I had recently called Barry (the owner) because we had a leak around our chimney during the recent rain storm. Our roof is just under 7 years old, and I found the original contract and invoice and thought maybe he could do the repair. A 7 year old roof should not be leaking if things were done correctly. The first initial phone call with Barry wasn't very friendly on his part, just seemed as though he had an attitude right off the bat. Barry calls me and advises me that he is on his way to my house. I promptly leave work and meet him there, I work two mins from home. Before I had gotten there he was already on my roof. I get out of my car about to introduce myself and he walks to the edge of the roof and says ""send me those pictures you were talking about"", I said okay Ill send them now. Now if Barry was any kind of professional, he would have waited for me to get home before going up on my roof.
He is now walking around and shouts down "" who put this tarp up here and put all these holes in your roof??"" I said my Dad put the tarp up because he rain was leaking into our house. There were no holes in the roof. The nails were too short. He shouts down again, ""well where is the leak you are talking about!?"" I replied with ""under the tarp"" - ""well I'm not going to look under there!"" I said well would you like me to move the tarp for you? He replied with I don't even have any tools! Then huffs and puffs and said find, I'll look. He tells me he sees where the problem is. Back tracking a bit I had another roofer take a look as well, and there was a shingle that was placed incorrectly and the caulking was not done. He comes down from the roof and I asked if he could fix it. He said ""well no I'm not gonna fix if it I didn't do anything wrong. If I did then I would fix it, I didn't do you can take me to court."" He mentioned that the previous owner didn't like to spend a lot of money and didn't want to replace the flashing. He left and I reviewed the original invoice and contract and called Barry to let him know of this, he quickly said ""oh does it say that?"" If I messed it up I'll fix it, can you email that to me. So I did. No response, and with the rains coming again I was trying to get this repaired as quickly as possible. I sent a simple text message asking if he had gotten my email and asked if he could respond. Still nothing, I asked him to reply by the end of the day/ next business day. Here was his response- ""OK I was going to maybe work with you but now since you're so pushy I'm gonna stick with my original thing my contract in between Mr. Goldsmith and I has nothing to do with you it's been seven years you guys put 50 nail holes around the work and that's it call my attorney BILL TIFFANY"" I didn't appreciate Barry's ability to communicate or conduct business, he is completely rude and unprofessional.

I had a roof leak and Barry, owner of Hollister Roofing, showed up the next day and on time. Very professional, took photos of the damage and promised a quote by the next morning. After receiving the quote and okaying it he texted back and said that because of the impending rain he would fit me in the next day. As promised a employee showed up and went to work. More photos of the repair in progess and the final photo. This company was reliable, fair and very professional.

From start to finish working with Barry and his crew was a pleasure. I had 3 estimates; Barry was MUCH more thorough in analyzing the situation before giving a quote than the other 2. He thoroughly explained every part of the process and gave me options to choose from. He uses excellent products with lifetime warranties. Another plus--he has addresses of people's homes he has done so you can see how the different colors actually look on the roof. I had a slight problem with a gutter after the first rain--he came out quickly and repaired it at no extra charge. He did a wonderful job with the insulation. A man came and was going to go up in the ""attic""; he said, ""Whoever did your insulation, did an excellent job--there is no room to get up there!!"" I highly recommend Hollister Roofing!

Barry the owner is very thorough in explaining the various options, there is no hard sell, just informing you from his nearly 30 years of professional experience about your choices and the different aspects of each. We loved the selection of colors, textures, and gutter colors. He has an experienced crew of many years who are master craftsmen. The local building inspector mentioned that he enjoys inspecting the work by this company because he knows it is always done with such care. So, we are enjoying our beautiful new roof and there was no mess afterwards. We recommend them without reservation.

I reviewed 3 estimates and Barry came in way lower than the other 2. We had a consultation and Barry explained the process verbally and also visually with an iPad. The work began a few days later and I have to say it went smoothly. From Tino and crew who removed the old roof and cleaned up to Gilbert and his crew who replaced the roof and was readily available to answer my questions on the process. Barry has some good workers who are very conscious of every detail And i now have a beautiful roof and can sleep peacefully knowing my roof won't cave in.
