already repaired laundry room joist I want my money back he says that's not his fault starts talking about my bathroom I say yes I know about my bathroom I am talking about the laundry room not my bathroom. I had bad joist in bathroom also but I had planned on remodel with someone else so his responsibility was for the laundry room only which was not done correctly. I have a million pictures and when he did the walk through in Nov. in front of my entire family promised to get this repaired, he is just trying to weasel out. Meanwhile water heater has leaked at PRV from day one, did not install a drain pan sent his guy back out on that one worker actually said it was code but he was cheap. Also asked why there was no drain from pan to crawl so his guy drills ones into new tile into joist looks like a drain line until under house and see in does not even go all the way though joist. The new wall where fireplace was removed is bowed out and just looks awful and I have three cracked rafters I have found so far. I have bad OSB all over my roof he allowed for ""ten free"" sheets of plywood as the contract reads and I paid extra for another 5 or 6 sheets I have found three water damaged ones so far. I have enough pics/witness and such could do a small court claim I have not decided yet. Would I recommend him NO does not stand by his work blames everyone else for problems. I hired Finlay Roofing to do siding, new windows, gutters and deck. I had one issue with deck and within one week they were back out and it was repaired. Finlay also gave me a estimates for these other repairs they were higher so lesson learned cheap sometimes means = cutting corners.
