By far the worst communication and customer service I've ever had to deal with. The entire process took over a year. DO NOT sign the initial contract with the sales person until you do your research. We wound up paying over $40,000 for a roof and some dry wall interior work. I wish we would have read the other reviews before signing the contract, which they threatened us with multiple times. I have dozens of unanswered emails and countless calls/voicemails that were never returned. Very small company with employees who seem to have no clue what is going on. Its been 14 months of the worst business practices.

The sales rep was decent, the roofing job they did on our home was good, but sending additional invoices after the initial invoice was settled is unprofessional and sneaky.
Since the original invoice was settled, this company has sent two more invoices over a year after the work was completed claiming that they are owed money. My insurance company has been trying to work with them to figure out the situation to no avail. I do not recommend this company.
If this matter is not resolved soon, The next step will be to contact the Florida Licensing Department. In my opinion, companies like this should not be in business.

I would give them zero stars if I could. The worst people to deal with. They send out a estimator and collect my deductible. Agree on the cost with the insurance company just to finish the job and inflate the costs and go after the consumer for the money. The insurance company is not allowing the inflated costs because they do not file the proper paper work to get approval for the increase, and the reason why they do that is because they know that the insurance is not going to approve that. They did not do anything out of the ordinary to do my roof which means there is no justification for the increases. The employees are rude. Urinating on the wall of my home, they do not take the proper steps to keep the ground covered to catch all the nails they drop. I was stepping on these nails for months because couldn't see them. Now over a year later and no notices they are still trying to get the consumer to pay the balance after I paid the deductible with collections agency ruining my credit. Why would they care they do not care what their employees do when you call to complain so why would they care about the consumer. Such a crooked operation and wish I would have read reviews prior but took a co workers recommendation because his daughter worked there. BUT when I set this up she no longer worked there. Should have known. STAY away Far away from these crooks. Going to have to get an attorney and cost me more money just so they do not get it

    DON'T TRUST THEM!!!

A representative from Heritage Construction approached me and requested to inspect our roof -- as they were replacing a neighbor's. They told me my roof had wind damage and that insurance would likely cover the full cost minus the deductible. They assured me that there would be no cost to me except my deductible and had me sign paperwork stating the same. Insurance reviewed the claim and agreed to pay for the cost of full replacement (which was great!). Unfortunately, after that it was all down hill.

While they did a nice job replacing the roof, they left nails everywhere. It took me five calls to finally get them picked up. On a couple occasions they lied and said they picked them up. When my neighbor stepped on a nail, they admitted their mistake.

My biggest issue is that they essentially STOLE $3,000 from me! To my understanding, all fees had been paid by insurance and nothing remained outstanding. There was no communication otherwise. However, when we went to sell our house, we learned that Heritage placed a lean on our home and took the money out of closing fees.

When I called them, they said that it was a mistake and insurance needed to pay me back because they were still owed money for the roof. After multiple calls/emails with insurance, Heritage failed to provide documentation on why money was still owed to them. Per insurance, their quote went up multiple times and it appeared they were trying to charge for more materials than necessary.

While Heritage admitted that the money should not have been collected from me, they said that insurance would have to refund me even though it was paid to Heritage. After a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and nearly six months of calls/emails, they still have not resolved the issue. I requested that they pay me back for what they ""stole"" from me and deal directly with insurance to get what they believe to be owed. They failed to respond to this request on multiple occasions.

They are basically crooks! Don't trust them. If they tell you that you could get a roof covered by insurance, believe them, but then call somebody else who will deal with you in a fair and ethical manner.

Do not use this company, They say they will work with the insurance company to determine the cost of the job. Then they try to get you to pay more. They say ""you have to pay us your deductible"". My deductable is an arrangement between me and my insurance company, not something I pay them beyond the cost of the job. You can be sure that a significant part of the money I paid them came out of my own pocket (my deductible). I even got a signed ""Final Affidavit and Release of Lien"" that was filed with the county that stated the the bill was paid in full, and that they can not make any more claims or liens . Apparently a signed and notarized document, filed with the county government means nothing to the collections department because they still harassed me for more money. They even went back to my insurance company and tried to get more money from them. They do not send out any kind of invoice that shows the cost of the job or the amount you have paid. Every E-mail has a different amount they say I owe. There have been 3 different collections people from their company communicating with me. and I have to explain it all over again. Do yourself a favor and use someone else.

This company does not have an ounce of integrity! They collect insurance money for work they don't even do. I opened my own insurance claim and did a roof repair with another roofing company and closed my claim. Heritage comes soliciting to my door and convinces me to sign an AOB for a new roof. I reopened the same claim I did my repair, the repair was covered under the same claim for the new roof. I provide them my receipt like the insurance company Instructed me to do for them to deduct from my deductable. Heritage collects the insurance money for the repair they did NOT even do and then they make me pay it again in my deductable. Then when they respond to my BBB complaint their response is ""why would I think a repair would be covered under a 11/13/17 claim"" when it clearly states on the paper work date of loss 9/11/17 the date I opened the claim to do the repair! Then there next response is no where on the paper work does it say a repair to be ""done first!"" How ridiculous is that! Would I have to do a repair after they install a new roof? I have all the paperwork to prove my complaint! Save yourself some grieve and use a reputable roofing contractor! Like I said not an ounce of integrity, total greed with Heritage Roofing! Worst company I have ever dealt with, and I am a senior citizen and have dealt with a lot of companies for home repairs over the years!

I give this place no rating, not even one star, but they wouldnt let me post this review unless I did..so just pretend there is no start rating up there..We have been trying to chase them down for months for a release on monies because , as advised from ins co, the house should come down, not be repaired.,We never had an answered phone call in 5 months.. so we decided to go , in person, to talk with them. One of the men working there became so irate that he came at my fiance, almost nose to nose, yelling 'you want to go at it? lets go! right now! ""
Then threatening that he will get me for insurance fraud. This place is the worst company I have ever entered into. The arrogance of the employees was unreal. And still, no resolvment of the monies.

    Caution Homeowners!
Do not sign an Assignment Of Benefits (AOB) with any contractor.
Many contractors are now using AOB's to make lots of money for themselves. Heritage is no exception. Essentially when a homeowner signs an AOB they are giving the contractor the right to any payment from an insurance claim for the work they do on your behalf. A salesperson will make this sound nice: ""You won't have to fight with your insurance company, we'll take care of everything."" While this sounds nice, it's really working in their favor, not yours! By signing the AOB you forfeit any and all leverage against the contractor to ensure they do a good job for you! They now only have to negotiate with your insurance company and do not have to deal with the homeowner at all. This becomes a problem when you personally have to meet with them at your home and have to ensure they are doing what is promised... When they do not follow through or miss appointments with you, you have no leverage against them what so ever! They are only obligated to negotiate with your insurance company. In my case, the reputable insurance company agreed to pay the contractor over $34,000 for a roof on a single family, 1 story, less than 3000 sq.ft. home in central Florida. That is over $14,000 above the cost of an average new roof in our neighborhood! Sadly every bit of that was paid and I am still unhappy with the resulting work they did! I implore you, please do not do business with Heritage Construction & Roofing which will only help to support their practices that are a considerable contribution to the skyrocketing cost of insurance premiums for all of us.

Please see some of the negative outcomes of AOB's here:

It was a very disappointing experience with Heritage Construction and Roofing. Whatever you do, do not deal with a salesman named Brent M. He is a liar. Heritage via Brent, tried to make us pay 100% up front for the job before one nail had been driven into the roof of our house. They had already received over 65% of the money as a deposit from our insurance. Brent proceeded to tell me that it is Heritage's policy to get 100% up front before they start. As soon as the job was finished and before inspection, Brent was at our door looking for the final check. I was not willing to give him the full final until they passed inspection. It took three weeks for them to pass inspection. The only reason we found out we passed, was because we contacted the county ourselves. The only time you will see Brent on your job (although he swears he is the supervisor of said job and will be there) is when he has his hand out for money.
