We hired this company due to flooding caused by a burst water pipe during the ice storm to hit Houston during February 15 - 19, 2021. Water remediation had already occurred at the home, and there was extensive damage to the lower portion of the home. Flooring, walls, in kitchen, living room, office/den, and hallway, plus cabinetry, a fireplace, and wet bar had to be replaced. The company was hired on 03/01/2021. From the beginning, work progressed VERY sporadically in fits and spurts. I finally had to fire the company on 06/14/2021 due to the stoppage of work. Nobody had been to the home since May 20, 2021. While work was being done, I would have to contact the owner to see if the workers were going to show up on a particular day. MANY times the owner would reply yes, and the workers would not show up, which is not only bad for my scheduling, but also bad for home security, as I would have to leave a key for the workers to be able to get into the house, and they would never show up. In addition, the owner would make commitments to have work done by such and such a date, and it would not be done. He did this on SEVERAL occasions.

I understand that Texas was overwhelmed by the winter storm. Owner has now completed my kitchen. I have gotten several compliments and it does look nice.

Anyone needing repairs from the storm, be prepared to wait months. I believe this is true with most contractors.

Punch list to go, but my kitchen is now functioning and looks nice!

They are great at ""grabbing your business"", promising prompt service, with qualified crews and all sorts of wonderful expectations. However my experience with this company was a nightmare. I never received a timeline of the work to be done, could not get answers from a licensed plumber, & most of the time I never knew if they were going to show up or not. Not once, did a supervisor or the owner, Richard Rucker show up to my home to evaluate the job. Nor would he return any of my calls or texts, except with a auto reply of ""Call you later"". The original crew sent out to start my pipe repairs, caused by the snow storm, had no clue what they needed to do, nor did they speak English. Thankfully I ended up having to hire a new contractor, at the recommendation of my insurance company. It was then that I learned that the plumbing work done by Innovative Storm Solutions was way out of code! They left holes unrepaired behind my walls, and upon inspection by a licensed plumber, they used gas line piping where water lines were to go, and to this day, 3 months later, their trash bags are still sitting in my ditch. They damaged several of my personal belongings, including sawing my steel hammock stand to use as a pipe lever tool ! I also walked in on a crew drinking beer on the job, I was shocked, & requested they leave. I would not recommend them to ever repair anything inside a home. Even the mitigation they did had to be redone. Save yourself the headache, it was the worst experience I ever had with a contractor.
