Absolutely happy with how this project turned out. They were not the cheapest (you get what you pay for, in my opinion) however, the service was fantastic and the attention to detail exceeded all expectations. I often sit outside enjoying my coffee and watching my kids play (now that I can actually see the play scape!). Yes, as with any construction, there were snafus- these are to be expected. I always judge not on if there are issues but on how they address them! Adam was amazing to work with. He came in and immediately understood our vision and made it happen. The only thing I wish we had done was add more power outlets. We only did 2 and I think we should have done 4- lesson learned for the future!

Overall- even with the pandemic they were able to make everything happen. They got behind but this was expected because of supplies being delayed etc. they communicated with us every step of the way though. Having completed numerous construction projects in our lives both personal and for work- you get what you pay for! It's not worth Id for us to deal with trouble and issues and fighting with the GC- we did that before- the peace of mind and known quality from Hill Country make it an easy call. They will give you the service you want and will go the extra mile if things change midway!

Really appreciate HCOL. They provided great design ideas, were up front with us on timelines to help set our expectations properly, and built a great deck, pergola, and outdoor kitchen for us. What really set them apart was some adjustments to our grill and a few other items afterwards. Adam really went above and beyond to check in and make the requested adjustments. I can't say enough about this follow up, it was beyond professional, it was incredibly friendly. Thanks Adam and HCOL!

Yea so I connected with this company over thumbstack.com and
he(owner) initially seemed interested in the work. Try to set up a time but he wanted to give me a rough quote before he came out. I sent him a master plan and site survey with added descriptions of the work to be done. This included plants, quantities and sizes needed. I did not expect a quote from that but asked him to come out to see the job site. Only then could he give a quote. I am not sure from his questions if he even looked at info I sent him. Then at last minute he says he can't make the appointment he proposed and agreed to. Said he wanted to see other landscapers bids first before he bid on the job.

What a waste of my time. If he didn't want the job he should have said so. If he was too busy to even bid on the job he should have said so. If he is so busy he can't bid on a job I would imagine he is too busy to start, work on and finish the job.

Thumbstack would not let me leave a review unless I hired him. So I hope most people will check out yelp.

The owner was not nice to deal with and always over promised and under delivered. He continuously blamed the weather and other issues that had nothing to do with our project. Once the project started over a week late, he said it would be done in 3 days. In the end it took over a week later before the project was finished. The end product was good and the crew was nice, but not worth dealing with a terrible management and trying to schedule other projects simultaneously.
