When I had a problem with tripping off my solar system they quickly responded. The original problem arose when I was replacing a broken three-way light switch. I did it incorrectly and overloaded the circuit and tripped off breakers in my critical loads breaker box and the inverter. Moki and Wes responded immediately and got our power restored. Truly great customer service.

I've had a Haleakala PV system since 2013. This year I decided to add a Battery Bonus system, and I got estimates from a number of companies, and once again chose Haleakala solar with a Tesla Powerwall.
The sales person seemed pretty knowledgeable about both the product and the various options including Battery Bonus. He did a site survey, and confirmed my new equipment would fit into my desired enclosure.
After paying my deposit, I received an initial design plan from them. I wanted to make some changes to the plan, which they quickly accommodated. They also submitted the plans electronically to DPP, and filled out and submitted the paperwork to HECO on my behalf. Couldn't have been easier, and took about 4 weeks. The coordinator sent a very complete outline of the various steps in the process, and an estimated time frame to complete them, so there was no surprises.
My original panels had developed a squeak after many years of high winds; Haleakala came out and repaired the issue, including finding and fixing a crack in my Munir tile.
My install was 2 weeks ago. The first day, they installed 9 new PV panels. The second day, they completed putting in the wiring and the new Tesla battery and gateway. About a week later, they returned to provision the entire system, which is operating now. Next step will be inspection and permit approval.
I'm very happy with the sales process, design process, and installation so far. I have every reason to believe that they will handle the rest of the process shortly subject to when the inspector is available.
My only issue to date has been that one of the circuit breakers they installed tripped the evening after the install. They ended up sending out a tech after hours to show me how to get back online, and then came back to address the issue permanently during the next appointment.

Stay clear. The company was bought back by original owner. Currently LG batteries are being recalled. Haleakala Solar has done zero to help it's customers this has affected. Poor poor. They sold me a product and they should behind it but they don't and they say that LG product is not one they would Ever use.

Actually NO stars are appropriate. Beware of this company! Although they have changed ownership, the new management has limited staffing (which we didn't know at the time of purchase) so things take time and they have not been very responsive.
We put a deposit down for a small NEM Plus system at the end of August. A site survey was done in September and design was completed in October. An electrician came out on 10/21/21 to give us a proposal for additional work we were considering. In talking to the electrician to get clarification how the NEM Plus system would work with our existing NEM system, the information we got from the electrician was inconsistent with the info we received from the salesman. I emailed Haleakala to get clarification.
It's been over a month and Haleakala still can't explain (don't know?) how their NEM Plus system works with existing NEM systems. Haleakala asked if we wanted our money refunded which we said yes. It's been almost 2 weeks and we still have not received our refund check. (Note: if you charge your payment, Haleakala keeps your charge info in their files.) If Haleakala hopes to stay in business, they better know what they are selling and improve their business practices.

I'm quite puzzled at the negative reviews posted here. Haleakala Solar just completed a removal and replacement of my solar water heater system and I was totally satisfied from start to finish. They evaluated the job, gave me a quote, designed the project, submitted the required paperwork to our community association architectural committee and explained the tax benefits available. As for the actual work I was very impressed with Mo and his crew. They showed up on time as scheduled, worked safely and efficiently and paid attention to details. Mo also was very informative answering all the questions I had about the project. I was totally satisfied with the final result. In general I would highly recommend this company for any solar needs.

This company is great! They did my solar rooftop installation 10 years ago. Last week one of the 12 inverters failed with just 4 months to go on the 10 year parts and labor warranty. They immediately sent someone out to replace the inverter at no charge.

Requested relocation of panels due to installation of hood above my new stovetop. Also requested replacement of 4 panels due to damage from a BB/pellet gun.
Have made several attempts to contact since October 2020 and have not heard from Haleakala Solar to date -
February 25,2021.

Do NOT use this company. The salesperson was not competent enough in the technicalities of solar to recommend the correct products for my needs. Poor service during installation. The installers were late to work or no-showed which led to delays of course. Then after installation I learned that the installers had punctured my roof causing water to leak into one of the bedrooms. It's been an absolute nightmare. I wouldn't recommend this company. Stay away!

Has been almost 1 1/2 years now since I started my solar project, signed May 2019, all paperwork and permits have been acquired since end of 2019, still no solar. Have tried calls, emails, been through a few project managers, don't know what else to do. Called again today, waiting for the call back. Maybe this review will get the attention of someone who can do ah my install before the permits run out.

Overall happy with the installation of my solar panels. Permitting and
installation went very smooth and they were done within a week. Saved a bunch of $ on my electrical bill!
