I normally only write reviews when I'm either extremely disappointed or satisfied with companies and let me tell you I couldn't be more satisfied with Journey Builders. I had the original roof on my home which was built in the 1980s prior to getting this project done and like many others wasn't expecting rains like this in California. I knew I needed a new roof and called multiple companies. Mason from this company stopped by to do an inspection and was very thorough explaining the materials and all the steps. He was able to give me a quote the same day. They were the first company so I decided to get two more estimates which were in the same ball park, but ultimately I decided to go with Journey Builders because of the professionalism. The entire process was super smooth and efficient. Highly recommend them to anybody looking to get any type of work done in their home or business!

These other 5 star reviewers must have been lucky. In our case, we got a quote for 20k to do the roof and 8k to add insulation 1369 square feet. They ripped out the roof and since it was rainy they had to put a tarp on it. After a few days the manager came in and did the inspection and ripped out the tarp three days before it was going to rain according to weather reports and told us it was going to cost another 20k for a total of 48k to do the roof. We either had to go with them or try to find another contractor before it rains on our roofless and tarpless house, we didn't even try to find another contractor in fear of getting charged the original 20k just for the roof demo. I'm starting to wonder if this is standard practice to give someone a quote and then double the quote for the roof after demolition is done. One of the people working on the roof fell through the roof/ceiling and damaged an area about 4x4 foot (i'm glad he was ok), sure they patched it and it's completely different color from the rest of the ceiling but they didn't test if we were exposed to asbestos because of it. The house was built in 1955. We were at a loss and didn't know how to protect ourselves from the situation, we were not ready to spend 48k on the roof at all and would never have had them start if it was going to cost that much. I don't know if you can contact on here but feel free if you want more details.

We bought a house that we knew needed some work. It ended up being a much bigger project than we expected but the team at Journey was incredible! They explained everything to us at every step of the way, even showing pictures and video of the roof in places we couldn't see. They were so thorough and professional. They were also so responsive! Yero was our project manager and he was AMAZING! We have other home projects in mind and I'm so glad we found a company we trust.

Beware of this company. I called for an estimate about a roof underlayment replacement. The salesmen comes to your house and tries to be friends with you and only very briefly talks about the roofing material. They offered to replace my underlayment for ~30k when that job shouldn't be more than ~15k. After I told him the price was too high he went on his phone saying he was going to try and get me a deal by asking his supervisor for permission. He then lowered the quote to ~23k, which they claimed was possible because they had a trash dump they already booked and it would save me money. From personal experience renting a trash dump doesn't cost ~7k. At this point I started asking him questions about itemized costs and he couldn't answer those. When I told them they were on the higher end of the bids that I've gotten the salesman face kinda dropped and left after I told him I was not going to sign anything on the spot. It's very disturbing to see price gouging like this happening so I decided to post my experience in hopes to save others the hassle. Also if the salesman is reading this you have no shame, very cringe of you to use your child to guilt trip people into signing with you. If I could give this company a zero star I would.

DON'T USE! Very shady and scammy saleman, tried to charge me $20k for my roof deck when everyone else was proposing $5-7k.

Tried to do some bs ""if you don't confirm now it will be $5k more and will have to be in May""

What scum of the earth.

Literally the worst company. They ran over and damaged my turf, left tire marks all over my driveway and then refused to resolve the issue which forced me to have to file a claim with my insurance. Every piece of material they showed us at contract signing was ""bait and switched"" on us and WE had to tell them about it. Tried to install a cheap underlayment, sold us on a shingle type and color and then ""oh these aren't title 24 compliant so we have to use these"" with no discussion until they were dropped off and again I noticed the switch. Tried to install an off brand drip edge which we had to have again corrected. Installed the wrong drip edge which had to be torn off and replaced. Sent out a ""QC"" inspector who turned out to the the managers assistant with NO KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE to help assist us. Had to deal with MULTIPLE people to get to someone who could assist us. Had to fight for items to be done that were stated in the contract like my flashing. I wasn't planning on writing a review because we were given a small discount on price and worked with a nice representative to ""bring things to a ""resolution, but now it's the first sign of wind in my area and my ROOF IS LITERALLY BLOWING OFF! Mind you this is less than 1 month since install.

Shady business practices. Gave us a super high quote and bought it down to a high quote if we signed on right away. We were able to talk them down to the average in our area but looking back on it, I regret doing that and should've just went with a less shady establishment. It was a high pressure sales tactic meant to take advantage of people. I got the average price in the area but if they are the first roofers you called, you'd think you were getting a great price cause they took 5k off if you started right away! Their initial quote was around 8k more than the average and the project manager kept lying to use saying that it was the average in the area when it was not. Thankfully, we had another quote to compare with but if Journey Roofers was the first place we went to, we would've been screwed.

Told us that they did not subcontract but it was obvious they subcontracted. Often times, everyone on the job site did not speak English. They did not keep the area clean after working as there were a bunch of nails everywhere around the house. This was especially problematic with tarping nails as they have a sheath that makes them very easy to land on the ground with the sharp side up.

Told us to essentially lie on our contract. Normally, there's a cooling off period for contract work (safe period to cancel) but we were pressured into waiving the cooling-off period and they told us to put down a reason that was not the reality. I held strong and put the actual reason but looking back on it, I should have seen it as a glowing red flag and not gone with them.

The project manager was slow to get an answer from and it was obvious he didn't care about the project after the sale. They kept trying to upsell rather than answering questions about how come there is a loose tile on my roof. He kept sending bills and forms to the wrong email even after we've correct him 3 or so times about sending to the correct email.

This is a company with shady business practices and will charge you exorbitant amounts if you aren't careful. I would not recommend this company to anyone I know. And if you have multiple quotes, I suggest not going with this company.

SHADY COMPANY, DO NOT HIRE!

Their associate Nate came over and wasted my time with a bunch of sleezy sales talk, which is a red flag to begin with, just to fix a leak in the roof. After coming to an agreement on price he insisted I sign a waiver to allow them to fix any issue without arbitration. I was fine with that but when I asked for a specific time period, making sure it wasn't 6 months or something he told me it was fine. After signing he left. I get a knock on the door after 6pm and it was the same guy telling me they're denying the work. They didn't give a reason but told me how ""transparent"" they were. Obvious BS of course. I called their corporate office to get clarification and Tony said ""we're being very honest and transparent"" while doing neither.

Beware, these guys are hiding something and it's never good.

This company was fantastic. This year California had storms of rainy days back to back for a week. We encountered a leak in my daughters room. That same day I called Journey Builders because they had 5 stars. They had a representative named Nova come out that same day to take a look at my roof. Nova explained everything to us in detailed and was very nice. That next day they had a crew to come out to repair my roof. Which made my mind at peace because California was expecting another storm of rainy days that same week. The crew that repaired my roof came early that morning and repaired my roof that same day, the job was completed. I am very satisfied with this company on customer service. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Needed a quote for my parents' roof repair. They got a quote from another vendor before I had a chance to get others. I let Journey Builders know this. Shared the quote and job with Argo by phone. Argo was awesome enough to take the time to educate me a bit about roofing and what materials are best moving forward with the vendor my parents chose. I really appreciated the time as I do not know much about roofing. He was not pushy about coming out to provide a quote or make me feel like parents were making a mistake. If you're looking for a roofing company that responds quickly and is clear, honest and not aggressive about securing your job, check them out.
