Alice H.FANTABULOUS! My 1924 Spanish bungalow had a leak in the roof when I bought it in 1975. Over the next 30 years or so I had three new roofs and umpteen roof repairs, and still it leaked! After every ""guarantee"" that it was fixed I would re-paint and re-plaster inside, and then it would get ruined. Somehow I found J & J Roofing. They took their time trying to diagnose the problem and then made their recommendation. And presto - NO LEAK! I have had them come out a few more times for minor repairs on my roof, and the roof of my little garage apartment. Everyone at J & J Roofing has been professional, friendly, prompt and HONEST. If I could give them SIX stars, I would!
Hallil T.I cannot rate this guys highly enough. The were great to deal with on the phone, arrived on time and provided a written estimate, supported by photo evidence and 2 options for the repair. I procrastinated a little, until I heard of a rain storm. Even though they were busy, J & J found a way to fit me onto their schedule and did the repair before the storm. These guys are really great and I highly recommend them to anyone out there needing a good, honest and reliable roofer!
I called this company and they couldn't come out and do an estimate of my house roof damage for over 2 weeks. I promptly said that was ridiculous, They were inundated with too much work. Gee, you would think they had some type of back up to help in a busy time with the recent wind storm. When someone's home is damaged it doesn't help to get a simple estimate for 2 weeks. There could be a severe rain storm and tarp may not stay on the roof well.
I called several other roofers and they came within 1 to 2 days. Thus the rating, ""I've experienced better"".
I solicited three roofing bids and J&J's was the least expensive. They scheduled the work rather quickly. The estimator talked at length with me about the problem and the repairman showed me detailed pictures of the area(s) on the roof that were causing leaks. It has been several weeks since the work was done, lots of rain; no leaks.
Spending money on roof repairs is not my idea of fun, but I must say I enoyed the transaction with J&J Roofing.
Herb, the man who came to give an estimate on roof repairs, said, ""We can get it done in one day,"" and quoted $550. I accepted. When the crew showed up they completed the work in 1 hour, and left. I called and said that $550 seemed high for an hour's work and I felt a bit misled. Herb replied (this is an exact quote): ""Well, I feel fine about it.""
My advice: run the other way!
This job was done by J and J about 8 years ago. All the more reason to read my review.
I did a total re-roof on my own home. It is a 1921 Mediterranean with a mostly flat roof with ceramic tiles around the perimeter. I thought everything was fine until a couple of years ago when I had another roofer roof a small roof over my bedroom. He made some comments about the prior flat job, but I ignored them because I know how that goes.
I've had a leak in my skylight for some years now, since re-roofing, and just haven't confronted dealing with it....with J & J or anyone else. I asked a couple of licensed roofers to take a look at the detail around the skylight, and to price out a maintenance estimate for my roof. I was surprised that both companies pointed out serious issues in the workmanship, and choices of J & J roofing, who did the original work. One thing in particular; was that they spent time taking all the roofs off and didn't bother to open the scuppers on the inside to match the outlet, so there are smaller holes on the interior of the roof than the exterior. For anyone with a flat roof knows...you need the hole to be big enough so that it is less likely to clog. There were also decorative roof tiles that were just laying there unattached waiting to fall...plus some other items.
I decided to give J & J roofing a call, since they appeared to be a ""reputable"" company, to explain the situation, and to hear their side. I was shocked at the utter unprofessionalism I ran into. I called their office, and told the person who answered what I was calling about. Immediately, Mike got on the phone with an attitude....not a helpful attitude....an ATTITUDE. At the end of our conversation, he told me he would have Matt call me back and take a look at my problem. Instead, Matt called me back with an even bigger ATTITUDE.
I owned a general contracting business with my ex-husband for years, so I know what it is like to get a call from a client with a problem...or a perceived problem. This guy was defensive from minute one, and couldn't stop telling me what I was saying. He told me that I had roofers come up to ""inspect"" his work. This couldn't be further from the truth, as this was all communicated over the phone. I told him I called to let him know what was going on, and that I was going to end the conversation now and handle it myself, since I could see that he wasn't even listening. He hung up on me.
Professionalism is EVERYTHING!
Kathleen W.Our new 3-car garage roof is beautiful.
Customer-service, as well as the quality of their work and materials, is extremely important to the folks at J & J Roofing, and it shows.
We have recommended them to our neighbors and will continue to use them ourselves.
Chantal D.I just had my roof totally replaced by J and J Roofing. They were the least expensive out of 4 bid, worked with my schedule and had it done in 3 days! The whole roof. They also hooked me up with an excellent solar company to remove the solar system and replace it once the roof was complete. The crew that came out were respectful of my kids and I being in the house and cleaned up after every day. I wouldn't have even known they were there if I hadn't seen them.
Over all I was VERY happy and will recommend them.
Thanks guys!
Michael D.I just had my roof redone by J & J and it was a brilliant job. Yes, I had to wait a while, but since the rains aren't very big in the late spring/summer, I figured I could wait. And since they'd come so highly recommended I thought it'd be worth it. I can see why they're so busy.
I've dealt with a lot of contractors in my 16 years owning this house and these have been the only guys who came when they were supposed to, finished when they were supposed to, and the job was done well, professionally and there was no mess afterward.
I even thought they'd covered a working vent (I was taking photos from my neighbor's garage of the process) and one of their guys came back out and climbed into my attic (on a 100 degree day) getting ready to fix it but found that what was covered wasn't a working vent at all, it was a hole made by a previous contractor that did nothing. And then he told me that the vent I was concerned about went out the side of my house under the roof - and then showed it working when I put the bathroom fan on.
Awesome service. Awesome job. Hopefully I won't need this again for a long time, but when I do I'm calling them.
Jason S.Mike at J&J roofing did great job on our patio roof. There was a small issue with the gutter system shortly after. He came back free of charge & took care of everything for us within 48hrs. Very fair & will use them for future projects.
