I am an architect in my 40th year of practice, and I say this only so readers understand who is writing this review. The primary focus of my practice has always been private commercial work, primarily restaurant and retail. I met Steve and Sarah Hollibaugh many years ago when I was designing a line of swimwear retail stores on Florida's west coast and Hollibaugh Construction (HC) joined the Owner's design / build team for multiple store installations. It was during those years that I developed a great working relationship with the Hollibaughs. I have always viewed HC as somewhat of a ""mom & pop"" company that caters to the needs of its clients in a way that larger, more ""corporate"" construction companies seem to have forgotten. I am a seasoned professional and have always been impressed with HC's sense of integrity and genuine ""do-right"" attitude. I am now transitioning into retirement, but I have optimism for the design / construction industry knowing there are companies like HC holding meaningful space in the sector, and it is my hope there are customers out there who will connect with HC and learn the true value of a contractor who understands how important real relationships are to successful business at any scale. Our build started August 2023, stating completion summer of 2024. We are now April 2025, and our house is still only 40% done. Turns out last April, Steve ""ordered the wrong windows."" And they had to be reordered in September. Our windows have been sitting in the warehouse since beginning of February, hasn't contacted the company to have them installed. Hasn't paid the liens placed on our project- for trusses installed almost a year ago and plumbing. contractors have reached out with thousands in late fees that he hasn't paid because ""it keeps them accountable.""
Project continues to be at a standstill, with zero response from Steve Hollibaugh. In January, ""everything was lined up and ready to go."" We left a yelp review in February and that was the last we heard of him with threats to go to an attorney for not removing the review. So since then, he has abandoned the project. We want to finish the house build, but are unable to because Steve isn't paying contractors or replying, and simply refusing to do the job he was paid to do. We are out HUNDREDs of thousands. He has signed a new addendum to the contract saying project will be done 12/31/24 and if not a daily late fee will incur. He has not paid a single penny of the late fee, which is now tens of thousands he owes. Save yourself the headache and your money, and go with someone else.
I may sound like someone who has had a bad experience and leaving a terrible comment but it's been torture working with him for the last 2 years. We have had others reach out to us with the same experience and one who had sued due to no payment and not moving on with their project either. Doing a quick Google search it shows he's been sued for this before, and continues to do it. Sucks that information wasn't available when we started this project otherwise we would never had hired him.

We needed a new roof on our house after the hurricane. It was a very time for roofing companies but Hollibaugh Construction came out within 24 hours of us calling them. They provided us a quote within a few hours that was very detailed and thorough. The contractors were at our house when we were told they were going to be there and they were very clean and worked quickly. The process was way quicker than we expected and very high quality work. I would recommended them to all my friends and family. Thank you!

Hollibaugh construction helped me put a new roof on my house after discovering damage that had to be fixed or would threaten the rest of my house. Despite seemingly every other contractor in town being busy for months out, they got the job done quickly and really saved me and my family! I can't say enough how much I appreciated the professionalism and communication from them as I was going through the process! Big construction projects like this can be intimidating and difficult if you are not in the business, but they helped me understand every part of the process and were very transparent with the pricing and different steps. They are a family-owned company that seems to really care about people! I would absolutely recommend them if you need work done or
are building your dream house!

Should have listened to previous reviews but tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Could not have been more wrong. Used deception on billing then never completed projects. Couldn't even install flooring in the direction we asked. Left unfinished window openings exposed for months after repeated requests to seal up. Still owes us over $40K in unfinished work that we paid for after we fired him. Please do yourself a favor and stay away.

Wonderful family owned and operated business. We never had any problems with them or the subcontractors they used. Quality work and always willing to work with us on anything we weren't happy with.

This company is only in the business of deception. Do your homework before you hire Hollibaugh Construction. They will sweet talk you and make all sorts of promises - but in the end you will end up out of money, owing subcontractors that they never paid, and with terrible workmanship. I know because we hired them. They were never present on the jobsite. We had to finish paying for supplies and contractors to get our pool finished, only to find out that there were many, many subcontractors that they had not paid from the very beginning of our project all the way through to the end. Our project cost us $6,000 over contract and we will have to pay additional money to remedy the terrible workmanship and deficiencies.
Upon learning of Hollibaugh's failure to pay the subs, I started researching other jobs they have been hired to do and learned that they have walked out on at least 5 other homeowners, stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from them and not performing the work. Run In the opposite direction from Hollibaugh Construction - they are thieves!

Still have money owed to our company from November of 2022. They will not answer our phone calls and there is no way to leave a message for them. Bad business practices.
