We just completed 2 roofs using Holden Roofing and the experience was exceptional! Devon was our representative and he was very professional and ensured each project went occurring to plan. One of our roofs included the removal and replacement of several solar panels and Devon handled the entire thing. He ensured the panels were offline for the absolute minimum amount of time. The crews that came to do the job work very well together and accomplished the jobs seamlessly. They laid out tarps and meticulously cleaned the work sites. Devon was at the job sites very frequently to ensure everything was flowing smoothly. If any issues arose, he was there was the solutions. Awesome! He also was up on the roofs at different times during the process and accomplished a final inspection to ensure the projects were accomplished as planned and no defects. He even takes photos for the insurance companies. Devon is amazing to work with and I highly recommend Holden.
They are a disaster of an installer. Sales reps were OK but the quality of their installation is horrible. I have a background in construction and during the final walk of the roof I noticed things that concerned me about installation of the ridge vent. The molded plastic vent cap it supposed to lay flat on the roof. I have a 30-foot run of vent on the top of my ridge and at no point does the vent sit flat on the roof.
I brought it to their attention and asked them why. No one on the job new not the crew leader or the rep who was there. They had no answers and said I was crazy and argued with me. Two months later roof still not repaired. Over that time, I have been working with Owens Corning the manufacturer and have gotten copies of the installation process. It clearly states that the vent cap should be flat on the roof surface. The rep at Owens Corning says there should be no gaps to assure leaves, debris and pests are kept out. I have gaps from 1/8th to 1/2 inch.
Any small rodent or insect can crawl right under and into the open vent cut in the ridge of my roof. They have all been sent copies as if I should be researching the problem not them. Then I found out the day they installed the cap in question no supervisor of the crew was present the whole day. So decisions on installations were made by minions on the crew. There are multiple other issues that's just one, but you probably get the picture. Stay clear of this company if you want a professional job.
DO NOT HIRE HOLDEN ROOFING. Their safety protocols are non-existent, potentially putting you and your family at risk of serious injury. I say that as a victim of their incompetence. At the end of the first day of the roof replacement, my wife and I returned home about 10pm from a HS soccer game, entering from the front door. I then exited the back door to take out some garbage to our detached garage. Unfortunately, the Holden workers had left a 16"" tall stack of roof shingles on the driveway at the base of our backdoor steps. The impact sent me headfirst onto the concrete, and then to the BS&W emergency room in RR for CT brain scan, etc ($1,200+) that found evidence of a concussion. Holden's Austin TX Manager said there were no policy/procedures for storing materials by their subs. I asked to have a senior company manager/owner to call me about this, but to date no one has called. Everyone working for Holden (including Area Managers, installers, etc) are subcontractors making it very difficult to nail down accountability.
Call another company.
Yi L.With hail damage last year, many houses roof in the neighborhood have be replaced. I got the contact of Dustin from a friend, he is very easy to work with, handled the inspection in details and got the insurance approval. Holden is pretty flexible with roofing color selection, we love the new look. My house has solar panels on the roof, which made the project more complicated. There are some hickups, for example the materials were delivered without notice, few old debris on the roof etc. But nothing major, the more important, Dustin is very responsive on fixing issues, Leonel from accouting was also very reasonable, helped with all the forms with mortgage company for the check endorsement. I am overall pretty happy with Holden and recommend them.
There is still some minor concerns for the old debris on the roof/gutter, Dustin will come next week, hopefully it will be addressed soon and we can close the project. Fingers crossed no major hail damage in near future.
This company is corrupted from top to bottom!
I used Holden roof to do my roof a couple yrs ago, now I see leaks on my roof. Not only that, I also found out that they put plastic roof vents on my roof, even though my contract paper explicitly printed ""roof-vent -turtle type -metal"". I called their austin office, their manager (he later told me that he was looking at my contract paper), saying that is not insurance fraud, and wanted me pay ~$2000 for the cost of replacing those plastic vent to metal ones. I also called their Huston office and the office there promised to call me back regarding this issue the 2nd day, but nothing happed after a couple of days.
Stay away from them if you can!
Although the actual roofing job turned out ok, customer service, communication and follow up were lacking. First, the initial rep we met with was terminated before the job started. Our new rep and the regional supervisor came out, introduced themselves and explained they would be taking over and how the insurance company would send the claim check total in two installments. They informed us the first check would need to be endorsed first by the mortgage company and the second check issued after the job was completed, would be sent directly to Holden. They also told us there would be an inspection after completion to ensure quality. We weren't contacted after the job was completed, so I texted our new rep and he said he would get back to me to set up a time for inspection. After multiple texts to both the rep and the supervisor, there was no response and the final inspection never happened.
The gutter crew Holden hired to install our new gutters was not quality. Some of the short runs are not level for water to flow to the downspout. I wanted to point this issue out during the final inspection but they never responded. Next correspondence was from the insurance company saying they were sending us the remainder (second claim check), and it was not being sent directly to Holden as we were previously told. As a result, we had to send the check to the mortgage company for endorsement. The next communication I received from Holden was their collections department looking for remaining balance of the invoice and there was no mention about the final inspection. In summary, always be diligent in researching and always ask for recommendations.
This is a good company and Travis Barnes is who you want to work with. Very professional company who does a good job communicating through different stages of installation.
Their representative offered to inspect our roof and subsequently recommended that we file a claim. Trusting their expertise, we did and the insurer denied our claim. This can lead to an increase in insurance premium. Reading other reviews on here, I'm glad that this will be the extent of our dealings with this company and I never signed their shady contingency contract. I hope this write up can warn others to avoid them at all cost!
After a recent hailstorm, no less than 5 different sales representatives from Holden stopped by. I printed and put up a No Soliciting sign because it becomes very intrusive when you work from home. Mr. Gamez with Holden stops buy, reads the sign, then proceeds to ring and knock on the door followed by hollering ""hello hello"". The repeated barrage of salespeople to houses that experienced damage is their business model. I would never do business them.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY BY ANY MEANS. If you see their signs everywhere, it's not because they are good or even decent. They are great salespeople, but horrible execution wise. They left probably 250+ nails on my property. Their clean up process is a joke. I am going to get a roof inspector to check their work because they are ONLY about sales.
