My insurance company couldn't give me specific referrals when I called to tell them I had a leak, they said to get it patched asap and gave me a couple names of companies their other customers had used. I called Ja-Mar because I recognized the name. Chris Mobley is one of the friendliest, down to earth guy I've ever met. His communication skills were superb, always kept me in the loop. I highly recommend Ja-Mar and especially Chris! As for the patch, he did an excellent job, quick, no fuss, no mess involved and he guaranteed me it will not leak.

I live in a really old house in Central Austin. The roof needed some major help (fascia, shake removal, decking, etc) before the shingles could be replaced. I contacted two other companies I found here on yelp with very good reviews to do the work, but communication was shoddy and in the end neither was able to complete the work. Drew from Ja-Mar showed up and was able to delivery a very competitive bid within a day and began the work within a few days. There was never an issue with communication as responses were prompt and Drew always kept me in the loop on where we were in the process. Their carpenter Amalio's work was top notch and the rest of the team was efficient and left absolutely zero mess. I highly recommend these guys and will be calling Drew the next time I need any work done.

The job was to have concrete poured (more added to existing patio) and an aluminum patio cover over all that. I had asked for no ceiling fan and lights to be installed. The patio cover is made by a company in Florida, semi custom design and shipped to companies like Ja-Mar.

I did a 3 payment option, 1st up front, 2nd after concrete, and 3rd on completion.

Blair Howell was the salesman for me. He had told me it would take about 3 weeks from start to end for the whole thing to get done. The concrete would have rebar in it, the contractor also said they don't use bags but mixing trucks to get the right kind of mix. About 3 days to cure. During that time, the order for patio cover would take about 2 weeks. Sadly, it took a month and half.

Two of my biggest issues is lack of communication and lying by Blair Howell. Blair had said rebar in concrete, none of that was ever in. I have video evidence of that. Second, they did use bags. Now while a patio doesn't have much load and doesn't really require rebar. Don't tell me one thing and do something else. Same goes for the bags instead of a mixer truck. Don't lie, just tell the truth.

About two weeks after the concrete was completed, no patio cover was put up. While they didn't initially give me a time frame, it had been two weeks; which ended about on a Friday. So a few more days go by into the next week, nothing. I hear nothing. So I call them up on Thursday. Blair said he couldn't hear me and would call me back shortly in a hour. Time goes by plus some and nothing. I call him again, no answer.

I call the office and talk to a secretary or front office person? He tells me Blair is there and ask if I can hold, few minutes later, Blair gets on and tells me that the stuff should be in next week and installed a couple days after.

Time goes by and yup, nothing. I call and this time he explains that the salesman, for the Florida company that deals with sales in the region had quit and the order never went through. It would be another two weeks.

So, um why didn't Blair call me up when he found out this information? Why does the customer have to call all the time to find out if they're being scammed off or not?

So, time goes by and finally gets installed. The installer had called me up, asking me about the location of the electrical to come out of the patio. Center (left to right) and center front to back was my choice. I also found out that they don't install lights and just run the electrical. (Sigh) Really? Can't Blair just be honest with me? What a big fat lair Blair Howell is.

So, I buy my light and install it myself.

Forgot to add, really, all they had to do was call me, keep me update, don't lie and the rating would be 5-stars. The cover is nice, no complaints, no issues with concrete either. Just communicate, people are understanding when things are beyond one's control.

These guys did a fantastic job. Jake came out and looked at what problems we were having, took some pics, and we had a bid within the week. These guys fixed what others couldn't. They had to fabricate a portion of the roof and locate panels to replace a couple of our 30 year old panels that were in need of replacement. Very professional and stuck to the schedule. Another great achievement is that they didn't disrupt our business at all. Great team at Ja-Mar.

Drew is the best. We love our repairs! He dealt with the insurance people all the way through the process, did the legwork to get more funding for unique circumstances like our steep driveway (increased labor) and kept us up to date on the status of adjustment requests for our unusually varied claim (it was not just the roof). Drew was never out of touch, and he came repeatedly to oversee contractors for various steps (roof, gutters, exterior paint, interior paint-high high ceilings). With additional damage discovered, and so many stages, and surprises, our project took a while to complete but we are happy with everything. The roof was fast, and done well, and so were the gutters. The paint, especially the interior, took longer to get right, but Drew made sure we were happy with the final results, even sending the painters to touch up places that were spotted in different lighting after it was dry. I'm so glad we worked with Drew, this guy has integrity and he never made excuses or dodged our calls when we had questions or concerns. Our house and our claim had a lot of obstacles and hiccups...and we were worried at times, but JaMar and Drew really pulled through and stuck with it. We would use them again!
