Can you judge a mechanic by the way he keeps his shop? You betcha! I've always trusted this line of thinking. When I saw a Jimmy Shrull Roofing truck on the highway, it caught my eye. Very clean, very tidy, with great graphics and an American flag. I knew this was my guy.

I still did my do diligence and got several quotes. I wasn't looking to go with the low bid, but Jimmy Shrull was the lowest.

The job was done a day ahead of schedule. Zero problems. I am very pleased with the new roof. After my experience with Jimmy Shrull; I'm not sure why anyone would use another company.

Hi All,
In October we had two leaks in our roof. One of the leaks was dripping right on to the 1st floor of our sitting room. I called at least 7 different roofers in the surrounding area. I only received 3 return calls and only two of those came out to give us an estimate. One of those roofers was Jimmy Shrull. Jimmy sent out one of his roofers and within a week called us back with an estimate for the repairs. I told Jimmy I was expecting lots of out of town guests for Thanksgiving dinner and was worried the work would not be done in time for Thanksgiving. Jimmy explained to us he was really backed up and he had a long waiting list. Well Jimmy came through! Not only did his workers come the day before Thanksgiving but Jimmy showed up in person too! We had a blessed Thanksgiving dinner.
We highly recommend Jimmy and his workers. He is a man of his word!

I'd give them two sets of 5 stars if I could. First of all, Jimmy (and wife Debbie) really care. He could have told me that my roof needed a lot of work, I would not have known better, but he was very honest. He took pictures and quickly fixed the problems, and gave me tips on what to look out for going forward. He also educated me on what options I could consider in the future, but there was no pressure at all. Knowledgeable, honest and very kind - I know now who I can go to and not be afraid of being conned--Jimmy Shrull Roofing. His business card says ""a family tradition for 4 generations"". Their tradition certainly includes sincerely and honestly helping people and doing it with care!

UPDATE: I found out exactly WHY they were so backed up. Jimmy had DOUBLE KNEE REPLACEMENT surgery! As a small business owner, if they'd just told me that at the time, I'd have completely understood why he was unable to get things done in a timely manner, and why they were so backed up. Life happens...

Jimmy came out personally, and he and I had a nice conversation about what needed to be done, what the issues were, and what the plan to resolve it was. He is clearly involved in his business to a large degree and absolutely went the extra mile to make sure I was going to be happy with the service, and get my problem taken care of as soon as possible.

With this past winter rains I could hear pitter-patter coming from my chimney and it wasn't Santa or his reindeer. With a two story stucco framed chimney, my being pass my prime, and daughters against my going up on a ladder, I was forced to call in the pros, Based on a neighbor provided name and a check of Yelp reviews, I gave Jimmy Shrull a call. This was early January. Must say Jimmy was prompt in showing up, hence a bump up in stars. He sent his worker up on my roof with an iPad to take some pictures of my chimney. Based on those pictures he concluded that I needed a chimney saddle. In the meantime he had his worker attach sheeting to my chimney to block further rain. I also mentioned to Jimmy that my daughter was in need of having her rain gutters and some rake shingles replaced. Jimmy said he would be out the following week to check on those needs. In the days that followed, the rains came and so did my chimney leak. Obvious that the sheeting wasn't doing its job so I crawled up in my attic, saw where the rain was coming in, and place a bucket below to catch the drops. I mounted a camera close by to monitor the bucket so I would know when it needed to be emptied. Jimmy never did show up to check on daughter's needs so I sent him an email saying that my leak was under control and my daughter could probably wait as I'm sure there were people in need with more pressing problems. Fast forward to July when I gave Jimmy another call. He was very apologetic about not showing up back in January and said he would be out the following day. When he did show up one of the first things that came up in our conversation was the need for a chimney saddle for my chimney. I told him that I felt that it was an overkill, whereupon he became rather testy, pointing out that he was the roofing contractor with the experience, not I. He's right, I'm not a roofing contractor and because I'm not a roofing contractor who knows or thinks he knows everything, I actually went looking for the leak. Having found the leak I know what he was suggesting was completely unwarranted. I told him I would go about fixing the leak myself. Moving forward he did take a look at daughter's gutters and shingles and said he would send me an estimate in the coming week. After he left I went about fixing my leak and in the process was able to identify why and where it was leaking. Took a picture and emailed it to Jimmy with hopes that he might learn something. As of this date I have not heard from Jimmy. Maybe I put a dent in his ego. If one's too busy or if one doesn't want the job, I get that, but common courtesy should dictate a call. I might have let this whole issue slide had Jimmy not come across as being arrogant. A word to the wise, if the work to be done is not obvious, consider a second opinion; else you might be paying for more work than what is needed.

After having a very bad experience with another roofing company in regard to simply obtaining a proposal, along came Jimmy Shrull Roofing, If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would.

Unlike the first ""roofer"" who came out and then gave me a very generic ridiculously high bid with absolutely no breakdown between the two roof issues I had, I contacted Jimmy Shrull Roofing and the owner (Jimmy) himself came out. He actually got on the roof. I kinda thought that's what roofers should do anyway, but apparently the first company didn't think it was necessary.

Anyway, among the other things that I knew needed attention, he found a pretty good sized hole in my roof and took a photo. He offered, and of course I accepted, to come back and tarp that area before the rains came in FOR FREE regardless of whether I hired him for my roofing needs. Who does that anymore???

I received the estimate the following morning. Unlike the first one I received, this estimate broke down the two jobs, and the total price was far less than what was quoted to me by the first company. And, much to my surprise, they're going to ""throw in"" painting the replacement siding for the chimney for FREE once installed, as long as I have the paint. I do have the paint. I am beyond shocked.

As promised, Jimmy's crew came out and secured the hole in my roof in preparation of the rain. Several days later, the roofing repairs were done. He kept me apprised throughout the entire process.

Jimmy and his crew are, hands down, the most professional people I have ever worked with. If you need any kind of roofing work done, you would be remiss if you do not contact them.

This wonderful company is Jimmy Shrull Roofing (CSLB # 759458). I am so incredibly impressed with the entire process -- start to finish.

Wow I was getting really frustrated leaving messages for roofers after the storms. Jimmy Shrull gave me a call apologizing for the delay because he was out of town. He offered to come over in 2 days. Whew, what a relief. In the meantime my actual roofer O'Neal Roofing finally called but said they are really booked up, they have to look up my previous repair warranty & will call me back. I left Jimmy a message telling him I was going to wait to hear from them. He called me back again apologizing for his delay, & offering to do anything he could to help me. He told me how important customer service was to him. I'm sure he has plenty of work right now, but really went above & beyond. If my roofer flakes, I will definitely call Jimmy.

Jimmy came out to look at a leak on my roof and was able to get his team over to repair it in a quick manner. He sent me photos of the issue on our roof so I could show my husband who was at work and and his quote was very reasonable! I highly recommend giving him a call for your roofing needs!
