I was in need of an estimate for some work that we needed done on our roof. I saw all of these great reviews and so I gave them a call. They called me back in less than 5 hours and they were at my house the next day. The fix was quick and the guys that came out were extremely efficient and polite. I would certainly recommend them!

Let me start by saying I'm a research junkie, also known as a tech Nerd.
I dug far and wide in all the search engines and educated myself before taking the plunge.
What I found is this; solar is not a one size fits all business. The other thing I found out is that there are some massive marketing companies in this field"" good and bad I guess"".

Here are the things that are critical to evaluate

1. The tax credit : do you really need it ( can you truly leverage it )
2. Financing: This is critical and where most people make mistakes
3. Panel Quality:cheap Chinese panels are available however they lose efficiency quickly eroding your savings.
4. Aesthetics : OMG some companies do a Hideous job in this department.
5. Professionalism: Only you can make this decision - most companies have high pressure sales tactics - uggghhh this is the worst part solar companies are like bill collectors it borders on harassment.
6. What does your solar company know abbout roofing? ( the number 1 failure in solar installs)
7. etc etc.etc.

There is so much more I went into that would bore you if I kept writing.
Here is the bottom line.

Green Convergence is a professional local full service company that took their time, moved at my speed.They answered all the questions I had and provided a fair competitive price for the best quality panels by Sunpower and multiple financing options.They also have the best recessed low profile installation with a 50 yr Owens Corning roofing warranty. This company has now helped me and 2 others I referred we are all very happy with the service we received. I highly recommend them Mark and his team are top notch

I'm not even sure where to start talking about the absolutely phenomenal service that I received from Green Convergence. About a year ago I started looking at doing solar for my house that I had purchased. Unfortunately at that time, I just didn't have enough history to make the financial aspects make sense to do a full solar install. Then randomly I got a follow up call about 3 months ago just to say hi and see if I was interested in possibly looking at solar again. I told the person (Trevor) who called that he was welcome to put the numbers together, but that it likely still wouldn't make sense but he was good to try anyway :)

That's where my amazing experience really started. I sent them my updated usage numbers and within hours I had a new estimate from them. We went back and forth and looked at different options to make the financials make sense, and we actually did. What's more than that my WIFE agreed that the financials made sense. She's an accountant/book keeper type so making her agree can be a challenge. Trevor answered every single call I made to him and promised me that they would work to get my project done as soon as possible.

My solar panels showed up quicker than expected, they sent a team out to install my EV car charger before anything else, to make sure I could get the rebate from LADWP, fixed some additional items in my garage (for a VERY reasonable cost) that the City inspector called out, that weren't even something that they were responsible for. They had my panels and all the work done in a matter of 3 days and then inspected and ready to go quickly.

I shopped around and I got quotes from multiple companies and I will tell you this, I have never worked with a company as professional and willing to work with their customers as Green Convergence. I found out that this is a family run company, and trust me when I tell you it shows, even their crews said they were treated like part of the family. Since my solar system has been turned on and energized by the city of LA, I walk outside every day and watch to see my energy usage flowing back to the grid :) Thank you guys so much for not only getting the job done, but doing it right, the first time, quickly and with such professionalism!!!!

OK, so this company is amazing with a capital ""A""!!! Don't get your solar from anyone else! My husband and I did months of research and obtained 5 different quotes for solar.We are SUPER thorough and a little OCD :)...

Some companies used the Japanese panels and others use the Guinness Book of World Records holder for most efficient panel - Sun Power panels. (just sayin). The Sun Power panels are also made in America, but am getting side tracked....

Lamar and James are amazing. We have a LARGE system...42 panels to be exact and three inverters and it looks great! The install crew was top notch, great to work with, and their work was clean and precise. This company is also a roofing company so you can feel good about them drilling holes in your roof and it not springing a leak. We get compliments on our solar all the time! We have referred two friends to Green Convergence and they are thrilled as well. Give Lamar a call and he will walk you through the whole thing!

I cannot say enough good things about Green Convergence and the job they did on my home. Not only did we have 24 SunPower SPR-E20-327 panels expertly installed on our roof, but we also had them re-paper the roof as well. Since our cement tile roof was 17 years old, I figured it was a good idea to have it re-papered at the same time as installing the solar. I wanted a company that could do both at the same time, so I needed a roofing AND solar company.

I was very impressed with the presentation and analysis provided by Jeff Figearo, our sales representative (more on him later). I also interviewed and obtained an estimate from another roofing and solar company who advertises about owning your own system on TV (name omitted, but you probably know who). Let's just say that the other company wanted/needed to install 46 panels on my roof just to come close to the same estimated level of power generation as Green Convergence was going to get from 24 panels, for about the same money.

The work was done so quickly and efficiently, I was blown away. Not only that, but they really cleaned up after themselves. The inverter is in my garage exactly where I wanted it, and I am really having fun checking my production on the iPhone App.

Not only did Jeff act as our sales rep, but he kept in touch throughout the process to ensure that we were happy. The entire team at GC (especially our project manager, Debbie) were great and we highly recommend them.

First off-know that I am PICKY! Most contractors who have worked at my house probably hate me because if they don't do a good job I call them out on it (and do my homework so I know if they are doing a crappy job) I don't think I have EVER in all my years as a homeowner had a job go so quickly and easily as my solar installation buy Green Convergence- they are amazing! I had twenty-one, 327W panels installed 5/18/15. I interviewed EIGHT companies before I selected GC and I am so glad I did! Great people, superior product reputation, great review feedback, plus two other things that tipped the scales in their favor: the 12 month no interest ITC loan option and the fact that they run all conduit internally and use a 2"" high mounting bracket system that is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye

The good stuff:

1) Comments from the neighbors ""We saw the sign- you're getting solar?""
Me: ""Look again- I GOT solar- the panels are so flush and sleek you don't even notice them against my grey roof""
Neighbors: ""wowwwwwwwwww""
2) Only took two weeks to get my PTO and the panels produce a lot even on partly cloudy days
3) Their electrician installed my car charger while he was there
4) They are safety-conscious perfectionists...it was raining on the day of my installation- foreman Chase would get them off the roof as soon as it looked dangerous and had them back up as soon as it dried off. Given that it was slippery/dangerous, I told them they could run the conduit external if they wanted to save time and effort. Nope- even offered a shortcut, they wouldn't take it- all conduit is run inside the walls and attics. They even dropped into the hard to get to attic thru the roof to save me a mess in my house- then drove 100 miles to get matching shingles for the roof to close it up and make it perfect
5) The inverter in the garage is in a cool, shaded location and installed PERFECTLY
6) I found ZERO nails and only one bolt on the ground anywhere
7) They brought juice, coffee and bagels the first day for everybody
8) The way they hunted down the discontinued shingles to match my (one year old) roof illustrated perfectly their dedication to perfection- it is not often I am surprised by good service.... but that WAS really above and beyond
9) Communication was constant- I never felt out of the loop and they bent over backwards to keep me informed with what was going on


They were speedy, efficient, excellent, polite, punctual, clean... you name it! Everything was done PERFECTLY and in my experience that never, ever happens!

Update 6/1/2015 - DJ came out personally to give us a check to pay the overage from SCE. He also checked everything and reviewed possible energy saving options. They are scheduling someone to move our insulation around and working on a proposal for additional panels installed at their cost to make up for the under production.

I am not sure why anyone would leave negative feedback for Green Convergence. I shopped solar for over two years before I encountered this business. From Alex's sales and ROI presentation to Chase and the installation team GC has been in complete contact, start to finish.

The project managers Kevin and Debbie have kept us up to date throughout the installation process. The install was clean and executed to what was planned. The team was respectful and prompt. We are now awaiting final approval from the city and unlimited energy from the sun.

We have referred Green Convergence to several friends. They are now in process of installing their solar solutions.

A++++ and a LOCAL COMPANY. Panels made in the USA too!!

Don't waste your time. Too many people who don't have authority to do anything and the owner doesn't give a damn.
I notified the owner D.J., about some poor business practices from his employees ie missed appointment, information not sent when promised. He seemed concerned and said I should contact him if there was any problem. So when I reviewed their contract with the intention to sign, I contacted him about some language that was too vague ie ""...for smaller projects..."" (define a small project) ""...upon verbal or written notice..."" (all notices should be in writing to document change), he passed me off to 2 other employees (partners?), who refused to make any changes to the contract.

I read the contract from 3 different solar companies. Green Convergence was the worst. It swayed too much in their favor. I signed a contract with another company whose contract was clear and simple.

NOTE TO CONSUMER: It's not true when a company says they cannot change a contract. They wrote it, they can change it. It's not written in stone. Go for what you want. There's a lot of solar companies that want your money so make them work for you.
