Hodne replaced our roof in February and everything about the experience was a pleasant surprise. I've dealt with many different contractors both personally and professionally and a lot of those experiences were not good.

I called Doug after learning that the leaks in our roof could not be repaired. Keep in mind that it's January when I placed the call to get a quote. Prior to calling Doug, I called a handful of other roofers to get a quote and they all gave me the ""we're really busy right now, so I will try to get out there in (fill in the blank) days"". With Doug, it was, I will be there on Thursday...and he was there on Thursday. Got the quote. He told me that he won't be the cheapest roofer out there, but he uses quality products and does quality work.

He said the re-roof would take 6-8 days, and it took 7 days, so he hit the mark. The price was the price, there were a few extras that he charged me for (he told me prior about them, so there were no surprises), and there were some extras that he didn't charge me for. His workers were really nice and courteous and always tried to keep their mess and noise to a minimum.

If you like contractors who do what they say and show up when they say, then I would highly recommend that you call Doug at Hodne!

I had Doug replace the roof over our dining area. We interviewed a handful of roofing companies. Of the roofing companies we called, Doug had the clearest, most straight-forward proposal, in addition to a reasonable price and a clear, written description of the scope of work.
In the past, I've had issues with various contractors doing sloppy work, so I was worried since I wasn't able to supervise this roof job. With Doug, I had nothing to worry about. The workers cleaned up daily, were friendly, and when I inspected the work later, I was impressed. Also, there was an area of our interior ceiling where the wooden slats had been cut out by the previous owner. Doug went ahead and fixed the hole at no extra charge. He also made sure that all the vent flashing was done properly and that everything was sealed. It has rained three times since the work was done and it was a relief to not have to worry about leaks. My only regret is not calling him earlier. Highly recommended.

Doug had a lot of projects when I called him but he made time to get me an estimate on the same day during his busy schedule. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything thoroughly. Also, he is a very honest person. His crew did an excellent job and are very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

Amazing! He not only answered his phone but came out last minute notice on a Sunday. This is a rarity in itself! I had a leak coming through my ceiling into my living room that one other roofer had tried to patch the week before. He didn't charge last minute/weekend etc repair charges etc.. Doug from Honde Construction is awesome!! He came out to check on our skylights - we were having concerns about leaking around the skylight area since the paint around the area is peeling away. He explained to us why there wasn't any leaking and why the paint is peeling due to sun exposure. He also checked on the water marks around the window area and found out that the leaking was due to cracks from the flower planter right outside the window. He also gave us honest advises on possible issues we may run into with our floor remodeling. In addition, he gave his opinion on solar panel since we are interested in installing them. After spending over an hour with us, he wished us best of luck on our home remodeling and didn't charge us any fee!! It was a great service, and we will definitely choose Honde Construction if we run into any roof problem in the future.

We just finished a job with Doug Hodne, ""tightening up"" our shake roof for the winter. He was enthusiastically recommended to us by a neighbor who does a great job maintaining her home. We're very glad we followed her lead. Doug really knew what had to be done and what wasn't yet needed. Our Townhouse association (3 units) decided to replace our existing 25 year old roof and after deciding which style choice shingle we contracted Hodne Construction for the work. Doug Hodne was referred to us by a local friend and his work was highly regarded by more than one source. Doug and his crew installed the roof for all three units and in addition replaced some of the failing wood trim and chimney caps. We also had Doug install two roof vents for two bathroom fans not part of the original construction that I later installed myself. In addition we decided to incorporate ridge venting which would keep our attic passively cooled. This was also accomplished and our now cooler attic translates to cooler upper level floors to combat those hot summer months.

The roofing team worked well together and all of the work was done on time. The new roof looks very nice as I admire it while walking the neighborhood. This roof will last our lifetime and beyond. We definitely recommend Doug Hodne without reservation. Doug is very personable, very detailed in his work, and you will be happy with your new roofing project when he is done.

In April of last year Hodne Construction installed my solar panels, solar powered skylights and repaired my roof. Prior to engaging him, I visited him on a nearby job site. I was impressed with his knowledge of his craft, his interpersonal skills and his crew. I liked the fact that he maintains and services the panels he installs. His price was fair for the excellent quality of work and materials he installed.

Nearly a year later, I am very pleased with my solar panel installation and my electric bill which has gone from $150 per month to $3.00. Ecstatic is a better word to describe how I feel. After my solar panels, which were installed by another contractor, burned out Doug was the only one who would even come out to check out the problem. I was very pleased when he not only found out what was wrong (BP panels that were known to be bad) he helped me get money from BP and then did an excellent re-install, re-wire and re-confiuration that doubled the output of the system. His pricing was very fair and the work was excellent. I would, and have, refer him to anyone needing a great contractor who still believes a persons word is his bond! Thanks Doug!!
