The quality of his work is average. I had the same issues as the other reviewers with him hounding me for final payment. I paid him within 26 hours of getting his invoice but endured 10 phone calls and as many texts during that time, including a threat of legal action. He didn't clean up his left over waste when he left the project and I was so fed up with his attitude about final payment that I told him not to bother coming back to clean up.

Hot builds did a good job and accommodated what the homeowner wanted for a screened porch. However, when they went to sell their home, they discovered that the roof material for their was not appropriate for the slope of the roof. They trusted the contractor to do it right. The materials were mismatched - they were aware of that, but not aware that they should have roll roofing OR another 6"" drop at end to accommodate shingles. Hot builds did not offer to make it right without an additional cost to the homeowner. They had to hire someone else to ""fix"" the issue for them so that they could sell the home. Beautiful work- not correctly done. I would not recommend unless you don't anticipate seller your home anytime soon.

Hot builds is a hot mess! I hired this guy to tile a shower and bathroom floor. I was to supply all the materials. He complained that the shower floor was not level ( a good tile guy would have skimmed it) consequently the shower does not drain properly and there is a large gap between the floor and wall tile. He told me to return the tile adhesive that I bought and buy premixed adhesive. Come to find out, premixed adhesive is not approved for use in showers. The tile is popping up and it promotes mold growth. He and his helper then proceeded to smear adhesive all over the top of the tile from their boots. Spent days cleaning it up but it is still there. I overheard him talking rudely to his helper one day then later they got in an altercation, his helper asked to use my phone so he could call for a ride. When it came time for payment he was very aggressive for no reason. If this is the type of professionalism you are looking for then by all means call Kenneth Underwood at Hot Builds. I however, will not, and I will never again pay money upfront.

Kenny is a loose cannon. Was obsessed with getting his final pmt. i was 2 hours from the job he said he would be finished at noon. Then called and said 3 then called and said 4. I asked why don't just come first thing in the morning. He said no he had to be paid when its completed. No problem when will it be complete. Now 5. Ok drive 2 hours no where near complete at 5. We advised him we werent paying until the job was done. He then threatened my wife and we actually jad to call the greenville police on this POS.
He had his 11 year old son in the house learning how to lay flooring. Nice touch! He did not finish the job he was paid a fair amount for what he completed and he agreed to the price. He recieved his cash proceeded to call my wife a c¥nt and then instructed his crew to unload all the trash on his trailer in my yard. I have 29 rental properties and deal with contractors every day. Kenny is by far the most unlrofessional one I have ever dealt with. Buyer beware this guy has some serious issues. Out of the blue he sent my wife a text the following day letting her know he was devorcung his wife because she put so much stress on him. This dude is a loser save yourself the trouble and work with a professional who is not teaching his 11 year old how to lay flooring on your dime.

I had a horrific experience with this guy.
Required half of the $ upfront (ugh I know bad idea, but i trusted him)
I hired him to remove a sliding glass door and install a different one. $275.00. Some of the wood and frame was rotten so he added $50 more labor and I supply the wood, frame wood and the caulking which I did. He called me and said the door ""fit so well he didn't have to use the wood I bought & it saved me $"". I was confused on that but delighted to save $. ( my son said he was there less than an hour)When I got home... it was exactly the same rotten wood but a different door. After a call he agreed to come out, 3 weeks chasing him. His wife answered. surprised by his fabricated ""death"" excuse he agreed to come back out. I text several time what new wood he needed and never responded so I guessed. He showed up and caulked the hole and cut a 5"" frame piece to attempt to cover the hole. I was furious! I have given him time to come out and correct a unethical job and he never shows up. I will be seeking a claim on his license and have reported him to license board, BBB and SC Home Builders Assoc and I have just begun. BTW he still kept the extra $ I paid him and I only got excessive excuses of why he didn't do the job I hired him to do. So disappointed. DO NOT USE THIS MAN!

Awsome people. And know their stuff if you want it professionally done call them. Pricing is also fair.
