This review is not based on their work. I recently called a ton of companies to do some work on my house. Last week this company made an appointment for Monday at 11AM to come by and give me a quote. They NO SHOWED and didn't even bother to call. So I called several hours later and they asked to book for Wednesday same time. NO SHOWED AGAIN. Wow so I guess business is good but says a lot about their reliability. And they obviously don't care about wasting other people's time. Not one other company pulled this. Pretty rare actually as all the others even call on the way or let me know if running late. Thanks for tying me at home when I've got a ton of things to do.

I can't say enough good things about J & S Roofing. Serafin Sr. & Jr. are so wonderful, professional and their prices are fair, not outrageous like with some roofers. I had another roofer come about 6 months ago and overhaul my roof. They also did something to my old skylight. After the 1st rain, my skylight leaked and they did a horrible job rehabbing my roof, especially around the vents/fireplaces - they actually made it worse. Fast forward to J & S - they fixed all of the issues. They put a new lovely skylight in to replace the leaky one which had been ruined. They professional corrected all of the mistakes the other roofer did. I got a fair price for my upcoming complete roof job which will be needed in the next year or so, and the price was very fair. Serafin is friendly, a good communicator, knows his stuff, is fair with his pricing compared to most, cleans-up, knows codes, and is overall very professional. I will use him for my complete roof job. I'm happy I found a good & reliable roofer - finally! I live in Long Beach.

The job took 3 days (just as contracted) and each day the workers left our place neat a pin. The crew was cheerful and wiling to address every request we gave them. Serafin and his crew re-roofed our house with such professionalism and concern for detail that we could not be more satisfied. We are especially satisfied because J & S' bid was very competitive!

We are very happy with the work done by J & S Roofing, in replacing our entire roof. They were always on time, professional, and careful in their daily cleanup of the area. No pesky nails to embed themselves in a car tire! Serafin jr., and Luis suggested we replace our aging solar tube with a new version, which came with an LED light pack. First of all, what a difference the new dome made! And the light pack gives off a soft glow at night. I'm so glad I agreed. J & S came with a recommendation from a close friend, and now I will be passing on that recommendation to others.

We had J & S Roofing replace our entire roof some years ago, and we couldn't be happier with their work. We just reached out to them this past week to schedule an estimate for a count of how many electrical attic fans we'd need to install them. It went so well, that they came back the next day to install them, and they were done! They also did us a huge favor by informing us that there are areas in/on the roof that weren't completed when we had electrical work done last month, and they took picture for us to show the electrical company that did the work. Thank God for pointing out those areas in the attic that the electricians failed to finish and left us open for a possible leaky roof!

Replacing the roof on your house is probably one of the most, if not the most, expensive home repair you'll ever do. My old roof leaked almost right after it was installed 23 years ago. Not only was it poorly installed, but back then it wasn't against code for a lazy roofer to install a new roof OVER an existing older one to save cost. Also, my home is old (built in 1957) and still had the original gravel roof beneath the next two installed above it. So that made three, count 'em THREE roofs I needed to have removed before I installed a new one. Over the last 23 years I was constantly plagued by leaks (one that even poured water into my living room during a particularly bad storm) and the subsequent repairs to dry wall and mold abatement that followed. I was anxious every time it rained because I never knew when or where I would have my next major leak.

I decided to bite the bullet this year I engaged J&S Roofing for the job. They didn't have a lot Yelp or Google reviews but the ones they had were positive and I decided to hire them based on a recommendation from a handyman I completely trust. Best decision I ever made.

To begin with the owner, Serafin is certified by the City of Los Angeles so is qualified as a roof inspector himself -- and they are family-owned which I always prefer. I've found that family-owned businesses take a lot more pride in their work and reputation. Unlike some big company with multiple crews, Serafin was there for the entire job working with his brother and two sons alongside their crew making sure the job was done right. And what a major job it turned out to be. (Removing the two previous composite shingle roofs and then scraping off the original gravel roof beneath those two came to a combined weight of fourteen tons) Because my house is old, I also had a technically difficult roof with a lot of dips, hills and valleys along with multiple skylights that needed a lot of extra attention to make them leak proof. The composite shingle roof they installed was a high quality 'cool roof' designed to reflect heat and keep the house cooler in the summer. Serafin, his family and crew were professional, friendly and extremely helpful during the whole process so I always felt I was in good hands.

The proof of that came right away. The day after they finished, we were hit with the biggest rainstorm of the year - the kind of deluge that always made anxious and tense because a leak somewhere was always in the cards. This time, inside my house was bone dry. It was a wonderful feeling to finally relax and enjoy the sound of the rain for the first in many years. I can't recommend these guys highly enough.
