Israel, Marthel and team did a great job addressing weather/age damage, re-roofing, and replacing skylights on our wood patio cover. Significant sanding & staining was required in tight spaces, so had to be done by hand. Israel really knows what he is doing, and did a great job matching the grain of pre-existing wood, and the color of pre-existing stain on both old wood and some new additions. Their diligence and attention to detail was very much appreciated, as was their flexibility in working with our schedule restrictions. They were also very easy to have around throughout the course of the job.

We had water damage to a bathroom subfloor that needed to be fixed before a new vinyl floor could be put in. I emailed and phoned HH Tone Construction and got an immediate response from Martel. He and Jose were able to come out the same day, assess the situation, quote the job, and finish within a few hours. The repair was strong and clean, better than original construction (1964, Sunnyvale), and the price was reasonable. It's a pleasure to recommend them.

We removed a rotten deck to replace it with pavers and discovered some nasty termite damage in the process. Our landscaper recommended Israel and he was out the next day to give an estimate. He came out and replaced a lot of rotten/damaged wood, siding, and put in a lot of new waterproofing.

What really impressed me was he was very reasonable on pricing (could have been much more and I was kind of stuck being in the middle of another project) and he was good at explaining issues and giving me options on how I wanted it fixed.

When done I was really impressed how well the siding matched. You really can't tell there was a repair done. Quality and experience was better than expected and that's not something you hear all that often in construction.

Max stars. I brought Israel and his son Martel in to a significant structural home repair. Seller deception, legal claims, complication from insurance involvement, and emergency repair requirements after escrow and prior to move in made this frame damage situation quite hairy.

Israel was able to skillfully navigate not just construction considerations that our job introduced but also billing, scheduling, and ultimately weather challenges too. This was a tricky job for both home owner and contractor, only because of how it transpired, yet Israel was easy to work with, did the work quickly, checked in when decision making was needed, and provided expert advice that turned out to be advantageous.

A+ , highly recommended for home construction, and will use again if need arises.

Summary: My experience with Israel and his crew was wonderful from start to finish and I cannot recommend them enough.

I want to start at the very beginning of the process my fiancé and I went through in remodeling our kitchen. We interviewed all kinds of people. Some of them seemed really great at first but then became really pushy, were unwilling to answer questions or turned out to be poor communicators. My favorite guy made snide comments about the cleanliness of our home. It was astonishing. Also, more than one contractor outright said they wouldn't do the tile we wanted in the kitchen because it was too much work. Again, another bizzare turn in the interviewing process to be denied something we were more than willing to pay for. We are a younger couple getting into the swing of home ownership and I think a lot of assumptions were made off of how we looked and the process we were in of updating our home.

I wanted to explain all of that because I want to show how different HH Tone was from all of the others we interviewed.

First of all, they're just really nice. Not the sickly sweet nice that people who want your business hit you with (while making comments about your house being dirty). Just straight up good person nice. We explained what we wanted, Israel started taking measurements and talked to us about the kinds of things we could do and wrapped it up by asking us to provide an estimate from another contractor we were getting an estimate from so he could see what he could do. He gave us the best price by far. Better yet, everything we said we wanted, including the tile floor, he said he would do. What I really appreciated was a point he made throughout the renovation process: He would provide his opinion if he thought something may not be the best idea, but at the end of the day it was our kitchen and he would do whatever we wanted.

His guidance was extremely valuable to us. My fiancé and I were so excited to get rid of the original, small 70s kitchen that after demolition we realized we didn't have an actual solid plan. Definitely not how you want to enter into a remodeling adventure but very us. We turned to Israel and his son for advice many times and the advice they gave always helped lead us into a direction we wanted to go into. I cannot stress enough how much it wasn't Israel making decisions for us but just helping us along the path when we asked. Also, it was great to have someone tell us what we needed to figure out next because I was scrambled. I had no experience with remodeling up to this point. Everyone he worked with had knowledge that was invaluable and were great teachers. I sincerely enjoyed every person who worked on our kitchen and every one of them did amazing work.

Which brings me to another point, I was very comfortable with having everyone who was a part of HH Tone in my home. Clearly, there is a job that needed to be done no matter what but given how much time you ultimately spend with the same people coming into your home day after day, it was really wonderful to be working with people who I legitimately felt comfortable around and enjoyed having there. I was really pretty sad when the work was done because of how much I came to enjoy having them around.

HH Tone ticks all of the boxes. Our kitchen is beautiful, it fits our dream of what we wanted, and the HH Tone crew were absolute professionals in everything they did. They act on the feedback they are given and really just want to leave you happy. An especially important point for me, I genuinely enjoyed having them in my space. I never felt more than the normal amount of awkward that comes with getting to know new people and by the end I was legitimately sad to see them go. We will definitely be using them again for our future renovations on our home and I would recommend anyone else to use them too. Whenever I hear someone talking about renovating their home, I tell them about HH Tone. If you're reading this, getting ready for that journey, I whole heartedly recommend giving them a call.

One more thing! They got it done on time! We wanted to be able to host our families for Thanksgiving and they got it done in that time frame from the first week of October to the day before Thanksgiving.

As far as what they did:

Changed floor plan, making kitchen bigger
Moved sink and dishwasher to a new spot
Hooked up water for refrigerator
Installed gas line for gas stove
Installed my other oven and microwave
Got rid of a window to get more wall space for cabinets
Made another window smaller
Installed skylight
All the tile and electrics and counters and cabinets and it's just so amazing, wow. *The material we chose for the counters was not easy to work with but they made it look absolutely wonderful when it was all done
