I had thought Jayson and the Houston Heights Roofer team had done a good job when they spent all day putting a roof on my mom's small townhouse. They seemed to be professional and thorough and completed the job quickly. One year later we put the townhouse on the market to sell, and we were told last week by the inspector that there was a roof leak. Another roofing company independently verified the leak. We called Houston Heights Roofers to honor the warranty and repair the leak. Jayson rudely responded to our real estate agent and said there is no warranty and that he didn't do the work that caused the leak because ""he was told to do a minimal roofing job""?? That statement in quotes is absolutely not true. If he did a minimal job, that is the way he conducts his business ... and we didn't know it until now. Now we are stuck with the prospect of giving up almost $7,000 to repair a roof that Houston Heights Roofers installed just over 1 year ago. I do not recommend this roofing company.

Genuinely appalled by the blatant disrespect and unprofessionalism the business owner, Jayson Hatfield, exhibited today at a property I'm purchasing. I do not know if this is how he treats all of his clients, but this experience alone is enough to make me never want to work with him again regardless of whether the roof is still ""under warranty"" with his company.

After having a general inspection report done on the home my partner and I are purchasing, there were several roofing and insultation-related repairs I needed to get quotes for. I called Jayson/Houston Heights Roofers knowing that they are a local company.

Jayson was extremely short and unresponsive as I was trying to schedule a time for him to come out and provide a quote for the repairs. I had to call him and send him four messages just to get him to confirm that he would be there. I sent him the inspection report via email, which he never bothered to look at, and he told me only after arriving at the property that day that he ""doesn't do"" insultation. Something he could and should have told me the first time I called him saying I needed a quote for roofing AND insulation.

On the day of the inspection, Jayson showed up late and did nothing but insult me and suggest that the visit was a waste of his time. He was extremely condescening to me and my realtor, mocking me as a first-time home buyer for being ""too thorough."" Not sure when having a strong attention to detail became a bad thing, especially when buying a home, but I digress...

Jayson essentially scoffed at all of the callouts in the inspection report, and refused to provide quotes for the needed repairs. He left the property yelling at my realtor and me, both of us shocked at what we just experienced.

In closing, use another roofing company unless you want to be verbally accosted by the owner.

Jayson came out to assess my leaky roof within 15 minutes of contact with him. He came back with his crew within an hour and fixed everything within a couple hours. Very satisfied with the speedy service and very fair price.

Jayson was a pleasure to work with. He took the time to explain the different types of ventilation and which type was best for our new roof. Had them do both the roof and ventilation. Great price and they finished quickly.

I am very disappointed to see the reviews on Yelp. I had a great experience with Jayson and his company. They were prompt, diligent and assisted me in showing exactly what needed to be repaired. I had multiple companies come to my house and I truly felt they were the most honest. In reading some of these reviews I would say that there are always delays in construction and people should appreciate the honesty in why there are there are delays. Sometimes it is out of the companies control what the manufacturers and suppliers provide and the timing. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone looking for a repair or complete replacement.

After the recent storms we made the decision to replace our roof. We spoke to a few people and ended up going with Jayson with Houston Heights Roofers (locally owned and operated). He was quick to respond, answered all our questions about replacement and warranty. His pricing was competitive as we had others bid the work. He was able to get the work done within a week of doing his estimate (part of that week was 4th of July). They were quick, professional, took progress pictures, kept us updated throughout the day, and left no debris or garbage. We came home to a beautifully done roof. We really enjoyed working with Jayson and highly recommend Houston Heights Roofers

Jayson and his company are lowest of the low. Poor quality attitude as well as roofing ability. Shows up late, blames suppliers, pouts and throws tantrums. The shingles were stolen off the driveway after we told him not to leave them there. Debris left everywhere, rutted the lawn up with their truck and trailer. AVOID!! There are a lot better companies for the same price!!

Clearly the review I'm going to write is a pattern for Jayson and this company. We bought a new home and had Jayson come out to provide an estimate on repairs. My realtor met him there, and though it took some work to get the appointment, that all seemed to go fine. We got an estimate and used that for our closing negotiations. Prior to closing on the house, I had emailed Jayson to ask a specific question regarding a concern our home insurance inspector had about the roof. It took him days to answer, and when he did it was brief and didn't address the question. I emailed back, and radio silence. I chalked this up to being busy and dropped it. After we closed on the house, I called him to schedule the work. Radio silence. I tried a bit later and left a message just indicating that if he doesn't have time, that's fine. Just please let me know so I can get someone else to do the job. He immediately called me back and seemed to want the job. He said he would text me and then get to me in a few days to schedule an evening within this week. Jayson did text me, but then never followed up. I finally responded to his text to ask what happened. His reply was, ""Who is this again?"" Then, he called me and again couldn't remember our job. This was our third conversation about it. I told him I was frustrated and had decided to give the job to another company. He essentially acted like a child and said, ""Fine, I didn't want that job anyway"" and hung up.

I don't know what's going on with this company. Maybe they are overworked. Maybe they aren't organized. Either way, it's bad business. Being rude on top of it all when you are the one who is not being responsive or helpful is more reason to go with another company. Save yourself the time and hassle. Use someone else.
