These guys are beyond incompetent and unprofessional. We did not choose them; they were subcontracted through a company who did our complete roof and solar installation. Not only did they order (and install) the incorrect materials for the ridgeline (which had to be completely torn out and redone), they left gaps in the roofing large enough to put an entire arm through. These huge gaps allowed rats to get into our attic and eventually inside our house. We never had a rodent problem before the new roof was installed, and we had to spend hundreds of dollars on rodent control because of Horizon's terrible job. Their ""fix"" was to come back and shove mesh into the gaps, until we finally hired an inspector who told them how to actually fix the roof to prevent rats, rain, and all of the other things a roof is supposed to prevent from getting into your house. Horizon also subcontracted with gutter installers who had to redo the work after a shoddy first pass. The owners were never onsite supervising the work being done, although one of them had the nerve to blame all of their poor work on the ""poor architectural design of our house."" Avoid this company at all costs. The absolute worst.

Had a great experience with Chris & Eric - many people needed roofs last Fall and Winter in Wimberley, Texas...roofers were backed up. Since we were going to be gone over Christmas, Eric & Chris were able to work us in because most people didn't want their roof replaced during that time. Speedy ordering of supplies - workers kept the yard clean and Chris came to the job site many times - we were very happy with the work and price.

I'm in the process of buying a house. The house needed a new roof and the contractor agreed to install one before the closing. I had heard good things about Eric and Horizon Construction so I asked him to come and provide a bid.

He arrived on time (actually a few minutes early) and got right to work! He inspected the roof and not only gave us a bid, but valuable information on what to put in the contract in case the seller went with a different contractor. Eric is extremely knowledgable and glad to share his knowledge, in his quiet and unassuming manner.

Unfortunately, the seller of the house opted for a contractor he has used in the past. When the roof was on, we had Eric come inspect it and he found some issues with the job done by the other contractor (things like rotten plywood under new shingles, cheap seals that only last 5-8 years in the TX sun, old and frozen vents that weren't removed that will allow rain into the attic, etc). He worked up a full report for us showing the problems and saved us a lot of money in the process.

He's very focused on providing quality work and being fair and reasonable in his pricing. From our interactions, I can tell he loves what he does and has a passion for it - something that makes him great at it! I trust Eric and his company and wouldn't hesitate to send my friends and family to him.

My agent gave me Horizon as a reference to get an estimate on the age of my roof (insurance discounts) but I didn't call them first because they were a long distance from my house and thought if I was going to get this done for a cheap price it be best I start close to my address, wrong. I called the first few roofers closest to my house and got an estimate upwards of $100 or a flat out no to come out and take a look. I called Horizon, he was super nice and said they do it for free! I recommend talking to these guys first for any of your roofing needs.
