We hired Jeff Smith to remove and replace the trim and siding from the front of our house. We stupidly gave him up-front money for materials - BIG MISTAKE! Don't ever do that!! Well they can legally ask for no more than 10% of the total estimate.
From October 15th, when he started through November 29th when we fired him he only came to our house a few times and only spent about five hours actually working on the house. Lots of texts about when he was going to come by and work with them being mostly no shows followed by texts of excuses. When he finally did put three boards on the house he botched them so badly that we need to have them removed. He also used up and threw away or took home about 20 8' boards for those three 4 foot boards that ended up on the wall. The pictures show the number of nails attached to each of the three boards he installed and the cracked board in lower left hand section of the picture. Very, very poor work.
Be cautious of hiring.

Do not use this person or his construction ""company"". The job took 3 times as long as he said it would and he doesn't have an actual crew. Some days no one would show up or when they did they were here only 2 or 3 hours. Mr. Smith himself has never been by to see the completed job, pick up his tools, or to haul off the garbage that has been left in my backyard. The best is the temporary corkboard hanging where a door and window used to be. I guess the remodel doesn't come with stucco for the outside. He is totally shady and untrustworthy. We did come up on a nice tile saw though.
