Refferal from a friend that got solar from them.
Called and didn't get a call back until 2.5 weeks later.
Gave them info beforehand and she keeps asking the same questions over and over.
Needed to reschedule and called/texted 3+ hours beforehand so she could tell the guys not to
Come since they have a Sacramento address and it would take 2 hours to get here.
Guys showed up on time (apparently she never contacted them)
Then I start getting harassing calls/emails/voicemails (10+) from rep saying I didn't cancel correctly and never called them (I have a call log that I did)
Maybe she's going through some things but this is absolutely harassment and I would avoid at all costs working with the rep.
The guy workers seemed nice but overall if you're working with a company and potentially giving them your money and all this happens beforehand, imagine what it's like after you give them your business?
I wouldn't and am going with tesla.

I love my new Solar System, very high tech and user friendly. Jacob Hoffman and the Green Day Power crew knocked it out of the park! Very professional from start to finish, excellent communication, always kept me in the loop to keep the process moving forward. Had a small esthetic issue during installation, after it was brought to Jacob's attention he had it taken care of immediately. Jacob Hoffman and Green Day Power strive for excellence and 100% customer satisfaction and they definitely met the goal! I highly recommend Green Day Power to anyone!

I had solar on my roof in no time flat.
From the initial contact I received an immediate design with detailed calculations.
Permits were obtained quickly and the work done in one day. The inspector said it was another top notch installation by Green Day Power.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jake H back in March 2020. Being the indecisive person I am regarding making big purchases for me home, Jake, was wonderful with guiding me through every possible question I had for re-roofing my house and Solar. He was very patient, caring and compassionate and honest, regarding all my concerns. Green Day Power did a beautiful job re-roofing, ended up needing all new fascia board around the parameter of my house due to wood rotting, mounted the solar, passed inspection with flying colors.
I highly recommend this company for the wonderful work they did, and it's all attributed to Jake for the hard work he put into this to make it happen. He came over to see all the work and greeted me with beautiful flowers. Please use this company for any of your roof & solar. You wont be disappointed, I guarantee that. He'll always treat you with upmost dignity and respect.
Again, Jake Thank you so much for everything, I'll be referring you to anyone & everybody that ask.

I put out a RFQ for the Generac emergency electrical generator for home use. This company was one of the ones that responded. Having worked in the trades earlier in my life, I'm not illiterate when it comes to installations. The person that came out to give me a quote, tried to oversell me a 22kW generator which I didn't need for the size of my home. I needed an 18kW generator according to the calculator on the Generac home page. So, that was strike one, strike two was when he tried to use their connection to Costco as a reference for signing up with Green Day. That's not really what I need to hear. What I really need to hear was, how long have their install crews been doing this kind of work, the companies experience, etc. Plus, the price he qouted me was outrageous. $22,400 for a generator and install. I have no special needs or requirements that would make the install worth $15,000 above the cost of a generator and transfer switch and to pull a permit in El Dorado County is not difficult. The final strike was when he said that the usual warranty was 5 years, but that Green Day would warranty it for 7 years. On the Generac web page, they're having a special that extends the warranty to 7 years on any Generac purchase in X amount of days... I really hate being taken for a fool by salespeople whose only interest is gouging customers so their commision is bigger. The next closest quote from another company was for $15,500 for the same 22kW generator. A $5k difference and they also had them in stock. So, buyer beware. It seems the 22kW Generac is the 'hot deal' for these guys. I would not do business with Green Day for any amount now.

Price gouging is illegal when products are in high demand following a crises such as power outages, fires, etc. GDP is doing just that. GDP is allegedly the sole distributor for COSTCO for generac generators. So, I completed a request on Costco.com to obtain an estimate. The GDP rep tried to sell me a generator for $20,900 when Home Depot is selling the exact same model for $5,900 (excluding installation)! Seriously? Costco - how can you let this happen? GDP Sales rep said install takes less than two days. If so, the install and a permit should NOT cost $15,000. I have no special installation requirements or trenches to dig. Gas is next to my electrical. Super easy install. I called the GDP rep back after I noticed the price difference at Home Depot and asked why GDP was so high. He said ""we have them in stock (thanks to Costco) - others don't due to high demand."" That's price gouging. Shame on you GDP and shame on Costco for letting this happen. Why should GDP get the benefit of Costco's buying power and price gouge your customers! The Costco customers should get the pricing benefit of GDP's ability to be a Costco distributor. So unethical. I'm going to call Costco to complain.

Got my solar installed in December, 2020. It is now July 2021 and my system was JUST turned on last week! I noticed on my SMUD account that whenever I went to look for my solar data - the data bars would blink grey - I thought for the longest time this was just a delay in loading the information from my system to Smud's. Turns out, no one turned my installation ON after installation was complete. I've been waiting for a manager to call me back for over a week now. I called today at 1:30 pm and the manager was on lunch? I worked in customer service for over 10 years, I am shocked that this isn't a priority to them. I have a SMUD bill that is over $600 now, year to date- because my sales rep WRIGHT recommended months ago that I shouldn't pay it when I first started questioning my Smud bill, asked him why my bill was so high (he said in the summer my credits should balance it out) - this is the most frustrating, ridiculous thing I have experienced. The tech they sent out to ""troubleshoot"" the issue? He tried saying it was probably the SMUD people that messed with it and turned it off, or that this lady goes around and just turns off their systems to mess with Green Day Power. If that was true I would have at least some kind of data before they turned it off from my system, but I have NOTHING. Sounds a lot like a company that doesn't want to take responsibility for their mistakes. I have not had any solar produced from my home since installation. If they corrected the issue immediately this would be a different review but they obviously don't give a $h*t about their customers.

Found them through Costco for a generator and I had high expectations but the warning signs were there from the start and I should have paid attention and not wasted my time:

- I got three calls from them in the space of an hour from the same person including one where they said they were calling about Solar
- When I got a hold of them person on the phone seemed to wanted to get rid of me a soon as possible and couldn't answer any questions
- Person on the phone told me there was a $2k discount if all homeowners were present for the visit. Estimator came out and confirmed but never update pricing
- Person on the phone said they could also do a related project which is to upgrade electrical panels. Estimator knew so little that I didn't even bring it up with them
- Pricing is inflated. They wanted 3x the cost of the generator for the installation. We're talking almost $15k more a straightforward job and other bids were a fraction of that
- Their final pricing includes all of the Costco discounts, gift cards etc. So in the end they're just adding it to their price and then subtracting for you to make it seem like you're getting a deal
- There is a discount of $2k for NOT financing. If that's not a sign of price inflation I don't know what is
- No attempts by estimator to size generator based on actual demand or existing power consumption
- No trenching required in my case since generator, power, and gas are all right next to each other with room for a new pad yet they kept avoiding the question and not explaining why they won't subtract trenching costs
- I got no paper work from them. Just some numbers presented to me on a laptop in a huge font
- I specifically asked for a written quote and written specs for the generator. I received an email that included a photo of the laptop screen with the same numbers I had seen previously
- Then I started receiving automated emails and text messages asking me what was stopping me from proceeding.

In the meantime, no calls or emails from the company or estimator. So basically all of the signs of sales focused companies looked for an easy score.
