J Taylor Roofing is truly a local company that serves its community with professional standards. We call the company due to a leaking roof, and they performed a great job .... Leaks stopped as well as they inspected our roof for other signs of trouble. They are professional in getting the work done, they even came back and rechecked the roof for any other leaks from the past rainfall. I would highly recommend J. Taylor Roofing for all roofing needs.

The storm that brought huge rains to Southern California really challenged my roof. I woke up to a small leak the fortunately only made the floor slippery. Knowing that a leak left untreated can lead to long term damage, I looked for a roofing company to see if they can come out. Remember that this was days of rain we were having. Rod, the owner, came out and gave me an estimate without trying to sell me anything I didn't need. The work was done well and I didn't see another leak when the rest of the rain came in. I would highly recommend.

This is the worst roofing company I have ever dealt with. The owner does not even care about customer service. They never fix it right the first time and complete lack of response. Worst service and bad quaility. I have no idea what these other reviewers are coming from. Must be family and friends because this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. These have to be fake reviews.

Now the owner below is making some comments that are completely lies tyring to say that he has never worked on this building. We have multiple invoices of work performed. He talks about free consultation? We never asked for anything to be preformed free??? Nor has there been any communication of what the issues were. Rod/Taylor, you are a liar and just making up things. Just management your business. My tenants said that you didn't do anything and made no effort in addressing the roofing issues. Previous owner had also mentioned that they have had similar problems with you in the past.

My tenant complained that you didn't do anything to resolve the problem. You say you were coming out to look at building and we don't hear from you. The leaks that you supposedly fixed last year are still here. No professionalism.

Please Taylor, stop lieing. You are a liar. Previous owner of building mentioned the same thing. Stop getting your friends, workers and family to write all these 5 star reviews. Nonsense!!

Customer service from a roofing company? Yup - that's what you get with J Taylor. While most 5-star reviews are about all the sparkling things that went right with a roofing job, we had one area with mis-matched paint that we weren't happy about - and Rod immediately addressed it with his team and it was corrected. The following year, we had heavy rains - and OUR ROOF WAS LEAKING. They came out, and determined that it was most likely our fireplace and not the roof. Instead of just leaving us hanging during the storm - they covered the entire chimney with plastic to keep us dry, and returned after the rain to troubleshoot. It was indeed the chimney, so they took photos to help us address it with a fireplace repair team - but they recovered the chimney with plastic for us to protect us from any further leaks until the repairs on the fireplace were complete. Rod and his team were professional and polite - and deserve the 5 stars. Go with J Taylor, and you'll be happy not only with the customer service - but with your new roof!

Our roof was too old for Tesla Solar, and so I reached out to Rod and about five other companies. He was out and worked on it so fast that we were done before some other companies could even respond. Pricing was as fair as can be and I would have stuck with him even if priced higher for a few reasons. Firstly, he beat out everyone by getting to my location of North Torrance, so if you're in the nearby area.... he's local. Secondly, he was responsive, so if service and peace of mind is important to you, it was provided in spades.

I didnt need the entire roof done, and I wasnt being oversold (unlike other companies tried to do).... fantastic. FWIW tesla was super picky with the permit, and you can get a copy online https://www.torranceca.gov/services/community-development/properties-permits-and-records-search

being a non practicing licensed contractor, I was impressed by the no nonsense approach.

We had a full roof replacement done by J Taylor Roofing in Nov 2021, this was an excellent experience, they are very professional and their pricing is fair. I got 5 bids and theirs was very competitive, the key to making a decision is Rod Taylor, he has a very reassuring manner and knows what he is talking about. He brought over samples of roofing materials and colors for us to evaluate and provided addresses of jobs with those colors, which we were able to see in person. His crews showed up on time, protected the property and got the job done quickly. The City of Torrance has a long backlog, so the inspector showing up was the only delay, which was not a big deal. The job was done right, including replacement of wood (at the price per foot listed in his proposal as an extra). I'm very satisfied with the results. Lastly, Rod didn't collect payment until completion of the job, I was satisfied and final signature by the inspector.

I would 100% recommend J Taylor Roofing. This is easily a 5-star contractor.

I have a small rental house that was badly in need of a new roof. I obtained estimates from three local roofing companies who were highly recommended by neighbors on the NextDoor app. All three bids were very close--within just a few hundred dollars of each other, so price was not a deciding factor in my selection. After meeting Rod Taylor at the property and discussing the job at hand, I decided to go with J. Taylor Roofing as I felt this company was very competent and would do a professional job.

The installation went smooth and quick. It took one day to strip off all layers of roofing and replace the fascia and a few rotted boards. The only delay was waiting for the city inspector to come out and approve it. Once approved, it took just one more day to install the new asphalt shingles and the roof was done.

There is one thing I want everyone to know concerning the honesty of this company. After all the old roof layers were stripped off, Rod Taylor called me and said he had good news. He said the sheathing was still in good condition and did not need to be replaced, so that would save me about $2,000. Now any roofing company could have easily snuck that past me and I would have never known, but J. Taylor took the high road. For that, I was GREATLY appreciative of it.

By the way, they did not ask for a single penny from me until the job was 100% complete. And yes, the final invoice was over $2,000 less than the original estimate.

I had a very good overall experience with this roofing company and I highly recommend them.

J. Taylor Roofing is the Greatest! We needed a new roof and contacted several roofing companies. J. Taylor's quote was thousands less than the others. What is really great about J. Taylor Roofing is that they are ""Old School."" They've been in business for 50 years and you know the mortgage has been paid off! What's more, they're not taking 40% down and then go to another job. They take NOTHING down until the job is finished to your satisfaction. Rod Taylor, the owner, says it builds TRUST. That's true. I had great peace of mind knowing that they would stand behind their workmanship and products without taking a penny. They worked on our roof from start to finish. No gaps in service. J. Taylor Roofing is a family-owned business. ""Mom"" Taylor answers the phone. Her son, Rod, runs the company ""hands on."" They don't send a salesman out to sell you a new roof with all the bells and whistles, they send out the Owner, Rod Taylor. The team was very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Very polite, too. Rod Taylor has a lot of integrity. Everything he said he would do he performed on. I'd give them 10 Stars if only I could!

J Taylor Roofing Inc. just finished replacing our Spanish Tile roof for our 2,590 sq ft house with two very steep angle roof levels making the job more difficult. We are very pleased with the finished roof. Rod Taylor, the owner, came out to give us an estimate. He walked the roof and took pictures of problem areas that were visible. Other roofers refused to go on the roof and identify known problems. We selected J. Taylor in early January, but could not schedule the job until mid February. To prevent further interior leak damage from rainy weather, they did temporary fixes to the leak areas at no charge. All other roofers stated there would be an additional charge. The crew always came around 7:30am and cleaned up when they were finished for the day. The crew and Rod were always available to answer questions as the job was progressing. We are very pleased with J Taylor Roofing Inc. and highly recommend this company.
