We called Green City Roofing, needed to figure out the nature of our leak, spoke with someone and scheduled an appointment as no other company was available. We did not meet with anyone on the day of the scheduled appointment and called the company back after waiting for them for an hour with no luck.

Vlad called back the next day and said that their system was offline and something happened due to schedule conflict, we rescheduled with them again and this time Vlad was on time. Vlad took a look at our roof and gave us a solution for the repair, we asked for an official estimate and he promised to follow up with it.

When we got the estimate it was obvious that it's very generalized and we couldn't find a contractors license on it, we searched online and came to a build zoom profile for Green City Roofing that has an alert posted saying that there is no active license on file. We searched California State License Board website for Green City Roofing and it was no hit. We called Green City Roofing and asked about their licensing and Vlad reassured me that he will send this information over shortly.

We never heard back from this company and I figured that we weren't ideal clients as we asked for license and insurance. Now I always give companies chances before posting negative reviews but this is a serious issue, if someone falls from your roof and something happens to them it would be a homeowners responsibility which in term means that they can turn around and sue us for not checking the licensing requirements, unlicensed contractors also don't carry insurance and of course there are no taxes that are paid by them.

Ask questions, make sure your contractor is legit. I've been re-reading these positive reviews on yelp and all these people seem to be so happy with this company, maybe we shouldn't have asked the important questions and just let them do their thing.

We found their quote to be very reasonable, and hired Green City Roofing to do a repair job for us ( patching problem areas and painting vents ). I do not write many reviews, but this company is exceptional!
My husband saw Green City Roofing working on our neighbors roof and asked to complete an estimate for roof replacement at our house. After several repairs that were done pretty poorly we were sure that the time for new roof has come. The knowledge that was shown when answering all our questions about the materials and process gave us a confident that this company know exactly hat they are doing. Aaron and his team worked extremely careful, but fast at the same time. Getting a new roof with a complete tear off is not an easy thing but our project was completed in three days. We are very happy with Green City Roofing's efficiency, ownership and promptness. Highly recommend this company for all your roofing needs.

Green City Roofing just finished replacing my roof. I was in a time crunch as i was looking to sell my house, and every company i spoke to needed at least a week to come and complete an estimate. Green City Roofing completed everything (from my first phone call to final city inspection) in 2 weeks! They quickly answed my phone calls and emails providing all the information i asked for And did an excellent job installing the new roofing system on my house. I own the house in San Mateo, but I live in Europe most o the time. When my tenants called me a few weeks ago to inform about the roof leak, I though it is going to be nightmare to take care of. I called a few companies, but they all were booked for at least a month ahead. Green City Roofing was able to arrange the next day appointment to look at my roof. They did an excellent patching job few days after. My house was well protected before the next rain (which is not so often in CA :)). Thank you, 5 stars, and my highest recommendation to those who considers this company!

Green City Roofing was highly recommended to me by a friend who hired them in the past. Despite the heavy workload, they scheduled an appointment for an estimate within 2 days. Green City Roofing provided us with two detailed estimates few days later.

They were happy to answer any questions we had about the materials and installation process. We had two options to pick from for our flat roof: TPO or bitumen torch down. We decided to go with the first one. The job was scheduled to start in two weeks.

The roofers were nice and considerate of our neighbors by cleaning up and not working too late or too early in the morning. Everything was delivered as promised.

I would recommend this company to friends and family in the future.

We tried to reach this company for a few weeks and finally got a hold of someone, the accent was very heavy and the person on the phone did not really understand what I was saying, it took around 15 minutes to explain what I need (roof patch) and the appointment was scheduled for the following week.

It was a no show, I'm not sure who is running this company and how but I did not find any license information online on this contractor and I'm sure something is wrong when someone promises to show up but does not.

My personal experience with this firm was negative and I always give second chances and when I called back 3 times and nobody picked up the phone I realized that review is necessary.

Could give 0 stars if it was possible.

First I would like to say it's hard to take over from a different contractor who messed up in the first place. The team came in very professional and told us what needed to be done. Worked hard to get the job done before the rains started today. Would highly recommend to anyone getting work done.

Ordered roof replacement for a country house anticipating a heavy rain season. Guys were on time and made everything to pre-agreed schedule. They offer repair and replacement warranty. Feel safe for the winter now and looks solid :) Many thanks!
