I used JP a couple of years ago for siding, downstairs windows and gutters. They were amazing. Salesperson was great, installation, project manager. It was great service they resolved all my issues answered all my questions. I loved them enough I referred several people to them.

Fast forward to March 2024 and the salesperson is new to me. (Not sure if he is new to the company.) Home visit was okay. I provided specific details on what I did NOT want. And what brands were a firm no. (Upstairs windows). He talked a lot, not needed as I reminded him a couple of times I was a previous customer. He told me I would have the quote that evening (Monday). Fine.

I received the quote late that week. It was not urgent, but don't provide a timeline and then not stick to it nor give me an update. I started to question if he forgot about me. Then when I get the quote it is specifically for what I said I did not want. In addition, the cost was just a lump sum with no details. Now that the brand is wrong, the price is pretty high - there is no additional information to assure me that you got the rest of the correct.

I emailed the owner and the salesperson that I was not heard and this was not what I asked for. They replied back to me with radio silence. I would recommend the old company. This new version leaves a lot to be desired- especially if customer service is important to you.

UPDATE: The owner of JP called and accepted responsibility for the electrical issues and repairs and will discount the siding bill to reflect the $5953 in charges. We are paying for the whole house surge protector to bring it to code.
There have been threads off and on about siding companies. We interviewed 3 and went with JP Exteriors. Some of it went well and some of it was a disaster. The salesman was knowledgeable, notifications were prompt, delivery of materials was on time but not the right items as a giant pile of OSB appeared but we were scheduled for 1"" foam board, a dumpster was placed across the entire driveway but they cleaned up every day. Site supervisor introduced himself and gave me a card with cell #. Found out later the company only uses subcontractors-not employees.

The crew removed the old siding and black paper then rocked / yanked our electric meter off the side of the house to put the siding on behind it. UNFORTUNATELY this caused them to short out our electric meter as one of the screws that used to hold the meter to the house fell onto the connection of the city 120V power line in the box. It not only caused shorts and outages at our house but apparently in the house behind ours. The first we knew about this was around 2am when the smoke alarm began to blast and power went on and off for hours. Finally in the morning resetting the breakers seemed to help. We contacted JP but their take was electric was not their thing. More problems through the next day and we called out both Austin Electric and Salt Electricians to diagnose and resolve the issues we were having.
The crew did a really great job of putting on the siding and painting it. I wish they had done the required contact to the city of Austin to have the electric meter removed properly and reinstalled. The repairs and city meter fee amounted to over $7000 and took over 6 hours to resolve leaving us without power all that time. I am also minus 1 freezer we used for the food pantry and not sure what other electric damage was done.
I would be forewarned that just yanking the electric meter off the old siding and gluing it back to the house is dangerous and costly.

We contracted with JP exteriors for a whole house siding project following the 2023 Round Rock hail storm / hell storm. Communication and scheduling has been smooth. The work crews are professional and efficient.

The owners and project managers have been responsive and collaborative, and we were juggling the complexity of a concurrent window replacement project. When some exterior cables were not re-routed optimally, we reached out for help and the issue was fixed.

The quality of the carpentry and details on the new Hardie siding is fantastic. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work, especially for the cost of project. I highly recommend JP Exteriors for siding projects and home exterior projects. This is a high caliber, customer-centric contractor that is worthy of trust when you need to spend a chunk of cash on a big house project.

The crew was fantastic and told me right away that that the estimator didn't order enough materials for the job and that more would be delivered the next day. The estimator didn't ask or know to add in some materials to bring the siding up to code until I brought it to his attention. Part of it was at my expense and I still question that cost. The crew cleaned up, was polite and the office was very responsive to any questions I had. I would use JP Exteriors again in the future. I would just question to make sure enough materials are ordered so your project is not delayed. The hail storm sure was a mess and they helped in an organized manner that took a lot of stress off my shoulders.

JP Exteriors provided the best estimate to replace all the siding and paint the exterior. They did all the work as scheduled (except for some delays due to rain) and accommodated our requests and suggestions. We are very happy with the result.

As a follow up to my April review. After months of waiting, I finally got the windows. Poor installation left me with spray foam bulging out of the caulking (they did come out to fix that). I still am waiting for 1 window, which came (or was installed) crooked. The first replacement was the ""wrong size"". That was in July. Almost October now and haven't heard ""boo"" about the reordered window.

I have had new windows installed on 3 homes now (one in MO and one in FL), this is the first time that it did not go well. If I can't even get the original order finished when there is 1/2 the $ for the purchase on hold, what chance is there of any needed warranty work being accomplished?

My concerns were hardly ""Covid-related supply issues"", as I was told. Amazingly, two hours after posting my review, I was informed that my window came in that day! (on order since July). Lack of communication is my biggest gripe, along with so-so quality install and acceptable, but not great quality windows. The only times someone got back to me quickly was after a review was published....

I needed some work done on the siding on my house, and they did a great job exactly in the way they said they would do it and for a good price. Highly recommend JP Exteriors!

I've used JP for three houses, my residence and both my duplexes. I was a little nervous on the first job because they were one of the lower bids, but they did a great job. My house looks beautiful. The crew was efficient, cleaned up the site when they were done, and finished on time. Likewise when they did my duplexes. I also had them do the windows on those and my tenants are really pleased.

JP replaced our aging gutters with new, better looking and slightly larger gutters. They also repaired some weather damaged/aged facia. Smart and efficient gutter and repair crews, super knowledgeable foreman and supervisors. Had to reschedule a few times due to weather, but JP made the schedule work regardless.

They are replacing our chimney right now. Good crew. Will repost with before and after pictures once they are done.,

Their professionalism inspires confidence, for sure. Great group - honest, fair - wish I'd heard of them years ago. Highly recommend.

Thanks Matt & team. We replaced our cardboard siding with James hardie board. Our house is transformed and were highly impressed with the teams attention to detail and communication throughout the process. Looking forward to working with JP on future projects.
