The most unprofessional group of people I've ever come across. I am glad they're going out of business

It feels good to know that I was able to have a new roof after wind/hail damage was found. Thankful to the workers for their hard work and keeping me updated through the process.

We hired Gold Stars Roof to replace our roof. During the job a roofer nailed through my roof and hit the AC refrigerant line. The person they sent to fix it had a 1-star rating and really had no idea how to repair the damage. I had to call another contractor and paid $2,700+ to repair the damage. Gold Stars told me they'd pay for the damage they caused but have since ignored my requests for reimbursement and it has been 6 weeks. I have to take them to small claims court now for the $2,700 plus damage plus lawyer fees.

I am writing to warn consumers of vandalism and insurance fraud of this local Atlanta roofing company who is vandalizing property to obtain payment for roof repairs.
Around September 28th, 2021, two men representing Gold Stars Roof canvassed the Inman Oaks neighborhood soliciting business from homeowner's stating that there was visible roof damage to the homes in the area. On the 28th, I was approached at my residence by two of Gold Stars Roof's representatives, stating that the roof of my home had wind/storm damage - and that I would be eligible for a full roof replacement by my insurance at no cost. I allowed them access to my property and subsequently proceeded to vandalize my roof in efforts to obtain a contract for insurance claim and payment.
Within a couple of days, I soon realized the damage caused as I kept finding newly fallen shingles in and around my yard each day. I immediately called Gold Stars Roof and the contractor to cancel my agreement as outlined within the terms on the signed contract.
My home Insurance Adjuster came to my property around April 26th to assess the damages. He sent an engineer the same day to look at the roof of my home and it was determined that damage to my roof was not because of wind damage, but it had in fact been vandalized - as there were over 120 shingles damaged and/or missing, which was excessively higher than any neighboring properties of my size. The Adjuster advised me to find a different company to make my repairs and to file a police report for vandalism to submit for claim.
I have contacted Gold Stars Roof several times to obtain information regarding the contractors who vandalized my property as well as to obtain the company's bond and insurance information however I have not received a reply back with the requested information, they have denied all responsibility, and they have gone so far as to try to negotiate a new contract for me to pay them to repair the damage that they caused!

I watched this guy come out to my house a rip shingles off my roof and then ask me to sign a form guaranteeing to hire them to fix it. If that isn't a scam I don't know what it is. I have a video and will be contacting police.

Bait and switch! The salesman comes to the door, tells me we need a new roof, and my insurance will pay for it. He climbs up to look , comes back and says yeah, you need one. This company will take care of it if I just file the claim. When the claim is filed, I sent him all of the underwriter's findings, and asked him ""Please call to tell me what this means and discuss next steps He said they will allow the claim, pay some now and pay the rest upon completion, and by the way they withheld some amount for depreciation, but ""Don't worry, we're good for it."" After a two week silence, I enquire ""Please advise next steps.?"" only to be told; ""Someone from my office is calling you right now to give you a rundown."" And in fact 90+ hours later, ""the head of [he salesman's] production called to say, that I would have to pay the depreciation that the insurance company withheld. When I ask to salesman to live up o his promise, he says he can't help it, he didn't know the amount withheld and anyway he did a lot of work foe me in filing the claim. (not true)! This company knows all the ins and out of insurance claims and why he lied and lead me on for 10 days is fraudulent, dishonest, and deceitful.
