When we needed to replace our flat roof last month, our trusted contractor recommended Hoyt after seeing their work on another house he worked on. The process from sales to completion was relatively quick and painless. Chuck, who walked us through the estimate, was very knowledgeable and responsive. The crew led by Juan was professional and courteous. I'm typing this in the midst of a rare LA heavy downpour. So far so good!

It's been just over a week since Hoyt finished our roof. We could not be more happy with the end result. Since the beginning, with speaking with Chuck about the estimate - which was given, in great detail, on the spot - I knew that this was the company to do our roof job. Chuck was very knowledgeable about our old roof construction and about current materials and code requirements. Once we signed our contract, we were on the schedule within a month, and wow, the job was fast. We have a small house, but yes, from tear-down to finished roof took two days. On the third day someone came bright and early to clear out the remaining debris... which reminds me, the clean-up was outstanding! After the tear-down on the first day, let's just say they left the area cleaner than they found it. We honestly went from the eyesore on the street (last shake roof house in the neighborhood) to ""wow!"" I definitely recommend Hoyt Roofs for any roofing job.

First.. I read through the reviews; both the negative and positive reviews and I can say that 90% of the negative reviews have little to no merit and are simple issues that could have been remedied with common sense on behalf of the customer.

Brian, Chuck, and the various foreman that were on my project were nothing but professional and hard working. I was the project manager of a large condominium HOA re-roof and these guys are NO JOKE and Big TIME OPERATORS!

The HOA initially utilized HOYT for simple roof repairs, which we were extremely pleased with. The workers showed up on-time, with the right equipment, and were able to fix the water intrusion on the first visit. We never had to call them back to fix the issues after they were fixed once and for all.

The HOA voted to move forward with substantial re-roof of the entire complex. We received multiple bids from large roofing contractors in the LA Basin including Hoyt Roofs. Not only was Hoyt Roofing priced extremely competitively they were professional, honest, and transparent when it came to signing the contracts for such a large project.

The re-roof project took a few months to complete; it was ONTIME and Below budget.. ( Literally finished the night before the first large El Nino storm hit) Anytime you venture into the realm of a construction project.. LARGE or SMALL, there are going to variables that you didn't foresee. HOYT roofing was great at informing the board about what to expect and then communicating with me during some of the anomalies that were discovered during the re-roof process. They were quick to help remedy the issues and come to a viable solution for our project. Their employees and carpenters were of the highest caliber and did things that were pretty impressive. I can think of at least 5 carpenters that they employ that know how to work a skill saw like its a part of their anatomy.


We are very happy that we went with HOYT roofs for multiple reasons. I would encourage anyone looking at either a simple repair or a full re-roof to consider HOYT roofs! There are a lot of fly by night roofing contractors out there who will gladly scam you out of your money. These guys will take care of you long after they have taken your money for a new roof. Give them a call, in my experience you wont be disappointed.

Re-roof job in Coto de Caza went unbelievably well. Best sales service from Mark Reed throughout entire job. Roofing crew were fantastic, friendly and did a great job from tear off to clean up. Thanks Hoyt!!

I just got a roof estimate from hoyt roofing. I was not too impressed with their salesmen technique. The guy I met with had a rude attitude and he very pushy about signing a contract on the spot. So I've decided I will be calling other roof companies with better customer service and a better personality of not feeling pressured. I will keep you guys posted.

We've had Hoyt Roofs install new roofs on our former home and the home we're living in now. Both roofs are both beautiful and never had quality or installation issues. On our former split level house, the rain gutter installers walked on and cracked some of the spanish tile and Hoyt came and fixed it. On our current house, years ago we had Hoyt replace our roof. When we built a room addition 3 years ago, we insisted that Hoyt do the roofing even though the contractor had a ""Brother who does roofs cheap"". NOBODY touches our roofs, but Hoyt. Chuck is and has always been our contact, he knows his stuff and we trust him implicitly.

Having done my due diligence on roofers, I choose Hoyt because of Chuck's knowledge, persistence and straight-from-the-hip way of selling his company's services.

They had a better quote for lightweight S-Tile (Boral) than most other competitors composite shingles!!! And when the layers came off and the feared re-sheeting was revealed, they didn't gouge me on the half-inch plywood add-on. Very fair price and VERY GOOD WORKMANSHIP!! My application had some very weird quirky issues, and they were able to make things work and the Merlot mixed color tile makes my house look like a million bucks!

Very happy with this roofer and would recommend Chuck (sales), Kevin (Project Manager) and the Hoyt squad to anyone!!

A+ satisfaction on 7/1/2016. After watching Hoyt re-roof my neighbor's home, I was very impressed with the professional roofing service approach Hoyt Roofs, Inc. used in completing that roofing job. Having received 7 bids from other roofers in June, I met and received a quote from Chuck. Totally knowledgeable in roofing, he explained Hoyt's complete approach to roofing. Everything and every crew member is Hoyt's in-house people and equipment. Special note is that DAILY they clean up everything. The tear down began with Santos with his crew using only Hoyt trucks and employees; then Andrus and his crew replaced and repaired wood rot, termite damage, and plywood that was delivered and stacked neatly in my driveway; then Andrus and Cesar started and completed the re-roofing of our house explaining each step in their process; then Kevin reviewed their work and ordered skylight replacements; and then the clean up crew came in for final remove and clean up leaving my driveway, patios, and lawn at our house basically spotless. The re-roofing started on Monday and was completed on Friday. I spoke to the owner Brian Hoyt and expressed my thoughts on how organized and well run his teams of employees worked. Brian added that these employees have been with him for over 15 years. I would recommend Hoyt Roofs, Inc. in a heart beat. As for the 7 other companies, I found most subbed out their teardown and clean up and three bids added plywood as extra. I felt one company's bid ($8k more) was based on my zip code and house location . As for Hoyt's pricing, they were fair and honest, up front on everything, and I had an advantage of watching their re-roofing team approach and their process on my neighbor's home. They told me what they'd do and they completed everything that they said. No surprises on repairs since I knew by my own inspections that I need a lot of repair work (house built in 1970 and block from beach). Fair, honest, and completely professional. I've already recommend them to friends and would suggest contacting them for a fair and honest bid. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
PS, as a former inspector with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, I learned to do my research prior to signing any of the 'bid' contracts. I recommend researching your project thoroughly too. It makes life easier for you and your wallet.

The roofing job was good but then they replaced my skylight which was in working condition and did not need to be replaced according to my handyman and then came over and threatened me that I had to pay them $800 for the skylight or they would rip it out and I paid it because he was kind of road rage scarey

Great job! After reviewing three bids we went with Hoyt after receiving a prior customers recommendation (a close friend of ours). Our roof was over 30 years old and a fire hazard. Hoyt's people started quickly and finished the entire new roof on a 2900 sq ft house in one week (6 to 7 days total). They were fast and great. The clean up after themselves daily and the final was immaculate and the roof looks perfect. Reasonable prices.

Only reason for the 4 stars rather than 5. Finalization, we were told that spare roof tiles would be provided, still waiting for them after 17 days. Recommendation make sure everything is complete before writing the final check.
