Haleakala Solar recently completed a new solar hot water system for our condo development. We were very grateful they were willing to take on this complex task for a price our little development (18 units) could afford. Our electricity bills have come down by 30 percent, even in winter. The entire project took six months from beginning to end, which is very reasonable for a multistory residential building. We enjoyed working with Haleakala employees and love our new system.

Recently installed a Tesla battery with Haleakala Solar. We had a great working experience with Ted Grupenhoff, senior solar and roofing consultant and Cryschelle Belena, project coordinator, Maui. Both responded quickly to questions and concerns. After the installation, they followed up to ensure we were satisfied with the work. We would be happy to work with them again if another opportunity arises to use Haleakala Solar services.

we had them install a system August 2023. One month after the install, production dropped dramatically. Then in November 2023, my monitoring app kept indicating errors. Eventually on December 25, 2023 the entire solar system tripped the fuse, worse, tripped the main HECO box and sparks flex.

Once the company decided to come out, Jan 4. 2024 they claimed it was a bad inverter and needed to be swapped out. Tesla, the Manufacture ran tests and the inverter was reported as perfectly fine.

No communication with me on what was going on....kept reaching out, most of the time they just flat ignored the efforts.

They came back out, AFTER I contacted the finance department, although the finance company indicated that they had been there the day before. THEY LIED. No one came out the day they said. Once I informed the Finance Company, miraculously they should up that day...no call no nothing just showed. Went on the roof, explained to me that Tesla told they this was an Installer Wiring Issue, not the inverter. That day, they found 5 defective connectors (MCA) on the roofs. Stated they replaced them. Attempted to turn on system....nope blow circuits again.

They again said it was the inverter, Tesla disagreed, again. It has now been 28 days since the system has been dead and i am paying for HECO $500 and Finance Company: Dividend $400 per month!

Worst company, service, communication on my life.

I now need to file a lawsuit. This is pathetic.

I have had a long relationship with Haleakala Solar and Roofing. I purchased a solar panel system for my Kihei home several years ago. The installation was quick and professional. Their employees are courteous, the installation and service personnel were very knowledgeable and efficient. Even the office staff is very professional, they always return my calls promptly and attend to any concerns or questions that I may have. I later purchased a new roof which was installed by Haleakala Solar and Roofing. A new solar hot water system with a panel was also purchased at the same time. I highly recommend Haleakala Solar to anyone wanting a quality product and great service. My electric bill is now almost non-existent and I couldn't be happier!

I trusted Haleakala Solar with a large PV installation (over 50 panels) a couple of years ago, choosing them over two other bids. I was assured the system would work in a certain way, with very clear and detailed descriptions from the sales agent. The details of this are not important for the review, but suffice it to say that I found out I had been conned when I was trying to sell my home a couple of months ago. I was informed by Haleakala's own staff that the system was not functioning as promised and that I had been lied to about how it would function in order to close a sale quickly.

This was after the company assured me just two weeks earlier that it was functioning exactly as I had been told (this was the second lie from the company with the first being when it was installed). I attempted to contact the company on three separate occasions with no call backs until someone emailed me to advise that it was a problem with my inverter, the first I heard of such, and odd since the actual engineer told me the inverter was working (this was lie #3). I was then promised a review with an engineer/technician on Monday of this week, and three days later, no word (lie #4).

May my experience of dishonesty and thievery from this company inform others as I am out of a lot of money that I will never recoup. They clearly have no intention on making this right given the lack of correspondence from the company and ongoing lies about what is actually happening. Literally go anywhere else unless you like having your money fly out of your bank account for no good reason. And if you do go with Haleakala Solar, please make sure an actual independent electrical engineer reviews the plans. Don't trust what they have to tell you unless you are one yourself.

Outstanding experience from initial estimating to final completion! Top quality materials and installation. Thorough, responsive oversight and management by Operations Manager Robert Muraoka. Conscientious attention to detail by all installers, especially by Patrick, Dino, and JP. Juvie did an excellent job coordinating and communicating. We are very happy with the finished product and highly recommend Haleakala Solar!

Called them twice and left messages to see if they could help us, no response. Left messages on their online form for service, no response. Sadly, I've contacted them because of references and they surely haven't lived up to the what people have said. I'm beginning to think that people share this company because that might be the only company they've tried.

They probably have enough business, don't need anymore. The one star is probably because I was able to leave a voicemail and they have a website.

We wanted to reroof our house, and in the process, add insulation to a ceiling where there was none. Checking local roofing contractors, we noticed Haleakala Solar had expanded their services into the roofing business. We had previously used Haleakala Solar to design and construct a solar carport for us, and were very happy with their performance then, so we called them out for a consultation.

They recommended installing a 2x4 grid structure on top of the existing roof, filling the space with closed-cell insulation, adding a radiant barrier, and putting on a new roof deck and shingles. Said they had sucessfully done this before, so we placed a contract with them. They were out in a few weeks with the materials and went to work. It was a big job for a small house, but they completed it in 6 working days.

I have to say they were very professional and did a fantastic job. The ceiling temperature, measured with an infrared thermometer, dropped by about 15 degrees. Our house is so much more comfortable now, I wish we had done this years ago!

Haleakala Solar put on a new roof for us two years ago. Ted and the team advised us on what type of roof was best for us. Everyone there is very knowledgable. They've Obviously been doing this a while. during installation they were very reliable andDid an excellent job. I would highly recommend them for a roof, or solar system. Since they do both, they know how one affects the other, And they stand behind their work.
