Recommended Customer Reviews
This company came into Bradenton from Orlando knocking on doors and promising to get us a new roof after Hurricane Milton. They negotiate directly with the insurance company (they use an assigned contract) and the check for the work goes directly to them, just not how I wanted to do business. I found their salesperson a bit pushy. I have no comment on the quality of their work as I did not hire them. We are using a local company.
Farrah W.They keep customers tied up thinking they are going to assist them, only to leave them hanging because the storm damage wasn't expensive enough for them. Taking advantage of older folks and those who don't know any better. Does not treat employees or clients with respect. Don't trust this company!
Had a great experience with JA Edwards of America! Did my roof on time and did everything first class! I would 100% use them again. Christian my PM was so helpful and easy to deal with!
L J.Customer service and non solicitation
Cold knocking on door is not acceptable iNo solicitation in neighborhood no calls made to this bushiness
I would like to retract my previous one star review and replace with a four star review. We had the roof inspected and there were multiple defects. When we contacted the company and requested repairs they responded quickly and thoroughly. The re-inspection reported that they had gone above and beyond expectations.
Never sign a contract with this company! They are crooks and liars! They use deceptive and unfair sales practices!
Hurricane Ian hit our house in Cape Coral on September 23, 2022. Besides other significant damages, it destroyed our roof. We chose JA Edwards of America, Inc. because they promised the shortest repair time - 2 months. We were afraid of additional damage that rain could cause. We asked them for an estimate, but they refused to give one. Instead, they wanted to look at our insurance company's estimate and immediately asked for the indicated in it amount. We were very stressed by the damage caused by the hurricane and afraid of additional damage, which frequent rains would cause if we didn't repair our roof quickly. They manipulated us into signing the initial contract for 110781 USD by promising they would accomplish all work within two months. Later our general contractor told us that the price they asked for was double compared to the competition using the same material. Additionally, they would use much cheaper material than the one we had previously and on which the insurance estimate was based. We had a right to cancel this contract within three days. It was our plan, but before we did that, our general contractor spoke to them, and they sent us an amended contract for a decreased amount - 64 220 USD. We signed the second contract. Due to specific professional terminology, we didn't understand that we agreed to ""assign all of the benefits from our insurance company""; it was never explained. So, we were shocked when they asked for 110 781 USD instead of 64220 USD. Additionally, they never repaired our roof within two months. It took them nearly six months, and we got additional damage to our ceilings and mold due to rain. We were misguided and deceived by this company's unfair sales practices. We have recently filed complaints to several organizations dealing with consumer protection and asked them to investigate their activities.
I Just had a roof replaced by JA Edwards (JAE) on 8/15/22. Installation noise aside, it was a fabulous experience. A great deal of homes in my neighborhood were replaced by JAE (recent hail and wind damage). And, every neighbor with which I spoke had very positive things to say about the company, quality of work, and it's local sales representative, Nicholas Singleton. Nick was absolutely fantastic. He inspected my roof and located hail and wind damage. After filing an online claim and my insurance company's adjuster visited and provided an estimate, JAE was somehow able to sneak on a sizable roof in the middle of August in FLORIDA!!! The crew completed a 5600 square foot room in 2 days!!! I wanted to use some special new vents and Nick was able to locate them without issue. I had such a positive experience that I recommended JAE to my parent's in DeBary and my next door neighbor--both of which decided to go with JAE for their roof replacements. If you need a roof, reach out to Nick at 407.765.0162.
Robin J T.They did a great job reroofing our house. Timely & dependable w/good price & did a great job. Also replaced our skylights.
Digital B.I reserve the right to change this review if JA Edwards of America gets there butts in gear in fixes the roof.
I'm writing this for my neighbor, an elderly lady who has been waiting for a year to get her roof finished. Normally my experience has been that an average sized roof takes a maximum of a week to finish (with complications), however this HAS BEEN A YEAR!
They have done nothing right and caused her headache after headache. broken promises after promises. A year! Facepalm! A !@#$% year to do a roof????? There is no excuse to do this to an elderly woman. This is complete crap.
Hurricane season is coming and this roof needs to be fixed. It is sitting there with the rolled roofing and the shingles still wrapped up. It has been like this since they had to rip off the roof a second time because they failed inspection.
For months, she keeps getting the run around ""oh, we are waiting on this or that"" and ""we are coming out soon and will finish it""
JA Edwards of America = total bs Don't use them EVER!
BTW - Do not ever let the roofer deal with the insurance company for you! You should do it yourself and have the insurance company send you the check directly, then you hold the check until the roofer is finishes and passes the inspection!
1 - get THREE written estimates
2 - contact your insurance company and give them the estimates.
3 - the insurance company will rate the roof and ask for any changes to the estimates, then you can relay them to the bidders. They will tell you how much money they will give you for the roof and tell you what MUST be changed on the roof (like skylights!)
4 - Don't always go with the cheapest or the most expensive. Your insurance company should give you their opinion on the bids.
Our new roof looks fantastic - replacement took about 1 1/2 to 2 days, and everything was handled very professionally and efficiently. It's not great that we had damage to our roof which caused the need for a new one, but I'm glad that we went with JA Edwards to get it fixed/replaced!
