I knew I needed a repair of the Spanish tile section of my roof after an inspection by my roofer of 30 years. Unfortunately, he had to retire due to medical issues and couldn't do the repair. A neighbor suggested J&J Roofing due to excellent work by them on his tile roof. They diagnosed the problem (exactly as my previous roofer had explained it) and just completed the repair. We'll see if the repair solves the problem when the next rain comes, but it looks good. I've had excellent service from Justin in scheduling, who was helpful in explaining the how the company handles repairs including follow up. They were very responsive from the first call to the questions I had after the job was done.

My roommates and I have had multiple issues with this roofing company. They came to fix a leak a few weeks ago and were late. Then they disappeared and never told us whether the leak was fixed. We tried to contact them multiples times over a few days and they didn't respond. Then finally my roommate got ahold of them and they reluctantly gave us the information that they fixed it. Now, three weeks later, it rained again and the leak is back. We set up an appointment, which my roommate rearranged her schedule in order to be here for, and they never showed up, or answered the phone after multiple calls. They already delayed fixing the leak the first time, and now it'll be delayed again, and we are really concerned about the possibility of mold. We are really disappointed with the service, or rather lack thereof.

Updating this review because in addition to everything that happened then, the leak reappeared 3 weeks after they fixed it, alongside new leaks.
They scheduled to come and fix it today and my roommate rearranged her schedule to receive them and they never showed up and never picked up the phone even though she called them 10+ times.

This is an update to Ariel M's review from 3 weeks ago. I live in the same home. The roof started leaking again 3 weeks after it was supposedly repaired. Leaking from the same spot, as well as another spot that was supposedly repaired last year, as well as another new spot. We had an appt scheduled for 2:30 today. It's 3:45 now and nobody ever showed up. I've been calling and leaving messages for the past 45 minutes and nobody is picking up the phone at their office either.

Updating in response to Mike- we know you do not come out per our request and we know you did not install this roof. We were not aware that the repair 3 weeks ago may or may not have been successful, nobody informed us of that. But aside from the leak, you guys should be taking some responsibility for the missed appointment and no communication. We know we can not request you to come work so we contacted our management company about the reappearing leak, they contacted you to come out again, and YOU guys called US to schedule an appointment for yesterday. We spoke on the phone and set an appointment. And then next thing nobody showed up and nobody called and nobody answered the phone per an appointment set by you, so clearly you had the approval for it by the management company. If for some reason this approval was withdrawn by either party, it should have been communicated to us since the last thing we heard was you telling us what time you would be here yesterday.

Highly recommend! After a home inspection report two years ago showed that the roof had one year left, I thought I was past due for a new roof. Jush came out for an estimate, and rather than selling me a roof I don't need, he took a look and said there is easily 3-5 years left and right now replacement would only be needed for cosmetic reasons. He recommended annual inspections. Thank you for your honesty. I will be calling them back next year.

These are just a few of the words I use to describe J&J Roofing and my experience working with them. After interviewing 12 roofing contractors, contacting references and looking at past work, I evaluated them along with the assistance of an architect and general construction contractor. We agreed J&J Roofing was the most qualified, had the most detail in their proposal and was the most responsive to additional questions.

I live in a 1930s Spanish revival home and wanted a new roof that reflected the original architecture and historical significance of our home as well as resolving the old-roof-problems. J&J understood my goals for the new roof and provided solutions that surpassed my expectations. They removed all of the current tiles, cleaned and preserved the ones that were still usable, and reset them interspersed with new tile so that the new roof still has old world charm. This was exactly the look I wanted. And best of all, when it rained recently, the roof performed perfectly. No more leaks!

I made one change during the project and they seamlessly incorporated the change into the project without missing a beat. The crew showed up on time every day, answered questions and did a marvelous job of cleaning the job site such that I felt entirely confident letting the kids and dogs go into the yard without risk of injury.

With many of my neighbors working from home these days, there were a lot of eyes on the project. Daily, neighbors would come by to comment on the steady progress of the project, how impressed they were with the job the crew was doing, the attention to detail and how much they appreciated the clean up afterwards. They told me one horror story after another of horrible experiences with other contractors and just how impressed they were with J&J.

I had access to and the attention of the whole J&J team including the company president, project manager, on-site supervisor, account manager, and quality control supervisor. Each of them contributed to making it feel like I was the most important customer they had. They went above and beyond anticipating and resolving issues and took the initiative to get it all done on time and on budget. They truly represented the best of customer service and professionalism.

I've never written an online review and I only rarely offer a recommendation unless I've thoroughly vetted that person or company. I can highly recommend J&J and have given their business card to neighbors, real estate agents, architects and general contractors. I would endorse J&J Roofing to anyone considering a roofing project.

J&J Roofing is a great company to work with. They've been doing this work for decades, so they've seen every kind of roofing issue. They really care about getting the job done right. I like working with people that love what they do, and J&J Roofing falls squarely in that category. My house is in Hancock Park, and built in 1920, and the roof is... interestingly shaped. So, it's not  particularly easy to repair. Yet J&J did a great job. Smart, articulate, hard working, nice people. Five stars.
