Half Moon Bay Roofing did the roof for our custom house in 2008. It was a difficult metal roof; the only issue I had was that the touch up paint faded after 5 years, but overall happy.

Recently (End of July 2016) we called them out to fix and repair some gutters that are in custom gutter boxes.

It is one of the best experience I have had with a contractor in a long time: We got an immediate response from our phone call; Greg Garcia came out the next day and gave us a quote (not cheap, but what we expected); they started the next day and his crew worked at full speed. Any time there was an issue or concern Greg contacted us immediately to see how we wanted to proceed. And ultimately I was impressed with their professionalism and quality of work.

It is really hard to believe that other reviewers didn't have this same experience.

I'm not one to write reviews very often, but I just had such a terrible experience with the owner of this company, Greg Garcia, that I felt compelled to share. If I could give zero stars then I would. Everything started out seemingly well - Greg promptly returned my initial call and went out to check on the leak in my roof. However, that's where the good stopped. 9 days after going to my house in La Honda, I still had not heard back from him. I followed up with a call and when he answered it sounded as if he were drunk. He then produces a quote for repairing a leak that is so outrageous I could have practically bought a new roof. When I told him it was way more than I had expected and that I would need to digest the information and think about what to do, he became belligerent and insulting. When I asked him if he talked to all prospective clients this way he screamed at me and hung up the phone. Certainly not anyone I would ever want to do business with, or entrust my roof to. Stay away if you are smart.

If you want a honest no nonsense roofer. Greg Garcias HMB ROOFING is your best bet. He just did my parents roof not only finished it just before the big rains but even came back around to make sure everything was fine. Very professional and all around good business. So if you want a local roofer who backs his work 100% use Half Moon Bay Roofing you will not be disappointed.

Excellent quality, dependable and honest work. Greg Garcia delivers on what he estimates a job will be both on time, materials and cost. I love my new roof which was a transition from a tar and gravel to a composite shingle along with gutters. In addition, Greg created a copper roof for a bay window in the front of my house which is absolutely beautiful. His crew was thoughtful and cleaned up my yard but overall the work is excellent. I have lived in this community for 15 years and Half Moon Bay Roofing has a stellar reputation backed up by the owner Greg Garcia.

Greg did my roof 30 years ago and just did my house again. I am very pleased with the Job from Half Moon Bay Roofing , on time and did some replacement of dry rot areas at no charge. The Crew work eight hours days plus everyday till done. Greg had permits on time also replaced old gutters with copper. I also use Half moon bay roofing at very fair price to clean my gutters each year. Greg is long term resident Od Half Moon Bay who takes pride in his work.

Half moon Bay Roofing did a wonderful job on my roof./ deck. being that is also a deck it gets rained and is a flat surface that we could not take any chances with. Greg did a wonderful job. I am happy to say it's been about 3 years and no problems. Thanks

I had a very good experience with Greg at Half Moon Bay Roofing.

I just bought a new house and I had leaks in my roof. Greg had done some patch work for the previous owners, but they admitted that no one they talked to would guarantee that a patch would stop the leak.

Greg personally oversaw the work and did some of it himself. They ripped off two layers of shingles, fixed the dry rot underneath and put in a solar tube. They even patched the paint on my house and painted the plywood that they put in. They roofed the entire house and put in new gutters in 4 days. Greg even came back to do some work he had forgotten we had agreed on and did the work without charging me extra for it. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves.

The roof looks great. The gutters go the entire length of the house without a seam. The entire project was done within 2 weeks of us agreeing to have Half Moon Bay Roofing do the work.

Before hiring Half Moon Bay Roofing, I got a reference for them from my Realtor. The reference I spoke with was also impressed with the quality of Greg's work and his willingness to take care of extra things without charging extra. Overall, the roof, gutters and solar tube cost me less than I had anticipated.

As long as you clearly communicate what you want with Greg, he will make it happen.
