Avoid hiring this company, the estimates that they give are not realistic, they low balled their estimates and then proceed to add change orders on to work that they fully were aware of and acknowledged. They are not timely the workers disrespect your property, they do not clean up and left garbage on the job site.

I had my roof done by HRC in OCT 2017. Following the initial install Cris Hernandez (the owner) came back due to a mistake in the air duct leading to our interior furnace. He worked with me to schedule his guys coinciding with the HEATING AC crew that was replacing my furnace around the same time. Working together they resolved that issue by replacing the air duct and exterior vent with the one specifically designed for our type of home.

During the winter of 2018 there were leaks (not from the roof itself but on the side between the house and attached carport). These leaks were running down the side of the house, which also lead to earlier issues (prior to the new roof) within the walls of our home. I was hoping to resolve this with the new roof, because of previous water damage and mold prevention. We scheduled another appointment and Cris came out with his guys and placed a flashing that COMPLETELY RESOLVED our issues.

I'm pleased to say that HRC Roofing and Solar are #1 in my book for insuring that the job gets done right. Through these recent storms in 2019 our roof has kept us dry and safe. I recommend HRC to anyone replacing their roof on a residential unit.

Finally and honest roofer. My mother has a flat topped tar and gravel roof in the Berkeley Hills. A neighbor above the house recently told her the roof had several standing puddles which looked concerning. I selected quite a few highly rated roofers specializing in flat roofs off of Yelp and asked them if they could figure out what was causing the problem and fix it. I told them there was no leaking in the house. Multiple roofers come out and they all said the roof was old and the entire roof needed to replaced. One roofer just surveyed the roof by drone (really?). All I received were quotes for replacing the entire roof. No one could tell me exactly what was causing the puddling.
Cris from HRC Roofing came to survey our roof. I was expecting to receive another quote for a full roof replacement. I was elated when he called to tell what he had found; our drainpipes were badly clogged with leaves and one had lost its cover. He told me he had cleared the leaves from two drainpipes and replaced the cover and our puddling problem should be gone. I could not have been happier and more appreciative for his work and honesty.

I used HRC in 2013 to replace my composition shingle roof and gutters. After researching other companies, their estimate appeared reasonable and was significantly lower than some of the others. I was satisfied with the outcome. The roof and gutters held up fine until two weeks ago when a neighbor's tree damaged both. It's not easy getting work done this time of year, but HRC responded promptly to my call. They completed the repair work as soon as feasible during a break in weather at a price that was acceptable to the insurance adjuster.

I called for an estimate. There was this guy who i could hardly hear answered and asked me what type of roof i have in a very unfriendly tone. But when i told him that i don't know, he immediately asked me to have my husband to call him. what a SEXIST! He then just kept asking me what type of roof i have and what material i want to install. i told him i don't know, and he answered he couldn't help me then. I'm glad i hung up the phone and take my business elsewhere.

My take is if you are a woman, or you don't know what type of roof you want, don't call this roofing company. If you do, prepare to take the insult and frustration, and make sure you have plenty of patient and tolerance to deal with later.

My family recently got our home re-roofed by HRC Roofing and I must say that I am satisfied with the roof and the new sunlight they installed, HOWEVER the process and service was VERY disagreeable and stressful.

First of all we received a quote for a price, and then once they had already removed our roof - THEN we were notified that ""oh there will be extra charges because you had two layers of roof"" As customers we felt very bullied into paying this extra fee since we were already roofless! Not just a little bit roofless, completely. And we felt that we could have been notified of the extra charges before our ENTIRE roof was removed and we no longer had any choice in continuing with the project AND the extra charges.

In addition when discussing this matter the project manager used a very loud and rude tone which does not help with anything in a discussion. I get it you have extra charges because of the extra layer, I get it, you have to pay your workers. However the way in which you went about the project felt very shady to me. My family was very stressed during this time and even though our roof is now complete and the sunlight is very nice - I would not wish to go through this process ever again.

TL;DR - end result was great. process was very uncomfortable.

The owner of the roofing company under estimated the job by $5000.00 which is very unbelievable. You need to make sure you will not be overwhelmed by extra few thousands dollars after you sign the contract. Also, make sure you will have the copy of the contract right after you sign it.

Worked with Cris to replace an old roof. He came out, gave the estimate and explained the work that needs to be done. In reviewing multiple bids for the work, I chose Cris because of past experiences with his team, quality of work, and the fact that his team didn't need constant supervision like other contractors.

Everything was very smooth. Project was on schedule, frequent communications, and received pictures of the job. He also supported the permit and inspection process.

Here is a recommendation for HRC Roofing and Solar. I met the owner, Cris Hernandez a few months ago when he came by to give me a quote. I was going to put on Solar panels and that took a few months to sort out the details but my roof is done and the solar should be completed next week. Chris and his company did a fabulous job. He was a breeze to deal with - friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He quote was detailed and accurate. He was timely, his crew cleaned up each day and he made sure I understood the warranties for the gutters and shingles. He was also was extremely helpful in making sure that the solar panel brackets were installed in a way that would prevent leaks. I could not have asked for a better contractor. He only takes on a couple jobs a week so he can manage them successfully.
