After losing his family home in Crystal Beach, TX, to Hurricane Ike in 2008 and facing a denied insurance claim, Gene and his family returned to Norcross to rebuild. He pursued a degree in Residential Construction Management and became a catastrophe adjuster, gaining valuable experience in construction and project oversight.

Inspired by his Hurricane Ike experience, Gene grew passionate about claims adjusting, recognizing its importance in aiding disaster victims. In 2012, Gene worked as a catastrophe adjuster during Superstorm Sandy, where he connected with his future business partner. They established Fifth Element Adjusting in 2017, leveraging their knowledge to advocate for clients dealing with insurance claims and construction challenges. Gene has consistently devoted his time and expertise to rebuilding homes and offering vital support to families, showcasing his unwavering dedication to community service.
