I've had a couple leaks pop up on our tile roof over the years. There's a number of trees around the house and the roof gets quite a bit of debris that clogs up the valleys and gutters. I had Hal and Lupe come out the first time and have since been a repeat customer. Absolutely the best roofing company I've dealt with, and one of the best companies, period, when it comes to customer service, reliability, communication, and results. Simply the best, highly recommended

When I bought my house, the inspection company suggested replacing the whole roof. In need of a new roof I reached out to multiple Roofers and Halco Roofing. Halco roofing was cost efficient and very professional. Hal and Jennifer (The owners) came out to my house immediately after speaking by phone to inspect the roof. They provided an estimate that was comparable to other companies. Their partner (Lupe) showed up on time and completed the job as outlined in the estimate.  They also cleaned up after themselves, you would have never known that they were there. This is a family owned and run business. They take pride in their work and reputation.

There are not enough good things I could say about Hal, Lupe, and team! Everyone had their masks on with every interaction and kept a respectful distance (roof repair work on a 2 story was done during pandemic). Went with them after a referral from a neighbor and the good reviews on Yelp. Hal worked with our budget and kept us in the loop via email, calls, and text. Lupe & team did high quality work quickly (total 1 day). The team was reliable, a pleasure to work with, and super diligent in terms of cleaning up after the work was done. Roofing is not cut and dry so expect changes to the estimate as they get started. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for repair or roof maintenance work!

Unlike some situations with contractors working on my house, I was home the entire time the roof replacement project was underway, so I got to watch and inspect constantly. Work consisted of a fair amount of carpentry changes I wanted to eves and some messy bad wood replacement, in addition to the new roof. Crew workmanship was first class / crew was respectful of my property and effective at job site cleanup / no smoking / no loud music / promptly showed up every morning / worked on weekend days to get the job done quickly. Interaction with Hal and Jennifer throughout the bidding, acceptance, execution and closeout phases was exemplary. They were on site regularly to help with the work and provide q/c. Hal identified the requirement from the roofing material mfg for upgraded adhesive underlayment that I would have wanted anyway. Valley and other sheet metal work and caulking came out fine. Hal kept me promptly informed on his recommendations for wood repairs so I could inspect and approve of contract extras in advance. Hal also coordinated with his recommended insulation company to arrange for additional insulation blown into the attic while the roof was off so the insulation installers did not have to go though my house to get attic access. I'd use Hal and Jennifer again and recommend them to friends.

Halco just put a new CertainTeed Solaris roof on our house in Pleasanton, and we are extremely happy we chose them. Their bid was significantly lower than any of the other companies we contacted, and it turned out their work was exceptional. Hal and Jennifer were very easy to work with, and they helped us through every step of the process. Lupe did the installation, and he was helpful, conscientious, and very skilled at his job. There were no surprises that you often find with contractors. The job was completed on time and within the scope of the bid. Cleanup was thorough, so when they left, the only thing left behind was our beautiful new roof. We highly recommend Halco Roofing.

First major rain fall of 2018 and I found I had a leak in my tile roof that was dripping into the house. I understand that the day after rain like that most roofing companies are beyond busy. Hal called me back within 20 minutes of sending out an estimate email. He told me he would be right over (that day) to check it out. He came by, looked at the damage, provided an extremely fair estimate to fix a leak in an emergency situation, and said he would send a couple of his guys over to work on it later that day. He had a team that was doing a full roof replacement close by and said he could spare a couple workers for a bit. He even left his personal ladder there so I would be reassured. Sure enough, a few hours later, he came back with a couple people. They replaced a few broken tiles from some leftover pieces that I had on hand, and fixed the leak. The whole process from initial contact to completion was about 5 hours. I couldn't wait around for the guys to finish on the roof because I had a prior commitment. So I told him I might not be around to pay them after they completed the work. Hal said it was not a problem and he could swing by tomorrow to give me the invoice. He got the job done quickly, and was extremely relaxed about payment and making sure I was happy. Plus, he is just a great person to talk to. When he came the next day with the invoice (exactly the estimate amount) we just chit chatted for about an hour about nothing in general. Cars, life, kids, etc. All around great service from a great guy. My roof needs to be replaced in a few years, I'll probably get a few bids from other companies. But you can't put a price on customer service and great people. Would recommend 100%

During the last big storm, I noticed water was leaking from the garage ceiling. Called Halco to get a quote. Left a message and heard back within the hour. They sent out someone to do the quote and was actually able to perform the repair right away - before the next wave of rain! He was timely, professional, did the work thoughtfully (I did not feel it was a rush job), and cleaned up afterwards. I will not hesitate to call again should I have other roofing needs.

We hired Harold/Hal to reroof our house in 2012. They came out and replaced it in a fair amount of time with no problems, however, every year it rains we get a leak on the porch at the chimney. Every year I call Hal to come out and fix it. He came out two times and the third time he sent someone else. He called me back the third time and told me he was ""Never coming back out"" He claims the problem is with the chimney but the water falls thru the roof. He gave us a 5 year warranty, has not stopped the leak and now refuses to fix it properly. Since he has refused to fix it I will probably have to go the the contractor's license board to make him fix it. I do not recommend this company.
