USE MY EXPERIENCE AS A LESSON, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR REPAIRS

My wife and I used Guy Roofing in the past, but using them for a repair following Hurricane Helene has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Guy Roofing utterly refused to work with our insurance company. They needed to issue an itemized estimate for their work in order for insurance to pay out to me but they refused and said ""we don't do that."" At this point we had already given them a down-payment (our biggest mistake) and we were stuck with them. The only silver lining here was that Guy Roofing did allow us to downgrade the service agreement to make it a little cheaper knowing that insurance was probably not going to pay out the claim. I question why they cannot itemize their estimate because surely they know how much some shingles costs and they know how much their workers are paid, and they know how long the job takes - why couldn't they support a returning customer with an insurance claim? I have my suspicions as to why they would refuse... This is why I say DO NOT WORK WITH THEM if you plan on going through insurance. As a result of this terrible experience, the insurance company could deny funds because they did not have an itemized estimate/invoice and Guy Roofing got paid per their contract. In the end, we are out thousands of dollars. Do yourself a favor and LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE for your roofing needs.

Don't even bother using these people. You would think to be such a big company that has a university etc they would be good and do honest work. I've been calling 2 or 3 times a day to get the quote emailed to me which was supposed to have been done over 2 weeks ago and no one will do anything about it. They came and gave a price and never sent the quote. Service manager won't answer or call back either. Don't waste your time because they sure don't mind wasting it for you.

I contacted Guy Roofing to set up an appointment for an estimate. They were a no show for slated time and day and were very apologetic and moved some appointments around to get me in for another appointment today, 11/1/2024. Guess what? Another no show and no contact. If their work resembles how they keep their appointments do NOT use them for any roofing job. How can you trust them for your roofing needs when they are completely unreliable.

The morning after Helene blasted through we noticed a small leak around the chimney in the basement. I called and spoke with the representative. She gave me an appointment that was acceptable. Justin Blake arrived at the exact time, reviewed the history of, thoroughly examined and video/picture documented our roof. He explained that we did not have a hurricane problem but needed just routine maintenance work. An appointment was scheduled and this morning the work crew arrived punctually and were done in the time frame quoted by Justin. Sadly I was not able to get the names but I caught them in action:)
Was the price fair? We think so.
Do we recommend GUY ROOFING? Absolutely.

Our roof was replaced by Guy Roofing in 2018 due to hail damage. After six years, we had a severe storm and water was dripping on the inside of the fireplace in our living room. Went up in the attic and noticed the roof had other areas that had been leaking over time.
We called Guy Roofing to come out to look at the leaks on the inside. The representative took pictures of the roof on top of the house to show us that the roof shingles are OK that it was not causing the leak. After two years, it was out of warranty and Guy Roofing did not see a problem from the workmanship that had caused the leak. Guy Roofing representative basically told us that the workmanship was good. And if we wanted it fixed that we would have to pay all of it out of our own pocket.
I will not and would not recommend them.

Salesman misrepresented the company,products and the outcome. Called about a leak. Inspector came with a $5K price. They came and did the work. Then during the 1st rain it leaked again. They fixed again. During the 1st rain after that. It leaked again. Somebody needs to take them to court and put a stop to them scamming their customers

The billing practices of this company are deceitful. As a preferred roofer for Nationwide Insurance, they knew the disbursement amount but still performed additional work that wasn't included. Despite numerous discussions with billing, I received delinquency notices and threats of being reported to collections. The lady in billing would tell me to wait while they contacted Nationwide about covering the extra items, but I continued to get delinquency texts. Their communication is unprofessional; they don't respect their clients enough to follow up on claims or statuses. Instead, they send impersonal texts and ignore emails. This company is deceitful. Find another roofer--there are plenty of honest and helpful options out there.

Guy Roofing replaced my roof a few years ago and did a horrible job! I had a leak that I did not have before the replacement. Work was poorly done and they left a mess in my yard. Nails were everywhere! After many complaints and return visits they got the roof leak stopped. I had trouble with the poor workmanship the whole time the roof was on. I had to replace the roof long before I should have. For all those positive reviews, count your blessings as you lucked up but keep an eye out on the roof in the years to come! I used Leon Easler for this last roof and they did a beautiful job with no issues. They completely cleaned up after themselves and the roof was not longer ""lumpy"". I highly recommend Leon Easler Roofing.

Guy Roofing replaced our roof in Aug 2020 after a hailstorm, and we hadn't noticed any issues until Apr 2024 when we saw water stains on the ceiling of our upstairs bathroom.

Their sales rep came over and checked it out, then quoted us $3800 for a premium ""roof tune up"", which would replace 3 rubber pipe boots with perma boots as well as installing ice/rain shielding. Unfortunately they only offer a 2-year warranty so we weren't getting any price breaks at this point, but based on other professional opinions, we were getting ripped off.

Eventually we reached out to another company (Roofers LLC in Greenville) and not only did they identify the issue, but they took it upon themselves to fix it AT NO CHARGE. Besides sealing the existing pipe boots properly and taking care of some nail pops, they also found an old bottle of sealant that was stuck in our gutter, which is something Guy Roofing clearly dropped back in 2020 when the roof was installed, and missed again when the sales rep came over to check the roof 4 years later.

On top of that, Roofers LLC noticed our drip edges weren't installed properly by Guy Roofing, which is causing our shingles to warp near the gutters. Since their warranty only covers 2 years, I won't even bother asking about them about this.

Guy Roofing may have other companies beat when it comes to brand recognition, but after this whole experience, it felt like my ignorance was being exploited for profit AND the quality of their original work was sub-par, so I'll never contact them again.
