We would give negative stars if it were possible! As we are in the middle of figuring out the scam that was pulled on us by an employee, there are many issues that are completely unacceptable . The biggest is how we originally agreed on our backyard remodel for $40k, things have happened in their company and they are saying the cost is now $80k. When one of the finance people were looking over our backyard he told the other gentleman with him that our backyard shouldn't have cost $40k... we are still waiting on our backyard to be finished (started in August it is now the end of Feb) and they are trying to get $80k to finish it. They are fraudulent and are not honoring their contracts.

We requested estimates for painting the exterior of our house online. Joey Builders called us and we even received a mailer on our door, so we figured give them a chance. After talking to 4 separate people (one to schedule appointment, one to confirm, one to reschedule because they couldn't make the first appointment, one to call and let us know the project manager was on his way the day of appointment). The project manager finally showed up. Didn't impress us. He asked us how much we paid for our house which I thought was inappropriate. He didn't write anything down. The quote was just an unprofessional email from a random gmail account with a large number that we laughed at. $30,000 more than other quotes we received. THIRTY THOUSAND. Maybe they just throw a ridiculous number out and hope it sticks. They probably need to cover the overhead of all these people they have to schedule, confirm, reschedule appointments. Not a company we want to work with. Felt like a waste of our time.

This company was terrible. Basically promise eork done in 7 days. It took 3 months. Worker brought his family to work site, then ask senior citizen at the home to borrow money. Worker showed up about 3 in the afternoon.. then sometimes left at 6..other times would not leave until midnight or later. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS

Joey Builders were contacted for a consultation to fix the fence around my grandma's property. My grandmother and her neighbor are splitting the cost. Joey Builders came to her house and instead of going to the backyard to see the fence, they insisted on coming into the house...where they did not for THREE HOURS. They continued to stay even after they were told that my grandma and her neighbor wanted to get a second opinion because they were quoted $8000 for a 64 ft fence. They continued to try to wear my grandma and her neighbor down. My grandma was refusing to sign the contract they kept insisting on and they were not taking no for an answer. After they finally left, my grandma locked the door. She considered calling security during these three hours. DO NOT HIRE JOEY BUILDERS.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I highly recommend NOT using them. They for one extremely over charge and make it seem ok when you first start until you relegalize the quality of work. There are so many issues to list but I will list the main concern. First they had non contracted random ""craigslist"" workers in my house. They didn't pay their employees and they were coming to my door asking for money. There was no consistent work schedule hey would show up at 8 P.M. at night. They let me dog out which she ran 2 miles away from home. They left our gate open to the pool knowing we have a special needs child and safety is huge. We had cameras on our house and found out they found mold in the walls and decided to cover it up and not even tell us! We had them redo it 3 times!!!! They put a illegal p trap in both our bathrooms that we had o ask multiple times to be replaces properly. There were broken tiles put in our shower remodel. They left our house a complete disaster and had a cleaner only clean certain areas of the house. The ""workers"" broke our shower door and I had to go about getting a new one. One of the workers even brought a young child with him who kept touching wet paint on all the walls, and throwing my sons toys on the roof of our house. Do NOT hire this company if you want professional workers and quality work. Also they missed our deadline to be complete by 6 weeks!

I think they are going out of business. Main phone # goes to dial tone. This has happened occasionally before (I know another poster has mentioned the same thing), but now it's every time. Their Better Business Bureau rating has been pulled due to ""numerous complaints,"" which is unsurprising, given my experience. I had a bunch of stuff, expensive equipment, that they just left here. They finally hauled it off today, after literally two months of requests, after I filed a BBB complaint, and a CSLB complaint. I discontinued the work with them because what they were doing needed to be redone properly and they were trying to get nearly all of the money from the bid in advance. Then I would have had no leverage getting them to fix stuff like what you see below. This outfit is a mess.

I hired Joey Builders, thinking they would help my --recently passed -- (United States Vietnam veteran ) father, whose house I was entrusted to care for. I hired them because they seemed honest (Salesperson/ Project Manager Oliver Dair) and would help us, but they did and are the opposite. Presently, I am seeking legal recourse as they were fraudulent with my contract. My amended contract states explicitly that Redwood was to be used, but they substituted an inferior product (Cedar), thinking I would not discover their fraud. They insisted it was redwood and said my fence did not need to be sealed. More than once, I asked them.
If the material that was used was redwood wood, they said yes. What is more disturbing is that Joey Builder's manager, Bau, screamed at me when I confronted and spoke with him on the phone. He then said he would stain the wood ""red"" as if that would absolve him from the fraud and help the issue. He said hard cedar was just as good as redwood, which is invalid. I told Bau that it was still not good as it would not make the wood redwood; it just stained the wood red. Asinine and fraudulent thinking! This will be a lengthy legal process, and stay tuned as I seek legal recourse to remedy their blatant fraud. BEWARE!
