First off, my husband and I call him the roofing ninja. We hired him on the recommendation of our painting contractor to fix a dilapidated downspout that was pouring water where it shouldn't. I have to be honest, I'm not sure I understood much of what he said to me (heavy accent) but he seemed knowledgeable and gave me a fair price (I got other bids too). He was supposed to come at 8:00 a.m. and showed up promptly, made almost no noise whatsoever and was gone in a flash (hence the title ""roofing ninja""). He cleaned up all of his mess, so you couldn't even tell he had been there, except that the new gutter and downspout looked fantastic. He came back a couple days later to pick up the check since he didn't want to disturb us so early in the morning! Highly recommend.

This company is currently working on a building down the street from me. (I saw their sign) There are no cones, tape or scaffolding up, yet there are large chunks of tar and debris falling from the roof onto the sidewalk everywhere. I was showered by it. What type of company operates this way, putting the public at risk? After calling the number and speaking with a man names Sun, who barely spoke english, he told me he was sorry and that I should give him another chance. ?? WHAT?? Another chance at what? You could kill somebody with your business practices you moron.

Please don't support ignorant people who own businesses like this. They don't deserve your business.

So after about an hour of searching on Yelp of any companies, I fell upon H-Point Roofing. Yes, he has an accent, but I really didn't mind that. What I did mind is him hanging up on me TWICE...

So I literally just got off the phone, well let me rephrase that, he hung up on me....twice. Once I asked if I could get an estimate on a roof/ceiling, he told me to call a general contractor and hung up. At the first call, I thought it was just because one of our phones had bad service so I called him back telling him ""oh, my phone probably had a call fail."" and he replied saying ""....oh."" Then I explained to him that my roof is leaking and told me he was busy & hung up on me AGAIN.

Regardless if any company cannot do the work or do not want to deal with a customer, you DO NOT hang up on people. That's ridiculously rude.

Great company, great guy. His teams work is impeccable. We had a bitumen roof and two skylights installed in October 2012, right before the rainy season. His quote is fair and the work was completed in one day.

From start to finish, H-Point roofing was excellent. We have a flat roof with a modified bitumin membrane of two different ages (11 years and 25 years) that need to be re-roofed. The owner Sun Hong met me in person each day they were on the job, and he personally supervised his workers each day. He delivered what he promised, his price was the lowest of three bids, he was knowledgeable, courteous, and really cared about the quality of the work done. He also included in his bid things like replacing the crackled skylights, and still came out below other bids. He completed the job in two days. Showed up when he said he would on the dot. When he learned that we were also installing solar, he explained how he would add a third membrane to lengthen the life span of the roof under the solar array. He noticed some other minor work that needed to be done, but was not pushy at all. I highly recommend him and would use him again without hesitation.

After finding a dripping mess in my hallway after a long day at work, I scrambled to find a roofer to diagnose and fix the problem. H-Point was the third roofer I called and the only one who was able to come by the next morning. Sun arrived promptly, identified the problem quickly AND was able to repair the roof right on the spot with a very reasonable price tag.

In short, they are awesome!

Wow. I just had a service call that was exactly what I want from a contractor. A++.

Fast service: I called H-Point at 9:30am. He was at my house by 10:30am for an estimate.

Cost effective: He told me the problem was best fixed with some caulk, and rather than spend money paying him to do it, I should just caulk it myself. He walked me through how to fix the leak myself and then simply left.

Wait, what? Yep, he showed up, climbed all around my house, listened to my concerns, thoughts, and whatevers, took his best guess at what my problem was, told me how to fix it myself, and then left without charging me a dime. He also told me my roof was in terrific shape. I had been worried the leak was in a specific spot that suffers from some weird discoloration, but he checked that spot, told me it was fine (his word was actually excellent) and that I shouldn't let anyone bully me into getting that spot fixed.

I'll call him if his solution doesn't work, but as for now, I feel great about having H-Point come to my house. He listened, he really looked at the problem, and he came up with a great solution for me (although not so great for him.) He was also very non-threatening and, as a single girl, I felt totally fine having him alone in my house with me.

My only word of warning: Dude has the thickest accent in creation. He's very hard to understand. However, it is way worth struggling through his accent to get an estimate from him. He spends time to explain everything, and perhaps gives more information than I actually needed (with jokes) so it was a bit of an effort to know what he was saying. However, worth it!

He earned every one of these five stars and I wish I could give him more. When I do need more complicated roof repair, he'll be the first person I call.

I cannot recommend H-Point highly enough.

I knew that I need a new roof on a newly purchased property, and I already had two bids when I called H-point. I spoke with Sun Hong on the phone, and he was able to come and look at the roof the same day. He was very professional, knowledgeable and inspired confidence immediately when he was gathering info for the bid. His bid was right in line with the other bids that I already had, and it included the cost of potential unseen wood damage that was not included in the other bids.

He said that the job would take two days to complete, and that he would be on site to over seeing the project. True to his word, the project was started on a Monday (it was scheduled to start on a Wednesday, but he asked to move it up due to the possibility of rain), and it was finished on Tuesday afternoon. He was there the whole time, and went above and beyond to deliver a top quality job. His crew also did a great job of cleaning up after the project was completed.

The roof looks beautiful. My only complaint is that I need a ladder to get up to the roof to look at it.

Mr Sun Hong is the owner of H Point Roofing and is the one who comes out to bid your job and is present during all phases of the job to make sure everything is as it should be. He is honest, does what he says he will do when he says he will do it, and is friendly.
The Bid: We have a flat roof on a Marina style home in Portola. We had a ceiling leak and needed a new roof. We were also planning on installing solar panels so needed someone who knew what they were doing to make sure there was no leakage around the 20 or so roof penetrations that were required to install the panels and could coordinate with the solar panel company. Mr Hong's bid was not the cheapest, but it also was not the most expensive, of the 5 bids I received. I was sold on his previous reviews, his experience, and his reliability and accessibility.

The Job: The job lasted exactly as long as he projected. There was a minor snafu over who was going to provide a cover needed for the penetrations. Mr Hong felt it should have been provided by the solar panel and vice versa. Mr Hong resolved it immediately through his contacts. The crew is polite and cleaned up well afterwards.

Follow-up: We also had skylights installed. There was more condensation on these than we had with the previous skylights. Mr Hong came back, inspected, everything and created waterproof vent holes on the lights. This helped (it may also be that it stopped raining, we'll see next January). I have no doubt he will stand by his product and installation.

Overall, H Point provided excellent service from start to finish.
