We had Mikey come out to remodel two bathrooms, add a home office, add some storage under our stairs, and a few other small jobs. They did a fabulous job on all our projects. All his workers were courteous and respectful every time they came over. I trusted them enough to go out of town for part of the time they were at our house.

I can't say enough about his whole team from his electricians, project manager, mason, tilers, painters and everyone else. They are experts at their jobs and would be glad to have them do more work in the future. Hey, they put up with me and all my design decisions and were very patient throughout the whole process. Even the cost was a fair price.

They stole my brick. They could have placed it somewhere to the side. Now im wondering if they intended to steal my leftover tile as well, I had to call in order for them to bring it back

We contracted with Mikey to remodel our master
bathroom along with various other smaller repairs. We could not be happier with the result and working with Mikey was great! After talking over what we wanted done, we received a bid quickly. Mikey came over and answered all our questions. He communicated with us during the entire project and was easy to reach with any additional questions or concerns. Care was taken to keep the dust at a minimum and protect our wood floors. Everyone who worked on our house was professional and the finished bathroom is exactly what we wanted.
I would not hesitate to use them again for any project and highly recommend Home Remedy!

I found this company while surfing on Google, and while the reviews were old, they were awesome. Well, they get a one star rating from me because when the guy, I think Rick or Bob? finally returned my call later that evening, I was working and couldn't stay on the phone. When I asked him to call me back in 30-min, he said he would be off. So I asked him to call me the next day, and he never did. I called back later that next day to let him know I was still waiting to hear from him, and still no one called me back. No one to date has called to follow up on my initial phone call. I guess this is what you can expect to happen when business is great?

On 9/20/14 I wrote what I thought was a humorous five (5) star review for work done on my house by Home Remedy. For some reason this 5 star review was posted on Yelp as a one (1) star review. It has now been 1 1/2 years and this review still reflects a 1 star rating --- This review is to hopefully reclassify the 9/20/14 review to five (5) stars.

These guys had such a stellar review on Angie's List that it prompted me to contact them for an estimate on a porch remodel. Due to this I was expecting to be impressed by their response time and thoroughness, but this was not the case.

I sent them a note via their online form, and heard nothing. After a couple of days, I contacted the receptionist to make sure they had received my note. She had to dig through her inbox, but she forwarded my information to Mike, who called me late on a Friday afternoon. By the time I was able to call him back, he had checked out for the weekend and didn't answer. In my voicemail I requested photos of past projects and a call-back, but almost a week later I haven't heard anything.

I'm not the type of customer that has time to chase down a contractor for a big job. I want to feel like my business is valued and that the contractor will be reliable when it comes time for the job. Unfortunately I will be searching elsewhere for someone who can give me an estimate.

Sometime in late 2013, I received a phone call from Mike of Home remedy called me - years after their disappointing work on my patio. He offered to do remedial work and was quite apologetic about the result their previous work (refer to below). So I said, sure and he promised to call back and arrange for a schedule to look at it and see what he can do.

I NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN!

He was most likely to be fishing for information,i.e, to learn who gave his company a poor rating. He even made up a story saying that he was thankful for 'my' recommendation or endorsement of previous work - which totally untrue.

So why bother calling me back when the intention is not pure?

Yup, I've read good to great reviews from this contractor which made me decide to hire them for my Patio/cover project. There quotation is reasonable upon initial comparison. There were some instances during our early engagement that I doubted, but I said - it's probably OK and the finish product will be what I always wanted to have. When the planning came, some confusion of drawings occurred - hmm I said to myself, things will pan out - don't you worry . The cement was poured - then I saw some signs of below par quality - several lines made obvious by watermarks and is currently eroding and getting deeper. Then the ceiling panels were installed - connections between panels were immediately obvious (not leveled properly). Then came the major disappointment - measurements. I was asked to specify where I wanted to have the fans and lights placed. I did this immediately but to my surprise, they ignored it (what's the point in asking?) I even got into a heated exchange on why I wanted the fan moved from where they placed it (very near the wall) to a more practical place (center of the space). It was eventually moved- closer to where I wanted it originally but the remedial action caused more issues about the ceiling panel not being leveled - which made a very obvious 'patch work' - doesn't look professional at all. Oh, and the lights were still off and never gotten a proper explanation from why that is. I gave them the chance to fix it but it's beyond small fixes - they need to redo the ceiling and cementing (or put the tiles - which I can't cover with my budget). It's quite unfortunate and whenever I see their work, I cringed ... doesn't look like a $10K project. With this, I couldn't recommend Home Remedy - they might have done a good job elsewhere but Boy, - did they mess up mine. I guess a positive is- I really like their brick column and possibly the roofing work. Perhaps my initial reaction was telling me something. My mind can perhaps change (and so is my review) if they would somehow do remedial work, but the last time I spoke to them, they stand by their work and said that was the norm.

A few months ago, I booked this company to widen a doorway. They were to come at nine AM and never showed up. They were very apologetic about the clerical error and offered a discount for future work if we went with them.

Cue to last week. I decided to give them another chance because their work history and reputation was great. Somebody came over, took a look around and said he'd get back to me. I recieved the quote via email and replied, asking when somebody could remove my oven before we got started on the other $5-6K worth of work on the estimate.

Lo and behold, I never recieved a response.

Don't waste your time on these guys, you'll only get an estimate and never actual work.

ETA: These guys quoted more than double what we paid other people to show up and do the job. The second quote was also high compared to the three other companies who gave us a bid. I guess these people charge a few hundred for just showing up. IF they show up. ( I doubt they would.)

Mike and Home Remedy are great to do business with because they deliver excellent work with no surprises.

They have done work at our house twice, the first time was to add a window in the kitchen, repaint the back of the house and do some major repair to the back fence. The second time was to remove some horrible windows and doors in our pool house and replace them with a 12 foot section of windows with sliding doors.

Both times I was very impressed with their quality and honesty.

I rate them a 5 because if Home Remedy isn't a 5 then no place is. I never have any second thoughts about the work that they have done and I can't think of any other home repair / remodeling company that I can say that about.

I will be contacting them again this year for some more work.
