I hired Jose (owner of Ideal Roofing Company, based in Santa Clara) to re-roof my old house; the current roofing shingles had been installed well over 25 years ago and were in dire need of replacement. Jose and his team of four guys are the BEST!!! Hard, conscientious workers who clearly take pride in the quality of their work. Really nice people, too. I could sense right away that Jose might be a good pick, since, as soon as he came over to give me an estimate, he pulled out his ladder, took time to inspect my roof and its shingles, and took measurements. His estimate was very reasonable (even lower than I had anticipated) and listed in great detail all the items to be done. (Lots of times, I've gotten estimates that only said ""replace roof"" and gave the price estimate.)

Jose and his team worked for four days. Usually it was just Jose and one or two of his workers, except for the first day, which was dedicated to removing all the old roofing materials (three layers of shingles, the first being the original cedar shakes); on that demolition day, it was Jose and all four of his workers.

Each day, they came early (7-9 a.m.) and left late (usually around 6 p.m.), and meticulously cleaned up everything after the day's work was done.

I cannot recommend Jose and his team enough!!! Quality work and quality people.

Ideal Roofing recently fixed a leak on my tile roof. Jose is a great roofer. He waterproofed/sealed all 3 chimney, Cleaned valleys, replaced 10 to 12 tiles. His price was very reasonable. Jose is a great guy to work with. I will be calling him when I have roof problem. Thanks Jose.

I inherited a home and it was in desperate need of a new roof! After interviewing over half a dozen, I decided to go with Jose. (Some companies didn't even pull out the ladder to determine the extent of work that needed to be done/quoted).

He arrived on time and did thorough inspection of the 2 story home. I appreciate that he offered some suggestion on how to make repairs and improve the ""look"" with a few adjustments. I relied on his professional judgement, not just want I wanted based on my limited knowledge.

He did not try to upsell me on the product, but offered options.

Jose had a full scope of work to do to replace the fifty year old roof. He provided a bid very quickly and I am happy to say that he made the bid correctly! No surprises or additional fees or costs were needed after the project was completed.

I highly recommend Jose for his professionalism and pride in his work. He is a thoughtful person and I was able to communicate with him throughout the week long project.

If you need a new roof... do yourself a favor and hire Jose. I'm glad I did.

We've had a great experience working with Jose on replacing the roof of our 2400 sq ft home. He got us an estimate within about 24 hours, unlike the 1-week turnaround of other companies we'd contacted. He's been easy to work with--totally reliable, early on the job and last to leave, cleaning up with a blower at the end of every day. He's been great at communicating with us regularly about the progress of the job, checking in with us at the end of each day. Super nice person as well. I can't recommend him highly enough.

We had bad results from many roofers for our Los Altos Hills home until I called roofing supply companies and asked who was the best roofer in our 100 mile area. I was told Ideal Roofing Co. owned by Jose Guillermo Zaldivar and they were right! Not only is our roof perfect now, but many other problems have been also perfectly solved: an outside screened room where hill water had leaked in, a leaking pool, a cracked deck, flooring, a fountain, a wet wall, ceiling cracks, constructing a huge Peace Gate, repairing a damaged wall to mention a few! Mr. Zaldivar, despite being very busy, comes out even on weekends to repair and solve problems.He also draws the plans, gets the permits and builds additions. His work is top quality! In fact, he is the finest workman whoever did any work on our home. He cares about perfection, his prices are very fair and he can do almost any type of repair or construction. He is not connected with any other roofing company with the same name in other areas. You are extremely fortunate if he works for you.
