I'm all too familiar with the scams and unethical b'ness practices in the home improvement industry and it often feels like a matter of finding which company will end up causing the least liability at end of job as opposites finding a company that is qualified.

Hicks is Big. They been around for a while and have mastered this game. You will end up paying twice for the same job. You will not get support for their work unless they think an opportunity to make more money is there (instead of fixing a job that should have been completed properly in the first place).

Also - check their estimates - their disclosures are not only humorous but against public policy. It actually says they guarantee pretty much none of their work. Sadly, For most homeowners, once they are made aware of this after the fact they end up paying up again it realizing such clauses are not enforceable.

I used Hicks Roofing on a second house, twice in about 15 years. Both experiences were good. The Hicks sales representative was the only sales rep who actually went up and looked at my roof - everyone else only took pictures. He explained my shingle and underlayment options without a hard sell. Their prices are not the lowest but their service is very good. Sheryl in the office kept me updated on delays due to weather and was responsive when I had questions.

Spent about $30k on a new roof and several months later, leaks started to appear. They came out to fix but leaked again. This happened every month for a year.

Then they told me I had to replace some components to correct the issue once and for all. Another $1100. I said ok fine.

Guess what? leak came back. Worst company ever. Don't waste your time and money. Go with another company. I'm thinking to sue them if they do not get this corrected.

Extremely poor quality and poor customer service.

I told the salesman and the receptionist that I could not have the roof installed during a specific one week period and the crew and truck with supplies showed up during that time.

Inspector Arturo came after the installation, walked around my house once and then went through my neighborhood playing pokemon on his phone.

The roof was installed and water was missing the gutter and running down the front of my house when it rained. A crew came out to repair and they were amazed at the amount of nails throughout my property left by the original crew .

Six months after the roof was installed I had a major leak with water flooding my garage. I had to file an insurance claim and have a remediation company gut the sheetrock.

It has been four days since flooding my garage and no one from Hicks has been to my house to look at the roof yet. I called the office and the receptionist argued with me.

For $9000 I expect better.

From start to finish everything was handled in an outstanding manner. When I called and spoke with Kelly she got me set up to get someone out to fix my problem. When Thomas arrived they quickly surveyed the problem and proceeded to fix it. Work was completed in a very timely manner. They were very courteous and made sure I was satisfied with the completed work before they left.

Hicks Roofing was a great roofing contactor to deal with during our first roofing project. Our account representative, David Connell, was very helpful and worked with us through the entire process. We have never gone through roofing a home and were surprised with how easily everything worked out. I would definitely recommend Hicks to family and friends!

Hick's Roofing is a terrible company to deal with. We scheduled an appointment with them to check out a leak in Smyrna. Since it's raining, they told us they could only put a tarp on - but do no other inspections or repairs. That would have been fine, if they had told us that or called BEFORE their appointment. After they no-showed, we called to find out where they were and Kelly in the office admitted to misplacing our paperwork and not calling us to cancel in advance. So now we took the day off from work for no reason. On top of that, they would not let me speak to a supervisor or manager. Worst company ever. Would still like to speak to a manager about my complaint.

They did my roof and gutters and did a good job, hauled off all the mess and have followed up for 2 years. One of the gutters clogged and they came and cleaned it out for us. I am very happy with the service I get from them.
