In May of this year (2023), I contacted Jeff Ratch about a re roof of our existing wood shingle roof. He is a very experienced roofer. I was very impressed by several points that set him apart from the rest of the roofers that I had contacted for an estimate:

Communication between us was always prompt and professional.
Jeff actually went up on the roof to inspect it.
He noticed our skylights were not in great shape and that we might want to consider replacement, (we decided the replacement was a good idea).

Lastly, he was very detailed about giving us info and options about the roofing project and did a fantastic job on our reroof. Very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JRatch Contruction.

Jeff is a highly professional person. I am thoroughly happy with the results of my roof. He let me know what was taking place through out the entire process. His workers were excellent, nice, and helpful. They clean up perfectly during each phase. He even helped me with an extra task not related to the roof. After the final inspection, he gave me the signed permit for my records. He follows all county specifications and doesn't take short cuts. This is the company to use for your roofing needs.

I also had new gutters put in. They look beautiful and since it rained today, I got to see them work.

Jeff and biz were recommended by a client to install new fascia, gutters and downspouts. His crew completed the entire job ahead of schedule. His pricing was extremely competitive. Another contractor I was going to use who was a lot more expensive proved to be unreliable. I'm glad I waited a bit, did more research and hired this company. I will call this company again when I need to replace my roof.

We discovered a water leak at the front left roof to wall section of our home. Water was leaking into our garage as well and so began the search for a roofing company. After completing a number of visits and estimates we decided to hire J Ratch Construction. What is mostly appreciated about J Ratch Construction is their 5 year warranty against leaks!
Jeff was very friendly and professional while taking great mindful care with our requests and concerns.

Jeff and 2 of his men arrived at about 8am mid January and in just about 5 hours were all completed with the following....
*Inspected for any dry rot damage.
*Installed ice and water shield, grip edge metal, battens and lead flashing.
*Installed roof tiles.
*Sealed and/or replaced any broken tiles in areas that were needed.
*Side panel were all rotted and breaking apart so had to replace.

We now have much appreciated peace of mind during the raining season knowing that we have proper placement of roof repairs by Jeff and his team!

Very prompt and professional. Came to the house prepared to get on the roof and give an estimate. Responded to emails and phone calls in reasonable time. Many contractors drop the ball very often but this was not the case. Hired J Ratch Construction for a roof repair and it was done in less than day. When the rest of the roof needs to be replaced I will definitely be calling this business back.

I had J Ratch Construction re-roof my entire home in January. They did an excellent job and completed the roof on a timely basis. The owner, Jeff, is very easy to deal with and keeps you informed of the entire process. The came out the first day and demo the old roof. The second day they fixed all the dry rot and sub structure. An inspection followed the next day by the County of Placer. The following two days the shingles were installed. Then, the next day the leaf guard gutters were installed. Jeff kept me informed of exactly what would happen along the way. We signed up in early December and we were 7th in his queue. He does seem to carry a backlog as he does a very good job. I would highly recommend. His price was very reasonable compared to other quotes that I received.

Jeff returned my call and emails promptly (why is that so rare?). He was the only one to actually go on the roof before providing a quote. Thank goodness he did because he found a minor issue and he fixed right then. Throughout the entire project Jeff and his workers cleaned up at the end of the day (that is rare also). We recently had moved into our home and based on recent home inspection reports we certainly did not expect any leaks. When the rains started this year, we had a couple of leaks that I wasn't sure could be quickly sourced. Jeff correctly diagnosed the problem as well as pointing out another trouble spot I hadn't noticed. The work his team did to correct these problems were done efficiently with a great looking result. Have had several rain storms since the repairs and no leak issues. It was also nice that his team cleaned up very well after the job was completed. The price for the repair effort was very fair.
