I've been needing to get my roof replaced since 2017. I have been fighting with my insurance company for awhile until they went out of business during covid. I had a tarp up there to cover the likely area of the leak.
When I finally decided to give up on the possibility of insurance money covering the cost, I got really nervous about how much a new roof would cost me. I have a large home in a well to do neighborhood, which results in companies charging me 2-3 times more then expected, once they enter the gate.
I asked neighbors for their recommendations and ended up calling Winter Springs roofing and Collis Roofing. My neighbors got shingles for 70k, my other neighbors tile at 120k and 150k. So you can imagine how stressed I was, planning to pay for this new roof. Both companies came out within days of my request fir a quote, but Collis' estimate took over a week to arrive after the estimator came by. During that time, I was becoming impatient. I started looking for another quote. A friend at work told me about Hodges Brothers. I called, they answered, and they came out the same day! He even offered me an estimate while he was there, saying it would be ballpark that amount and he would confirm after some satellite imaging measurements. I received confirmation within a day or two and the price was so good, I could not refuse. I appreciated that he spoke to me as a friend; we discussed home resale values for tile versus shingle, and I felt very supported in my decision making.
They dropped off samples of everything at my home so I could have a look at the materials and colors. Paperwork was done over email and was very simplified. They secured all the permits while I contacted the HOA for approval. Work started within two weeks of the estimate. They removed a the tiles and replaced the roof with a beautiful black shingle in 2.5 days! During that time, they also supervised the wood replacement I needed, as well as the painting of the replacement wood. This was such a nice gesture since I was stuck at work.
The work site was cleaned up and never did I have any issue with a flat tire due to loose nails. They were respectful of my property and the landscaping. They even used wood protection under the dumpsters on the driveway.
I am very pleased with the result and I would definitely recommend them. I have since received an email from the shingle company for a warranty, all of which they handled. The roof passed all the inspections and was finished faster than I imagined it would be. I used his subcontractors to paint the flashings, replaced wood, and around the eaves as needed. They did great work and finished the job in two days. I also used his subcontractor to repair the damaged drywall on the inside of my home from the leaks. The repair was great. I was so thankful to have all of this done at the same time as the roof. It can be stressful when home renovation projects get drawn out. This one was easy and affordable.

We have found the best roofing company, local and truly family owned and operated. We had our roof done in 2012 and were very happy with both the job and the Hodges. A few years later a tree limb fell and made a hole right into our family room. They came out right away and patched it right up, again with a smile and great attitude. It's been 7 years and we had a small issue with a leak in a pesky corner. We called, they called back and came out the next day. Found the leak and fixed it, very professionally handled and yes, again good natured, all with in 45 minutes. It is easy to tell that they care very much about their business and their customers.
